I am currently working on my Grandfathers funeral arrangement.. 💙😭 My heart is shattered but this project brings some sense of comfort to be able to make him such a beautiful pillar piece in his honor. It fills me to know that he would've appreciate this detail as he was an excellent gardener. He grew some of the most gorgeous, lush rose bushes. Every now and then he would clip a few for my Grandmother, my sister and myself on mornings when we stayed over at the breakfast table. It's one of my fondest memories & made us feel so special. This array of colors was exactly what I was looking for for him. May you RIP Abuelo Mario Vargas ✝️🌹🙏 Tysm for these helpful tutorials!!
Hi lovely! I’m so sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I’m honoured that I could help in such sad times. Did you manage to make the flowers? I bet they were so gorgeous as so much love would have gone into them. Xxx
This arrangement is stunning! And you do an e exceptional job at explaining. I am DIYing my wedding florals and of all the videos I've watched THIS is going to be my "bible" to get me through! Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Love it! So beautiful. A helpful hint I was taught with hydrangeas though, is hey don't like the "pinch" of scissors/sheers etc. Use a hook knife and slice it. I also slice the cell wall about 3 inches at the bottom of the stem. This allows more water to enter the stem faster therefore your flower will live longer!!
Thank you so much! I have never actually used a hook knife. I have only ever used scissors as knowing me I will cut my fingers off 🤣 it’s always intrigued me how people use the floristry knife, it’s a skill in itself. I will have to get a hook knife and give it a try for sure! Xx
Gorgeous! Thank you for the tutorial! I do B Sunday flowers for the church, but we use regular vases, as the area can get cramped. But I’ve always wanted to know how to do these big triangúlar ones.
Jem, Thank You for sharing your talent & knowledge with floral arrangements. You keep it simple & elegant. It has given me the confidence to try what you have taught me, about floral arrangements. All the Best!!
How long does the oasis stay wet? If you make them the day or two before, do you have to add water to the arrangement? Would it be better to put the oasis in a vessel or vase? Beautiful job!!
Thanks for this. Such a great video. You make it so easy to follow and understand. I'm new to Floristry and teaching myself, so tutorials like this make it so accessible. If you don't mind me asking....how much would you charge for an arrangement like this? I'm teaching myself recipes etc. Thanks
Thank you so much! That means a lot 🫶🏻 For this arrangement, I would now charge £180. Pricing is very difficult. I have a membership academy coming in January which covers everything, with a catalogue of tutorials and a community to ask any questions 🫶🏻 xx
Beautiful! I will be following this for my own wedding flowers. Just wondering about storage. Can I make this the day before, and if so, what the best way to keep it cool and hydrated? Thanks :)
Thank you Sarah! Yes you can make this the day before and it will be as fresh as ever the next day as long as you soak the floral foam correctly. In the uk it’s fine to just leave it where it is, as long as it’s not a hot summer day, leave it in a cool space xx
Hi lovely!! In the UK, if you’re getting your flowers from the supermarket for DIY, I would say it will cost £50 with the oasis and tray as well. The foliage you can get from the garden. If you can get them at wholesale it will cost about £40 xxx
Hi Jem, can you give me some tips about the rules of arranging flowers ‘flowers in triangle way’ I feel like I’m making church arrangements and they do look nice but I don’t get the rules of how to make arrangements and the shape/dimensions. Is there a video I can watch? I have had a brain injury so I’m flower arranging when I can, a simple explanation if possible. Thank you Gemma 😊 I’m going to help my local church with pedastool and altar flowers next week
Hi lovely! Yes of course I can. I need to make a video on a traditional pedestal arrangement, but let me explain as much as I can in the meanwhile. So it’s best to work in odd numbers in floristry. For the pedestal, you need to place the foliage into the oasis first in a half diamond/ triangle shape, then for example you are using roses, carnations, germini and gyp. I would use the roses first. Put your first rose in the centre of the arrangement then sporadically place the other roses around this centre rose making sure all the roses are placed in triangles, doing this will help you spread the flowers out evenly. You can then add the carnations and germini in the spaces left in the arrangement and these will automatically be in triangles as you have already done the work with the roses. Any gaps you can see put a unit of gyp in there and you’re done. I cover the back with leather leaf so the whole of the floral foam is covered. Xx

I really love this! You have any ideas of different floral types for an all red or burgundy arrangement?
Thank you! I would use ruby hydrangeas, red roses, red gladioli and maybe burgundy carnations or scabioas xxx
🎉

Looks lovely, how is it attached to the pedestal after? ❤
You can either tape it to the pedestal before you start putting the arrangement together, I just put it onto the pedestal they stay steady xx
Beautiful, thank you for sharing. Where did you get the pedestal from?
Hey babes! I can’t remember 🤣 I think it may have been whittingtons xxx
Beautiful! I will be following this for my own wedding flowers. Just wondering about storage. Can I make this the day before, and if so, what the best way to keep it cool and hydrated? Thanks :)

Trip a corner off the foam. It makes it easier to get water into the arrangement.
V nice I like it , I also do flowers
Thank you so much!! Xx
What's your cost estimate for DIYing something like this? Gorgeous work!
Hi lovely!! In the UK, if you’re getting your flowers from the supermarket for DIY, I would say it will cost £50 with the oasis and tray as well. The foliage you can get from the garden. If you can get them at wholesale it will cost about £40 xxx
Any chance you could show us how to a pedestal arrangement without the use of foam please.
❤

I cover the back with leather leaf so the whole of the floral foam is covered. Xx
How many days will it last
At least a week xx
Hey how long will the flowers usually last?
Heya they last 7-10 days freshly made xx
Love your arrangements 😊 how much would you charge for this ?
I would charge about £150 for this xx
Im thinking of making this for my wedding, my question is when should you put this together ?
Hi lovely! I would advise doing them no longer than 2 days before xx
What would be the timeline for doing this? Could it be assembled the day before the wedding?
I would suggest doing them the day before, if you have a lot to do you can do them 2 days before, I wouldn’t recommend doing them any earlier xx
Lindo
Is that motbfern you are calling leather leaf?
Hey lovely! It isn’t no, mot fern leaf is very delicate and wild. Leather leaf is grown in America and South Africa and is much steadier xx
Can't join as it is being classified as for kids.
I will edit this and make it not made for kids xx
What place do you order your flowers from ? Do you know any online wholesalers? Be much appreciated ❤
Hiya! I only use Flowervision. They are all over the UK though xx
@@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy7091 thanks hun 😘
