You can parry Gwyn but you can't parry the feels
Ahh solaire the first born of Gwyn, that aged like fine milk....
To be fair we had close to zero information about it and solaire was the best candidate
If you think evidence to the contrary makes this idea any less valid you don't really understand how myth making and mythology work. Like Bernard in dark souls 2, the fact that rumours or aspect point to something much bigger than reality. To learn in the end that a mere mortal(undead) could gather enough fame to become deified in the eyes of many is magnificent and beautiful. The scientific method doesn't diminish any of that. ( in RL I'm very much for it, but this is a prime example of the power of the fantastical)
@@TheBicycleRepairman2 do you forget about the nameless king?
@@skipping88No, my point is that it helped the myth building surrounding Solaire. so the fact that the theory is disproven (by nameless king) doesn't mean there is no value in the original theory.
@@TheBicycleRepairman2 who is Bernard ?
31:10 Vaati:"We all remember the help Tarkus gave us that day"
Chris: "Who's Tarkus??"
LOL I was confused by the meme too. I never bothered summoning him because was super scared about using humanity, so I never even knew he existed until much later
Me: Who's Chris?
@@PatrickSilent Lol same. When has mapocolops mentioned his name is Chris?
@@shreksthongg In a q & a I guess. Not sure.
In my first playthrough, after beating the Bell Gargoyles I went all the way down to the Tomb of the Giants, right up to the golden fog wall. The crestfallen warrior said Blighttown was down below, and the Catacombs were also down below - as well as right in front of me - so I just assumed that was the way to go.
Getting all the way down there was already a colossal pain in the ass, but making my way back out of without the ability to warp, and piss poor stats and gear, was a thoroughly unpleasant experience.
That sounds absolutely awful
Dude that's harsh. You cant be the only one lol
@@milkysue5496 and he wasn't, experienced the same thing but thank God I noticed, I had a divine weapon tucked away
I made the same mistake
Damn I did the same thing😂 Tomb of the Giants doesn’t even feel that bad for me when I play it normally cuz of how hard it was my first time.
“Yet an undead who would die for something has nothing to fear for death simply becomes a stepping stone to his goal”. I love that.
Dark Souls lore is just masterpiece
In one of ymfah's completely bonkers Dark Souls guides, he posits the lore theory that Tarkus reached Anor Londo by getting thrown by the Golem, and that's why that window is broken. 🤣
Seems legit.
and thats where the iron golem skip came from
"...but despite futility, we do these things anyway. By fighting against the inevitable, we carve MEANING from MEANINGLESSNESS..."
Damn love this guy's videos.
Your playthrough of DS1 was the best i’ve seen, and I’m so incredibly hyped to watch you play the rest of the series. Super glad you’re doing them in order with 2 next.
The episodes can’t come fast enough :)
I played them in this order 3,1,2 😎
His playthrough was actually riddled with tons of player induced difficulty and poor weapon choices overall, he didn't experiment he found a lightning spear and hid behind it, he didn't grow as a souls player he regressed this was an entertaining playthrough yes but not a good one.
@@rynnziolkowski4642 It was a first playthrough dude, what do you expect, these games have an insane learning curve. Watching him figure everything out, take his time, read descriptions, learn about the world, pay attention to the environments, and keep an open attitude towards the game is the part that makes it great.
Literally every single truly blind playthrough of someone's first souls game is going to have a ton of player induced difficulty as they learn the systems, plenty of poor weapon choices as they figure out how weapons should be used, and relying on things they have found to serve them well.
Maybe I should've qualified that I meant best BLIND playthrough specifically though! I see your point!
@@rynnziolkowski4642 u clearly don't understand Dark souls if u say he didnt grow as a Souls player just for that
Artorias and Sif's story makes my eye tear up everytime i remember it, fighting prime evil itself until you have nothing left, and what does he do with his last breath? He protects his dog, he protects his friend, i just can't take it man
I just ran through the whole series to get to this place. I’m pumped to hear that you’re doing the whole series! It’ll be interesting to see what your opinion is of 1 through 3 and how they differ from game to game.
Awesome series man keep it up.
