    Its basically an English tradition to be a raging alcoholic between the ages of 12-18. Some stay that way for life but most people grow out of it and become responsible drinkers.

      My sister drinks that much she now might have to get surgery and she is only 12 she brought vodka into p7 when she was abit younger fot everyone blocked but it's all fun and games till now she has to get checked she might have a failing liver and I don't know If we're the same blood type because we have different dads so U just needa watch Ur siblings cus they do copy U I didn't believe it till I seen it I'm only 17

    If we go back a few hundred years, everybody was drinking alcoholic beverages, even kids. The reason was that the water was often filthy and alcoholic beverages were the only safe option to not get sick.

      I’m sure they’ve since changed it, but you used to be able to drink in a pub while underage so long as you had a guardian *and* a meal to accompany the drink.
      Limited to beers, wines, and ciders; you couldn’t order a gin and tonic or whiskey on the rocks.

    i'm german and i stopped drinking alcohol when i was like 19. all of us were drunk every week from 13-19, and if i say drunk, i mean a bottle of vodka drunk.
    culturual difference i guess. didn't hurt me, might have hurt others.

      It really depends on the area. You have to remember that the US is much bigger, so there is going to be much more diverse standards. In certain part of the south, it's very common, although illegal. Many people will drink with adult family members under supervision. Some just get drunk regardless, but it's often seen as normal teen activities. You know the "we were all kids once" gets used a lot when it comes to underage drinking.
      I am 20 and I haven't touched booze in 2 years eves. Half of my friends are past their drunk phase as well. Obviously, that's anecdotal, but there are plenty of sources that show how common underage drinking is in the US; I cannot link them due to RUclips. I also do not think unsupervised drinking is good for minors, but it is normalized in many parts of the US.

      No one said its unacceptable to drink Guinness. Giving children it is not accepted. And yeah you can buy guns from Walmart, well over 95% of gun crimes however are not committed with legally purchased firearms.

    It’s not illegal in the U.K. any child over 5 is allowed alcohol if the parents allow it. I remember as a kid maybe 8 or 9 I would be allowed a little bit of my grandads brown ale when I was watching the football with him.
