Art by Nozaj. // For those wondering how the "Loader" performs his duties in the Drebuchet, the simplest way of doing this is of course to use out of alliance alts and changing the POS password. But remember that you can also disallow corp and alliance member usage, thus launching everyone who doesn't have the password, even if they were previously allowed into the POS without one.
If you are using corp/alliance dreads for the Drebuchet, this is perhaps the most effective method. By making sure everyone but the dreads prepped for launch have the correct password set on their ships, you can simply deselect the "allow corporation member usage" and "allow alliance member usage". The ships with incorrect passwords set are then launched out of the POS at great speeds, which will hopefully only be the dreadnoughts set for launch.
And keep in mind the loader will never be launched himself, so this tactic will always require at least two pilots: the loader and his ammunition.
So did I just have a beautiful voiced British dude explain to me the various uses of Dreadnaughts AS ammunition?

That would mean that attacking POS would become a LOT harder in the future since your capital fleet attacking the place would literally fall apart if a "drebuchet" were to be used against them, allowing to easily pick them off. Sure, they could warp together again in theory, but what nullsec corp would actually give them the opportunity to do so

RnK out smarted all 70k people in the CFC and came up with a way to fight archons on POSs. Amazing.

It is a shame even the rooks and kings can't find a way to beat the self archons, other then by using a somewhat cheaty game mechanic. I pray I get to observe this tactic used in battle.
Bull pucky using the assist is a similar mechanic. They had the creativity to put something to work to counter archon blobs.
This is in no way cheating... It's using the game mechanics in a creative way. Just because most people wouldn't think of it doesn't make it cheating.

Starbursting is not new. We've done it to our own pilots for not paying attention just for lolz.
I COULD see them labeling the part where you use the enemy pos as an exploit, but if you HAVE the password it isn't any kind of exploit. Bumping things out of a POS is only an exploit if you do it FROM outside the POS. In this case, you have the password. Cant see what would be against the rules.

My Dreadnought flew around 1200km when Bastion cycle ended.
But my Archon (not in triage) flew only around 500km.
Does that mean (i've not tested that), that if a Dreadnought hits a triage carrier in a cycle, the triage carrier flies a bit more than 500km, because of the triage mode?

So is this tactic still usable in-game? It didn't get patched out or anything? If so, that's awesome and hilarious--it even makes me wonder why it wasn't used extensively in the massive battle for B-R--a turtling ball of doom is a perfect target to scatter with a drebuchet.
it requires a pos force field. the battle for B-R was fought on the station no pos was in range.
Also B-R reached maximum time dilation and it would've taken a lot of setup time.