Just to clear things up, were still not sure if Manus is ACTUALLY the furtive pygmy. At the time of this video he was the best candidate though.
True, but I still lean towards it.
he's not, the pigmy is so easily forgotten for a reason, nobody even remembers his name, if i 'm not wrong he got the nameless king treatment
@@Sercroc yeah its more likely he was one of the many pygmy lords from the ringed city
I know im a year late but im pretty sure the furtive pygmy has no name if im correct he/she used their power to give humans humanity
I think it makes the most thematic sense IF we take DS1 as a standalone game. However DS2 and more importantly DS3 kinda poked some holes in the theory. Still a fun one nonetheless.
This series was such a great watch. You really have a skill in making people feel like they're with you on your journey. Watching this I really felt like i was playing this game for the first time. Probably the closest i'd get to that feeling, short of finding some way of erasing my memory
I'd never seen the prepare to cry videos before, and that Sif segment blindsided me with tears and feels
Its always nice to see schocked people about ds lore
Take my like you illiterate fool!
I'm heartbroken that your first experience with some of these wasn't the remastered versions, but it may be better anyway if you plan on playing through all the games to just wait until you finish DS3 to watch those, since they do include content and lore from the newer games.
Haha yeah it was recommended not to watch the remastered versions until later
@@Mapocolops Yeah, the remastered series is pretty good, but of course theres spoilers for the later games.
In a non-spoilery way to explain this though, basically a couple things in the original videos were theories that were generally accepted or liked, and were later either proven or disproven, as theories often are.
@@zeallust8542 Personally speaking I never really liked the lore additions from the games after the first, so I just pretend any lore from those games doesn't exist when talking about DS1. Which is why I'm kinda glad he decided to watch the original playlist instead of the remastered one.
@@juliagoetia then you have missed the entire point of the lore, in truth you must assess all the lore from all the games to really understand the story of a world built upon a flame. It is an inherently broken world, a world that has no choice but to die unless fed a constant supply of kindling, but the world is not meant to do such a thing the flame is meant to fade and the dark age of man is meant to come. Yet the gods in their fear of the dark threw countless souls at the flames first there was lordaron then drangleic, and finally lothric. Carefully study of drangleic reveals even if only the barest hint of lordaron those hints are there that drangleic is lordaron and the general events of dark souls three show you without any controvertible evidence that lothric is lordaron. Furthermore the very designs of the 3 cities of the gods shows you the various effects of the flame fading. First we get an early fading flame in one, the world sucks yes but only here in lordaron the gods are mostly falling apart here with Gwyn's daughter having fled anor londo, and lies used to hide her absence. In the second we see a world where the flame isn't fading but a major obstacle to the rekindling has come about in the queen, a daughter of Manus, in the first game we are only told that you could go hollow if you die, but not why in two we are told blatantly right at the start we go hollow because with each death we lose a bit of our memories, and eventually there will be nothing left of us, this world looks healthier than lordaron but it's only a facade as dark souls 3 shows us, in three we see now the world is tired broken and hurting badly the flame has now been linked untold countless numbers of times and in it's broken state gives us deeper revelations about things we once used to think differently about, this is not accidental and I dare say all three games were fully written story wise before 1 ever released. My evidence for this is just how well all three games lores still make sense if taken as a whole. Indeed in dark souls three we are shown that there is no chosen undead there is no fated one, it will take literally anyone that can survive to it's chamber. Even unkindled ash that originally failed to link the flame. Yes that's right in dark souls 3 you are someone who in the past tried to link the fire and failed. Now you've been resurrected because the flame is fading again and even previous lord's of cinder that successfully linked the flame have come to realize nah that shit sucked and did nothing to help,. (my feels go out to giant boy from 3) and they fled their thrones, refusing to link the flame, it is also in three that the story of Havel becomes more clear.
@@rynnziolkowski4642 Yeah I'm not reading all that, I seriously do not care.
The whole Oscar thing is so cool. I never knew about this and I wish it wasn’t cut content.
There's a fair bit of environmental storytelling in the Souls games. Look not only to the item descriptions but the world itself for the answers.
