The 930 spx runs great if you keep it clean. I shoot mine a bit and it started stalling. When I cleaned the gas piston and under the gas piston rings good along with the port holes the piston goes in it ran all day and night. The addition of the gray Or3gum piston pusher sleeve that's ported and my 930 runs like never before between cleanings over 650 plus rounds.
Got mine back in the days for $550 for the Gen 3 which addressed the previous Gens’ reliability issues. Didn’t felt the need to spend more than $1k for a shotgun so the 930 Spx is my main HD 12 gauge.
There are several reasons why shotguns are ideal for home defense. This 930spx is a winner for sure. First they offer power that a handgun can not. Second they offer versatility that no handgun nor rifle ever could. Third, no other platform offers the ability to transition from interior to exterior like a shotgun can. Fourth, they are callable of transitioning from home defense to hunting everything from rabbits to deer and then going back to being for home defense.
If you like the 930, you'll cream your pants with the 940. Here's a technical tip; use 1000 grit (that's one thousand grit) sandpaper a "polish" the outside of the magazine tube to a mirror finish. Then wipe it with silicone spray. It'll run the lowest base , lightest loads you can find.
I'm fairly new to guns and am having trouble finding good educational resources for weapon attachments etc. What are you using to attach the sling to the factory mounts on the underside of the handguard and stock? I google and just can't find anything direct.
If it has a standard sling stud I.E. a stud with a whole through it get a sling that has a standard sling swivel and you will be good if it has like a sling bar (looks like a hollowed out rectangle) magpul makes a sling claw that works pretty well.
Sorry guys it just pains an old man to pay 400 dollars more for a 500 Mossberg because it has rifle sights and says "Tactical" on the box. CQB Nothin better than a 12 gauge
@@pinslayer4579 I paid around $700 for mine, worth every penny. Can’t beat 7 rounds down range as fast as I can pull the trigger. Best home defense shotgun money can buy, old man
I am a huge shotgun fan I think 30 rds with a suppressed ar in 300 is pretty outstanding option I sure wouldn't want too shoot a shotgun in the house its not fun
While it's not fun, it's a pretty hard guard when you are send between 12 and 27 lead balls down range with each trigger pull. It's not the best for EVERY situation but it's very well rounded
The 930 for the money is an extremely solid performer, I love mine. The only thing I might say is better on the m4 is the fact that it is inertia driven, but that being said, I've never had a problem with the 930s.
Bought mine in 2016 and still love it, great for HD and hunting.

I agree with you 100%. A good shotgun is really a must to have.
Just picked one up from Scheels today! Pistol Grip instead for 649. Loads of fun no doubt! It like shooting 9 rounds of 9mm all at once with OO!
Dang! 649 is a steal! Congrats!!

Looks like a great gun! thanks for sharing.
Thank you, It has been a wonderful piece of my collection!
Got one! Love it
Awesome!!
Shotguns for home defense indeed my Bearded Brother! 👍🏿👍🏿
Yes indeed!
@@projectredbeard2199 AR is a good close second. But for close quarters…can’t beat the 12 gauge in my humble opinion. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
@Idek Fam I'm not much on 5.56. I like the ar10 and my AK, haha. But close quarters the shotgun is king.

Mossberg 930 spx la mejor para defender el hogar .. saludos desde de México..
Yes, very much so! Greetings!
I really like mine. I have a 930 tactical, just not the six. it has a bead of the front sight
They are nice, I almost picked up one just like that to have another one haha
I much preferred the tactical pistol grip and bought it, it’s been solid for me. Only come across one type of low brass rounds that it would not cycle
Yeah, for me, the traditional just seemed more comfortable. What low brass didn't it like? I haven't run across anything yet that it won't eat.
@@projectredbeard2199 It was Remington 2 1/2 inch target shot, it would not eject the casing
@@steveg3442 oh okay, I don't have any of that.

Does any know for sure if there is a break in of 50 to 100 shells , to keep the gun from jamming up ?
Run 1400 fps loads for atleast 2 box's has been my experience with my spx and my 940 hell even my m4 benelli chokes up with low brass bird shot
Red beard, you're a big boy. But if you turn your body to square with the target you'll feel even less recoil. This mostly goes for the smaller guys.
Can you please share the light you have on it?
It's just a streamlight polytac with a 1 inch tube mounted flashlight mount
Its got that kick
Nice job
Thank you!
Excelente video , hermosa mossberg, quiero comprar una escopeta cal. 12 spx
Thank you! They are definitely worth the money!

Can this shotgun hold 10+1 3" shells in any configuration? Or only 2 2/3"?
You could get an extended tube if you wanted high capacity 3" capability. But that would kinda defeat the purpose of the shorter barrel.
@@projectredbeard2199 Okay thanks. Keep it up brother👊
Nice vid
Thank you
I have a 930 black water edition and a Benelli M4. I actually like the 930 better and it was 1/3 the price

@@projectredbeard2199 the m4 has less recoil but it is also heavier too
@John Doe yeah for me the recoil is a non issue. But it's said that the inertia driven guns tent to be more reliable
What kind of flashlight mount is that?
It is the L&M single ring shotgun mag tube flashlight mount.
Do you know if it's the 1" or 25mm mount?
Funny thing. I never notice frowns in shotgunning videos.
Ole smile makers haha
Hey Mossberg this shotty is begging for a bayonet lug. Then it will be the ULTIMATE TACTICAL SHOTGUN!!!🤘🤘
Lol, well, now I want a bayonet lug
@@projectredbeard2199 it would be cool.
@TryNsurviveN the advertisement could say "When home defense gets... defensier"
