Hey mate...I got up on stage at a local open mic jam session last night and ripped out a bunch of solos taken from your online lessons...my first public performance in 30 years, and it was your teaching that gave me the confidence to do that again after all this time. It felt great and the audience applauded! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your efforts. Cheers from Australia
Hi Geoff - wow. Your comment blew me away. I'm really impressed because I know how much guts it takes to get up and perform in front of people for the first time in a long while. I really appreciate your comment and it's really encouraged me; honestly, more than I can say. Thanks you so much for this wonderful comment, and I hope you get out to play again.
You are a very good teacher of guitar, cause you play the licks and play it slow and then you explain the reason behind the lick in each situation. I am new to guitar and can follow you licks to start playing some blues, pretty quickly, thank you.
Thanks a lot Marc. I Played about 1 hour to memorize the first lick. Did that with different backing tracks in C7 (but to have fun in this routine i combine it with shifting horizontal en vertical on the neck with the boxes and shapes I already know. It helps me understand the neck, because suddenly some pieces fits together like a puzzle).I will do the same routine with the rest of 9 licks. So a lot of hours to go. I have to say that your way of teaching to learn blues solo is so clean and easy to understand. There is a structure in your lessons that I can't find with other teachers on YT. Keep on going man.
Fantastic Marc you put really good lessons together. Not just the technical side which is excellent. The tab is clear and easy to follow. They are well thought out. Really appreciated. Thank you
I'm on lick 6 now. Have so much fun playing these licks random in a blues track C (mostly Chicago blues track). From time to time I see that they fit in other licks I already know. That open my view to understand the neck, shapes, etc. Your lessons ar so well explained Marc! Playing for about 6 months now. Since I follow you lessons, I made a massive improvement!
I just discovered your videos last night. I have no idea why it took so long as I must have watched thousands of guitar videos on RUclips over many years. Every now and then someone pops up who not only understands what guitarists want, not only understands how to teach it but also how to keep viewers engaged. Thanks you for sharing and best wishes.
Not only are the lessons getting better and better, if i may say so i think your guitar playing is getting better and better Marc you are still evolving, a great sign and Thanks.
Wow, thanks! I do feel like my playing is improving by making these lessons. It'f forcing me to work hard and come up with new licks and ideas which is making me improve. Thanks for the very kind words
I love this lesson. I really like that you put the Tab on the screen. Many don’t. Also after I learn it I like I can go to Patreon and play along with you like a band member. It’s great for those of us who don’t know anyone who plays. Once you know the song, It’s more fun playing with someone rather than sitting and playing by yourself.
Hi Marc. Was just watching your latest video (5 Best Blues...). This C7 impressed me much. So I switched to the lesson and started to learn. Great teaching as always!!
good teacher! /player...you teach like you remember what its like learning.....well explained, good technique/note choice....ill be watching just just subscribed....
Brilliant Marc, as usual. Thanks for all the fantastic videos that you do for us all. I’ve been listening to Northbound for a while now and loving it mate 👍🏻 thanks again buddy 👍🏻🇬🇧🎸
Very pretty melodic performance that nicely demos how to play for slow Blues. As a guitarist for book trailers about comics who seeks inspiration, your instruction here is nice since you clearly explain how to bend various tones and hammer on while playing melodic lines. Cheers!
Hey Marc, Geoff Patch below in the comments took the words right out of my mouth, except for the getting up on stage thing (too scary for me:0/), but you do boost my confidence level and my understanding of the blues and it's because of your lessons and how you teach them. Thank you..
Marc, i have to tell you this: this video is one of your best videos. I really enjoyed it, and this video is helping me so much, i am very happy with it. Greetings from Padua, west zone of Buenos Aires.
Hi Marc! That's a sweet bluesy solo with some great licks. I took a listen to Northbound and you got a tight band there. Liked what I heard. All the best from a " still too darned hot....Phoenix, AZ "........
This is an excellent soloing series you've got going here, Marc! I'm more advanced than this but I still get something out of it--always something new to learn in guitar land! Keep them coming!
An other great lesson Mark, with your lessons i could be an other Gary Moore. I was 75 last Monday as i told you my daughter bought me a 59 les Paul so decided to treat myself to a fender jaguar.
@@MarcGuitarVideos Hi Mark, it has not arrived yet some time this week, let you know what its like . A guy I just did some building work for had one but he wouldn't let me play it, but when I saw it I wanted one. Take care..eddie.
Great lesson as usual! The strat sounds amazing also! I’d like to hear a side by side comparison of the single coil strat against your green LP with humbuckers playing identical licks.
Thanks! I explain it a bit at the end of the video, but it's a Mexican strat on the neck pickup, into a TRex Diva drive pedal into the clean channel of a Blackstar HT5. The pedal is set so it sounds like Tube screamer, but with the gain really backed off.
Great lesson, thanks. But I have a question: In lick 4 you say that you're highlighting the notes of the F seventh chord. But the lick ends on the note F (10th fret on G string) which belongs to the F major chord. The note belonging to the F seventh is the D sharp note, on the 8th fret of the G string. It sounds alright to play it both ways though.
Thank you! I'm pretty sure that was just guitar (Mex Strat) into amp (clean channel of Blackstar HT5R) with the reverb coming from the amp. I sure the only pedal I used was a really cheap analogue delay pedal.

Practicing these lesson i can finally bend notes correctly. I will remember it forever!

Thanks Wolfgang! I seemed to do more talking in this one than usual. I hope some of it is helpful

Hi Dean - that's great, that's exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks for the great comment.
@@MarcGuitarVideos You're welcome Mr. Blues. 🌝🎸👍
Helped so much to understand what to play over each chord with out over kill or senseless noodling😁

Hi Tim - thanks for the kind words about Northbound. I bet Phoenix is still hot. Over here, it's rain and wind so very clearly summer is over
@@MarcGuitarVideos We have had the hottest summer on record. Too many triple digit days and 105F today so starting to cool down.....All the best.
Very, Very Good.❤️
Thanks, I really appreciate the comment
Nice playing son ❤️🎸🎸
Cheers Jeff!
Thx Marc. Needless to say I listen to alot of EC. Cheers.
24 nights was what first got me into the blues. Still a huge influence.

Hi mark, jaguar has arrived its a 60s ventura surf green. Only just unbox and plugged it into my amp but it sounds great..eddie.
Thanks again Marc and I love the new stratocaster what guitar is better for these and sound, none in my estimation..
Yes, I love strats
Great lesson as usual! The strat sounds amazing also! I’d like to hear a side by side comparison of the single coil strat against your green LP with humbuckers playing identical licks.
Great idea!
Great lesson, how are you getting your sound?

Do you have a video on how to play rhythm and lead with a looper pedal? I just got a looper and I don't think I'm using it to its full capabilities.
I have a looper lesson in the works. Watch the coming weeks!
Для меня это урок №4. Спасибо за труд.
Спасибо! Я надеюсь, что это будет полезно для вас