Also, to be clear, Gwyn linked the fire with only his own Lord Soul, which he fragmented and gave shards of away to Seath and the Four Kings. You gathered up ALL the Lord Souls as well as your own and linked the fire. Logically, that should yield much better results.
Really enjoyed watching this entire play through - I’m so impressed at how you managed to go through the whole game blind without being completely demoralized. Well done!
As you may know by know many of old DS1 theory's was debunked or updated with DS3, Vaati made new videos as well. Also Hawkshaw's channel is great for DS1 Deep lore and theory's too.
Agree with all comments.. definitely best blind playthrough of Dark Souls I have watched! Excited for DS2 playthrough.. as I am too currently playing souls games in release order.
Omg, I just finished writing my essay on the Gwyn video and now you already have the lore video!
Thanks for this reaction.
As for Oscar & Shiva , I think they're cut concepts, rather than something that's still accessible in the game, without modding.
Also, there is a remastered version of the Daughters of Chaos, reflecting than, only from re-examining the facts, the general consensus has changed.
@Femboy Friday ...only attainable through modding. That's what the original comment said.
VaatiVidya Prepare To Cry Edition video is where you are the bad guy without you even know it. Gotta feel terrible XD
I like when you smile at 34:39 when Vaati mention the only path available. I smile too
1:36:12 Flashbang
1:39:21 YOU'RE THE BAD GUY
1:40:20 If you not kill her fast enough, you can see her animation. From praying to hugging her own body because you hurt her. You kill her so that you can get that sweet sweet Fire Keeper Soul even though she's unarmed and never fight you back. In that world, she only has her dear sister, Quelaag. Both of them speak the same tongue. But you Donned that ring yet never uttered a single word pretending to be her sister.
Not gonna lie, her lore is the most disturbing for me. I cried so hard out of guilt and stop playing the game for a couple of months. Her voice..... My god
The true Dark Souls starts now.
Love your souls videos have watched all of them, can't wait for the ds2 playthrough, its my favorite souls game
For Tarkus, I prefer the theory that he was picked up and thrown by the Iron Golem through the broken window into the painting guardians’ room. But that’s just me.
Yeah, that's much cooler than him just slipping and falling like an idiot.
@Yo Momma One problem however is, that Sen's fortress is full of pathways just as thin if not thinner than the beams in that room in Anor Londo, and they also have moving axes trying to hit you, so if Tarkus could get through Sen's it doesn't make much sense that he would lose balance up there.
@Yo Momma also he would have to have been thrown up a mountain.
@Yo Momma Ok so I was exaggerating quite a bit by saying it's full of them and that they're just as thin, really there's only 1 that's just as thin, and that's the last one on in the inside where the man serpent is shooting lightning at you and there's 4 axes at the end, you can go look at a speedrun to compare it to the beams, it's just as thin. But I really don't think that the extra thickness of the other pathways, that again, have moving axe heads, would make things so much easier for someone like Tarkus to get through, and honestly I just doubt the painting guardians would give him any trouble. There's a video you should check out called "The Tarkus Game" by Bonfire VN, at the end of the video he puts Tarkus' AI on the beams, and he makes it almost through with ease, but then stupidly walks off XD
The lore makes these games so much more interesting. They are already masterpieces but when you start to learn the context and backstory it just enriches the game and makes it so much more impactful.
I'm not terribly familiar with dark souls' story but I do find it fascinating and I think I'll understand it alot better after watching you play through them
These videos are a god send too, I've watched some of them before, but its good to refresh after just finishing the game. I like that they are short and to the point, where I feel like other youtubers would probably draw the topics out to 10 plus minutes even if its uneccesary
I think my favorite stories he went over here was solaire ( he's obviously iconic and tragic) because i didn't know he was possibly gwyns son.
I also really liked the story of the sisters of chaos and all that, super grotesque
Enjoy your next playthrough map! Keep us updated on anything interesting you find or new thoughts you develop from playing again. Always appreciate how in depth you go into everything!
Reading the other comments I guess I shouldn't put too much stock into these videos accuracy, they were fun regardless and interesting, but if half of this lore is going to be proven false then why ask you to react to them lol
@@michaelelmes2135 exactly there is no point until after ds3 then there are real lore videos with tons of reaserch.
