@Gen. JFH Physics as understood by human beings are the forces that keep us tethered to the ground. Mario defied physics in the video by leaping into the air, stopping and leaping again, something that is humanly impossible. Videogame logic is no substitute for real world common sense.
For instance, in Super Mario Galaxy 2, you can walk upside down despite being on a planet that has it's own artificial gravity and center of mass. I should've said that Mario is defying the laws of Gravity, not Physics, though the two are closely intertwined to a point. Bowser's projectiles should've killed mario upon contact. An objects force is relative to its weight, speed and mass (I.E a Sledgehammer will cause more damage than a regular hammer due to its increased weight and size but swing slower and require more muscle to lift. A regular hammer will swing quicker but do less harm due to a lighter build and less weight, A more concrete example would be Atom bombs vs regular ones
Atom bombs are composed of Heavy water, Radioactive particles and an explosive trigger When it explodes, it Devastates the surrounding area, blankets it in radiation and kills anything on contact. Direct exposure is fatal, indirect (I.E looking from a distance) is still fatal as the shockwave and mushroom cloud and still get to you and blind you for life.
Contrasting this is the regular bombs used for Air raids. They are still highly damaging but the fallout is less severe, the chance of fatality is low if you are not in the area (bombs usually have an effective blast range of 10, perhaps 50 miles, feel free to correct) surrounding the explosives. Indirect exposure is impossible as there is no after effect of the bombings save for smoke and fire.
Going back to the video, Mario should have died IMMEDIATELY upon contact with the hammers, should've fallen into the Lava or worse. That's what physics means and that's what i meant. Someone needs to go back to high school

2:34 - Yellow Toad is visible for a split-second as he takes the place of one of the bricks as Mario wall jumps off of the moving platform, before wall jumping again straight for the axe.

1. Dash dodged the hammer storm in time
