Fire Emblem Warriors. I'd loved Hyrule Warriors and was so excited for FEW, but it was just so bland. This is making me realize that the Wii U didn't fail Nintendo. Nintendo failed the Wii U. And Metroid. And Star Fox. And Animal Crossing (at the time). They just got greedy.
As much as I love the game for number 9 I can understand why you were disappointed by it. You had the expectations of a revolutionary game and 9 was a new genre for the Mario franchise that was fairly short. I was similar with sonic generations 3ds. Amazing game I loved all the levels but I beat it in a day and realized quickly that was it and it was the only way I had to play generations for a long time so it wasn’t like a bonus that was the meat of it. Like I said 9 was a childhood game of mine but while I didn’t have the same experience you did or game past I still respect and understand that opinion.
What happened with Star Fox Zero still makes me sad. We’ve waited a decade for a new Star Fox title, and instead of getting another great game like 64 or Assault, we get another retread of the Lylat Wars with a clunky controller gimmick. What hurts he most is how poorly it sold. I hope Nintendo realizes WHY is failed, rather than put all the blame on Star Fox as a whole. I’d like to get an actual Star Fox title on Switch sometime.
@@nodtomodley9114 Starlink failed because it was Toys-to-Life. Even if it was well-integrated and not at all required to 100% the game, the mere existence of it was enough to turn many people away instantly.
Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, took the best story in Pokemon, removed all of Lillie's fantastic development, turned Lusamine from a Gendo Ikari abusive parent to misunderstood scientist, all to take a great story about trauma from abusive parenting and replace it with a boring generic stop the evil legendary plot. It also made both the anime and manga worse too for trying to fit in the Ultra stuff instead of sticking to the original.
@An unbiased Nintendo fan Yeah, i wouldn't call trash like Other M and Sticker Star as "pretty good". That's an insult to the actual good games of those series.
For me it’s Pokémon X and Y. The whole game felt soulless and way too easy with the weakest post game since Ruby and Sapphire. I found mega evolutions wasn’t given to the right Pokémon as most were already powerful. While Pokémon that could actually benift from Megas (ones that were weak but their evolution method made it impossible to give them actual evolutions) like Decatty, Raichu and Sunflora were passed over. And the abysmal story was accentuated as it was coming off the heals of Generation V which had made great strides in the series’ stories. Thankful most of my issues were fixed in ORAS and Sun and Moon
Ilitterally couldn't be disappointed with it seeing as how it was my first pokemon game lol I don't find it as bad ws some say but what do you mean by 'heals of gen V'? that sounds like series was damaged or something and gen V fixed it
Jayden C I mean Heels as in footsteps. And to be clear it’s not a bad game I find it a decent RPG but given I have high standards for the franchise and I was 14 years old when it released I expected a lot more
oh...okay I get it heh and I understand having high expectations not sure If I would have had high expectations maybe and I guess since you were 14 back then makes you 4 years older then me
I agree with you on most of these as well. And matters weren’t made better when we got sticker star 2! Also I’m so glad to see another video made by you again! I love your channel and this was a great video!
Should Ziplash even count? From the way you described it you found it disappointing when it was announced so how could the finish product disappoint you?
Remember how it got censored resulting in the international version not getting the Hot Spring DLC? Yeah I haven't played TMS but I know about the censorship thanks to someone called TheMetalBlade5. If you don't know about the censorship I recommend checking out the video he made about it.
Metroid Other M was fantastic though, no idea why people are so needlessly negative about it. Just cause it's not Prime nor Super Metroid/Fusion doesn't make it a bad game. In fact, it makes it a great experiment and one that tackles Metroid's biggest shortcoming: character development. It gets a 10/10 from me.
gojira4life Idk about you, but I’d take a badass and wordless Samus over an annoying and emotional Samus that narrates every second of the game any day of the week.
@@amirgarcia547 I find both depictions of the character entertaining. I am content living with the fact that in one game she's a wordless badass and in the other she's a badass with some humanity to her. You can have both, believe it or not.
gojira4life See, the main problem I have with Samus’s portrayal in Other M is that it entirely retcons how she’s acted in other games. If this was a younger, more inexperienced Samus who had yet to get much combat experience, then I’d be able to buy it. But for a Samus that’s been through all the 2D Metroid games besides Fusion and the three Prime games to be done in by an ice blast to the back, have seperation anxiety with a Metroid she barely spent any time with, have an inferiority complex to a guy that’s ten times less the person she is and have a random PTSD panic attack at seeing Ridley despite doing him in without batting an eye countless times? Yeah I definitely don’t buy it.
I definitely think Sticker star would be a beloved gem if it wasn't a Paper Mario game. Like, "Hey, do you remember that RPG on the 3DS with the sticker system? Yeah it wasn't perfect but it was a cool idea!" But because it IS a Paper Mario game it had a lot to follow, and it just couldn't
I don't know, Luigi's Mansion is probably the only game in here that is good, and maybe StarFox Zero and Other M if you don't care about story or controls, the rest of the games are trash.
Thank you for noticing! Most non-mainline Pokémon games are excellent (seriously, some of them are even better than the mainline Pokemon games) and Wii Music is a fun little time waster.
Luigi's Mansion really surprised me, but your opinions were justified. Aside from that one though, this list is made up of games EVERYONE hates. That proves how terrible they are!
I’m surprised Fire Emblem Fates wasn’t on here. The Conquest pathway has amazing gameplay, the music is great, and some of the characters are good. But oh god everything else is very eh
It was alright. Anybody who claims they are a fan of Paper Mario, but says their favourite title in the series is Sticker Star will be crucified on the spot, however. Sadly the only two titles in the series I have ever played are Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star, and I (thankfully) prefer Super Paper Mario.