You were probably already told this, but... Vaati got the info from combination of multiple playthroughs of various people (as well as his own, I believe), AND from datamining in the game's files, AND from... I'm not sure, but either a native japanese speaking translator of the game's texts, or a native japanese person reading the original japanese texts (item descriptions and dialogues) in the game. In some videos he mentions the original japanese texts, and hints at how surprisingly much got lost in translation, sometimes by the translators just omitting whole sentences from the item descriptions, sometimes just by the virtue of some of the words' double meanings being untranslatable into english.
There's also a good bit of pure speculation on Vaati's part, just as Myazaki intended.
I don't know if you would be able to put your reaction on RUclips because it is a music video, but you should totally watch the video "We Are The Souls" by The Pruld. It is very beautifully done, really! It will give you them chills!
Agreed! There's a old and new version btw.
"We spared Logan from death."
Uh, ok? That is one way of putting it I guess...
For DS1 lore I suggest Hawkshaw's channel, it goes much beyond simple explanations and actually touches on some obscure stuff
Based as hell! I saw wish that he reacted to Hawkshaw's video on the Undead Curse. He'll realize that Gwyn long ascended oblivion and decided to go through Skyrim when Lloyd started creating the Undead Curse.
Yeah, There are some really lore revelations there that I think nobody touched yet, also some of the old theories from other channels were destroyed with dark souls 3.
I take his videos more as really good fanfiction
Not finishing the game is the worst failstate, that's basically your character going hollow. His humanity (you, the player) leaving it for good, and only a hollowed husk (the character itself, mindless, only controlled by the AI) remaining wherever you left him when you quit for good.
Epic Name Bro > Vaati
Speedrunners lv1(10) chosen ones be like:
I DEFEATED GWYN NOW TAKE MY BODY AND BUUURN
(kindles for a second and dies both the chosen one and the fire)
What's interesting to me is that the only flame that can split without growing weaker, and which can grow stronger with time, is the black flame - humanity.
The First Flame, the bright one, which is the flame of the gods, only grows weaker by splitting/multiplying, and also grows weaker with time.
Also, humanity "feeds itself" by multiplying and growing stronger in time. But the divinity (first flame) can only be fed and maintained by continuously sacrificing humanity to it...
If I recall there are more then 2 endings for siegmeyer, the best possible ending is where you save him from dying, but he gets at least a single kill against those monsters.
I think Snuggly may not offer to trade until revisit because on NG you have nothing to trade.
The only problem I have with Prepare to Cry videos is that he doesn't make it clear what is canon and what is speculation, and that causes some problems. Many people watch the videos and don't realize part of it is theorized, they just take it as facts, and that causes misinformation.
Other than that though, the Prepare to Cry series is amazing.
Right back at the beginning of the game, hey! Revisiting the asylum and killing the boss almost instantly, good shit ahah. And yeah, everyone and everything gets stronger with each new game cycle. Also get more souls from em!
Dual wielding pyromancy, lmao. I love that options like that are possible. It was fun watching you run around and just wreck things (and almost get wrecked by skeletons P: ). Hope you enjoy the rest of the game on your own time!!
The prepare to cry videos... ahh, can't wait to have my heart ripped to shreds again. I forgot how bloody good that intro was. "What the hell" does sum it up pretty well hahah, it's such a shock to experience for the first time. So neat to see your reactions as all the pieces fall into place. And out of all the content that they cut from the game, Oscar's story would've been incredibly interesting. Really wish they would do a true remake of the game...
Very much looking forward to dark souls 2! It really has a TON to offer - you won't regret it. Although it's rather different and more of a challenge, it's enjoyable in its own way. Way more bosses, locations, weapon variety, rings, everything.
I know I'll enjoy any type of content you create tho :D
I would have suggested to do the remastered versions, but I cannot remember if they were out yet.
The undead are literally fuel for the bonfire’s.
The abyss and the flame of chaos story lines are amazing. By the time DS3 rolls around, you really come to appreciate the demons and their relic nature.
"if you fall down 7 times, stand up 8". How the heck is that gonna work? :D
That statement assumes the initial resting position is standing. So: stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, fall, stand, fall, stand. It's just a phrase for perseverence.
