What test should my rheumatologist or primary do? Ive battled chronic inflammatory illness for many years, diag lupus, then RA, fibromyalgia..etc, i got a buried tick, that left me swollen, feverish sore for days, then 2 years later i get the bullseye rash!. I took a pic, but i don't think my rhumi gives a crap, id like to ask my primary if he would test for it. But after so many years, will it still show up in bloodwork? Someone PLEASE give me advice, im so tired of never having definitive answers. I guess im just going to be sick for the remainder of my days

If you still haven't been treated then your doctor needs to do a ELISA blood test and treat you with doxycycline antibiotic. The bulleye rash is one of the first symptoms and usually happens within a couple days or weeks of being infected.

One wonders whether those with undiagnosed lyme can accidentally transfer the disease when they regularly donate blood. In other words, those good samaritans that regularly donate blood may also unknowingly be lyme positive and potentially spreading the disease to recipients of their blood products. Also those with lyme, may also unknowingly have babesia (microti or duncani) or tick borne relapsing fever which could also be transmitted through their donated blood. Anyways, it would be nice if someone with better knowledge on this can comment on the potential spread of these infections via contaminated blood products.

What are many of the symptoms?

Lyme is the great imitator. Common are migraines, massive brain fog, fatigue. Often misdiagnosed as depression, fibromyalgia, MS…. And large percentage of people never knew they were bit and/or didn’t have a rash. I have a playlist a mile long with more info and more resources if you are interested. Hope you are well. 💚 Sandy

@@notsosilentmajority1 Check out “Generation Lyme” and “Rise Above Lyme” channels here on RUclips. Lmk if you would like more trounces. Know this the tests for Lyme have an unfortunately high percentage of false negatives, so keep pursuing/alt doctors and trust your gut.