I feel it's worth noting that Team Ninja isn't responsible for the stupider of the decisions in Other M, as they're often unfairly attributed with. Sakamoto had full creative control, and was behind things like Wii-Mote only controls and Samus sounding wooden in the English version.
Mentions Sticker Star. Chugga's life has gained more meaning.

Arceus' Triforce thanks! Zeke is one of my favorite characters from the game
@@wildfiresnap Yeah, Zeke is definitely one of the best characters in the game. I actually convinced one of my friends to buy the game, by showing her the first cut scene of Zeke.
Arceus' Triforce cool, are you subbed to Luxin, he’s one of my favorite Xenoblade RUclipsrs
Doesn't help that they essentially repeated the same mistake with color splash thinking that sticker star was well received.
3:38 This Game Blows
This is a subject you don't see very often. My most disappointing Nintendo games:
- Donkey Kong 64: I was a big fan of Donkey Kong Country but this game just had boring game design and was the epitome of collecting stuff
- Yoshi's Island DS: Also a big fan of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and this game underwent the DK64 treatment with the more = better credo
- Super Mario Sunshine and The Wind Waker: while good games on their own they were a letdown compared with their predecessor(s), a new console was supposed to be progress, but this was just not the case
- Star Fox Adventures: I really looked forward to this game as back in the N64 era when it was called Dinosaur Planet, but Rare's swanesong is so uninspiring and mediocre
Maybe a good follow up video (whenever you feel like) could be Top Ten Pleasantly Surprising Nintendo Games? For ones that you didn't expect to enjoy as much as you did
Agreed, I think that would make for a much more interesting and unpredictable list
This is making me realize that the Wii U didn't fail Nintendo. Nintendo failed the Wii U. And Metroid. And Star Fox. And Animal Crossing (at the time). They just got greedy.
Samus is probably my favorite video game character of all time and OH BOY do I HATE Other M!
Vishnu don’t worry so does every Metroid Fan on the planet including me...
I knew the moment I saw this on my recommended that Sticker star would be in here somewhere.
Loving the weekly uploads
I believe StarFox Zero works better as a 2-player game. Like a reverse Battle Toads.
Considering that Starlink failed to sell despite flying the Star Fox flag, I'm going with this franchise is just flat out cursed.
No More Heroes is what Red Steel wished it was
Nintendo is like making love when it's bad it's still pretty good
Sticker star was not “pretty good”
Nah, they can make some genuinely bad games every now and then.
An unbiased Nintendo fan - Replace Super Mario Party with Xenoblade 2, and I’ll agree.
@An unbiased Nintendo fan Yeah, i wouldn't call trash like Other M and Sticker Star as "pretty good". That's an insult to the actual good games of those series.

I genuinely feel bad for the Paper Mario fans for what happened with sticker star.

Oh god it feels good to hear someone else who was so disappointed in Sticker Star!
Ugh, Sticker Star. The epitome of backtracking in Paper Mario games.
Yeah it says something when they decide to borrow from the only bad part of thousand year door for gameplay ideas
The sad thing is it's backtracking was STILL better than Super Paper Mario's
@@Dracomut yeah although super paper Mario was where things started to go down hill its plot and story were really strong but its gameplay was lacking
Remember that time Fire Emblem and Tokyo Mirage did a crossover that had almost nothing to do with Fire Emblem? I don’t want to either.
Drew Grady and yet people want a switch port
@Trujillo 2020 I honestly do not agree with the assessment that Other M isn't a good Metroid game.
But yeah, opinions I guess...
gojira4life Idk about you, but I’d take a badass and wordless Samus over an annoying and emotional Samus that narrates every second of the game any day of the week.
@Trujillo 2020 I can understand their point of view as well but I simply do not agree with them.

Not just my favorite video of yours in a long time, but my favorite gaming countdown period in a long time.
To be fair, the fact that more than half of the games on this list are still really good is a positive statement on Nintendo's track record.
I don't know, Luigi's Mansion is probably the only game in here that is good, and maybe StarFox Zero and Other M if you don't care about story or controls, the rest of the games are trash.
You’re probably the kind that defends non-mainline Pokémon games or Wii Music
Loloooolol
Ehh nah, they have flaws but they are far from trash.
Not really, quite a few of these games have some defenders which you can easily find in this comment section
@@Dracomut I'm fine with that. But are there really people defending Other M and Sticker Star?!
Indeed, especially Other M whose only really big flaw is it’s story
3:58 "This game blows"
I’m surprised Fire Emblem Fates wasn’t on here. The Conquest pathway has amazing gameplay, the music is great, and some of the characters are good. But oh god everything else is very eh
-The graphics ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)-
It was still overall a good game
Fact: Samus talking about "The Baby" is only in the game's intro. She only says the word 12 times in the entirety of the game.
That's still 11 times too many