I've seen it so many times over the years, but I still get fucked up watching the episode about Artorias and Sif.
One thing to keep in mind is that Vaati was literally making most of this stuff up off the top of his head, and a lot of it is retconned in future games, so don't take it too seriously. A lot of early Souls lore is just speculation and fantasy.
The lore alone makes these games worth playing, re-playing and then re-playing 30 more times. I'm so glad I actually got into the series when I did - anyone who plays and actually sticks to them long enough to actually "git gud" will be forever changed by the experience. I don't know of any other game/series with that effect and I'm a HUGE Elder Scrolls fan. TES has awesome lore, but the depth and darkness of Dark Souls transcends anything pretty much any other game has ever done.
Reddit, he "gets" his info from Reddit.
Just be sure to play DS2 Scholars of the First Sin, that one is the definite version of DS2.
As you pointed out, a thing to remember about any and all lore videos for Dark Souls, is that some of it is pure speculation, sometimes with little-to-no evidence to support it at all, simply because people chose to believe that all characters had to be important in some way and everything had to have a deeper meaning. The whole "Manus is the Furtive Pygmy" is a good example of this; absolutely no evidence to support or even hint at it, yet some popular lore video creators chose to include it anyway, without citing their own arses as the only source.
Also, since cut content is, well cut, it's not official. It was at some point meant to be, but for whatever reason it was decided not to include it, meaning none of it can be considered canon anymore, unless otherwise proven. Yet another thing the lore videos so happily disregard, in their search for any and all information.
I have nothing against lore speculation, btw. I just have something against people presenting their speculation as fact, by not clearly marking it as nonfactual.
Don't let anyone tell you to skip Dark Souls 2.
I played and completed the souls series for the first time a few months ago and I thought DS2 was just as good as the first.
nope the forgotten son is not solaire, but you will find out soon....
Nameless king: am i joke to you?
This makes me cry
I would say Solaire gets a happy ending if you save him! I mean maybe his sacrifice doesn't mean what he thinks it means, but he does become the sun, quite literally, and he thinks thats worth fighting for.
I hope u do this for DS2 aswell later :D Love that you do this kind of stuff bro
You are making a souls fan extremely happy, incredible series man and this was the perfect ending, im glad you got to experience dark souls and its lore like us, so many playthroughs just go through paying no attention to lore but it makes the experience so much better. Alot of this lore is correct but some of it will be debunked if you play 2 amd 3. Looking forward to all the other soulsborne games.
Will you do an SL1 Melee only run? :D
I still think it's a mistranslation that Gwyn's son "lost the annals of history". How do you "lose history"? It doesn't make any sense. It makes far more sense to say he was "lost to the annals of history" because of his betrayal.
Annals are historical records. You can lose records. Also it'd make even more sense for him to be "lost FROM the annals of history" since he was wiped from the records.
@@Kai-fb1ol Annal is a single recorded year. Annals is a collection of years. The "of history" part implies multiple collections, probably in multiple sources. How do you lose collective knowledge? It's never mentioned anywhere else that the son of Gwyn was even in charge of collective knowledge, all that's confirmed about him is he was a warrior and allied with the dragons.
"Lost to" is a phrase commonly used. If someone is "lost to you" that means you don't have them anymore. If a meaning is "lost to you" then it means you don't know the meaning. If someone is "lost to history" it means the history doesn't have them, they're not part of it.
@@Ultimaniacx4 Eh, you might be right. I agree that "lost to history" means what you say, but to me "lost to the annals of history" means the thing itself is lost, but it remains as a historical record. Kind of like the same meaning as "relegated/consigned to history".
Either way, I agree that the idea that Gwyn's son "lost the annals of history" does seem clunky and smacks of mistranslation. I was just pointing out that it is technically possible to lose historical annals.
yeah the series is full of mistraslations that makes things even more confusing
just noticed the new profile picture and banner, looks cool
I've been going back to check your previous videos and was delighted to see you played Dark Souls as well. Although I must say, Vaati- while having some great videos- is an incredibly biased person. That Mass Effect roast of his is one of the biggest tells for it. Mass Effect has just as deep of a lore as Dark Souls, if not deeper. And it's incredibly hypocritical of Vaati to discard Mass Effect for its choices not mattering, when they do, probably more so than in any other game, while Dark Souls choices- what few there are- don't matter at all beyond ones own imagination. What's even funnier, is that the Mass Effect 3 endings, which I'm 100% sure Vaati is referring to as the thing that makes all previous choices moot, is _exactly_ like the Dark Souls ending- ambiguous as hell, and could be debated endlessly.
