I do that with the Yak-38, but it's not as effective of a plane as the harriers. I hope that it gets downtiered to 9.0 for ground battles once they split the ground and air BRs. As always great and informative video. I was thinking as I just unlock the Viper and unlocked the napalm bombs and was wondering how many does it take to take a base. Its a little known fact that if a WT player concentrates and thinks about a plane hard enough, a Tim's Variety review will suddenly appear out of nowhere.
This slight change in the order that info is presented is perfect! The tips and game info first would make videos a lot easier to quickly reference before trying them in game. It's a very small thing but I appreciate it!
I had made a community post about it recently, I'm re-arranging the chapters in this and another vid coming up in a couple of weeks, so I can come back to them in a month and check the retention stats. May or may not become a more permanent change. TBD.
@TimsVariety Ahhhh, ok, I completely missed that one I guess! Well personally I like the change a lot. I watch each basic review entirely at least once, but when I unlock the plane, I'll go back and skip past the history stuff to hear any tips about the vehicle again.
Hey Tim. Love the content as always. I just got the AV-8B Plus and I was curious on how you changed what display was showing when you showed the cockpit. From the RWR, Map, and Radar!
So fun fact: The internal FLIR isn't actually supposed to exist (or be a FLIR in the first place). The AV-8B N/A has a gimbaled camera on the nose for CCRP bombing (but also can slave AGM-65) and one on top of the nose for giving the HUD a thermal viewer for night time and for giving the pilot "targets of opportunity" (little arrows pointing at hot targets the thermal camera finds). Those two CANNOT be linked together whatsoever, and on the AV-8B+ it is very noticeable that the nose camera is infact gone to fit the radar set. The same issue is on the Harrier GR.7 (with the DMT being a FLIR), and I made a bug report on it a while ago.
IMHO this is one of those things where they tried to translate an IRL system/implementation into a game system/mechanic, and ended up doing so in a way that makes everyone unhappy in different ways.
I made a community post about it recently, I'm changing the chapter layout for a couple of upcoming vids (but not all) so I can come back after a month and see if/how it impacts the retention statistics. TBD if it becomes a permanent change long-term.