Both the Mass Effect and Dark Souls trilogies are incredible works of art, and it saddens me to no end how a hugely influential youtuber just backstabs Mass Effect to make Dark Souls look better, and potentially drives people away from Mass Effect.
But, I'm glad you gave Mass Effect a go, and even happier that you really enjoyed it, and didn't let Vaati discourage you :)
You are making it sound like Vaaty has a propaganda campaign to hate and ban Mass Effect from everyone's pc.
@@chumi269 Maybe. I've known several people (even one close friend) who unfortunately simply would not give Mass Effect a go, no matter how many good things I say about it. They love Dark Souls, and have watched Vaati at one point or another.
I'm not saying Vaati is the reason they wouldn't give it a go, but it feels like From Software fans in general are rather boneheaded when it comes to trying out new or different types of games.
mass effects codex is like a fucking brick, i dont know how he can say background lore is good in DS but bad in ME
Where does he get this information? I ask myself the same question, most of what I found is considered canon "as is" with no references to item description or anything, everyone only seems to say "trust me bro, it's canon" (not exactly talking about the prepare to cry videos)
A lot of Oscar's story is cut content
I didn't know the pygmy was a dude. I thought it was, like, a species.
Silly question but is co-op completely dead in dark souls remastered, ds2 and ds3 on the ps4? I just started ds remastered and was going to run through all 3 again. I enjoyed helping with bosses a lot. Not the PvP as much. But I didn't renew my PSN sub after i gave up CoD 6 months ago. Don't want to renew it if Co-op is completely dead.
Remaster still has co-op players but not very many, 2 is only played by hardcore PVP nerds, and 3 is very active to this day in both co-op and PVP.
Remaster and DS3 are still active. DS2 has a little bit of activity but not as much.
That mass effect roast it's just hilarious considering the comparison with dark souls, which is the epitome of meaningless choices
Hear's more Oscar dialogue
*Visible Confusion*
I won't spoil anything for future games, but I do just want to say that since this video has come out the theory that Solaire being the son of Gwyn has almost certainly been disproved.
Please react to remastered versions too now that you've played all the games
To clarify, the deal with Soleir being Gwyn's son is an old theory that got debunked by DS3.
43:28 HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
I'll parrot what some others have been saying. Keep in mind that a lot of this is speculative and not fact. Some has even been entirely debunked since the videos were made.
Yeah the solaire = gwyn's first born has always kind of been a fan-theory, but ill say nothing more about it as there is more info about it sometime else
You should play the other from software games as well. They are some of my favorite games of all time. Blood borne is also very good and mustn’t be skipped, nor ds2 or ds3 but that may seem obvious.
TARKUS TARKUS TARKUS
Do one for dark souls 3?
Timestamps would be nice
Can you do a reaction to a speedrun next?
I actually just recently posted one!
I really think it should be pronounced beh-REN-ee-kay.
What?
@@Pelagion98 Saying Berenike so that it rhymes with "bike" always felt clumsy to me. I think it works better pronouncing the final 'E' as if it had a Greek origin. And if you pronounce the final 'E' then it flows better with the accent on the second syllable.
Frankly there are far better sources for lore than Vaati
Hawkshaw guys needs more love and attention too.
Sure... Eingy... "accidentally" killed. 😉🤐
My favorite lore channel is Hawkshaw. I prefer it to Vaati. Not that Vaati is any less masterful. I just really enjoy his work.
Yeah Oscar's cut content would've been amazing, and would've put his inclusion as the cover-art of the game more important!
By the way what are your pc specs?
As much as I cringe at the Solaire is the Firstborn theories I have to admit, these theories are way better than the additions (retcons) III introduced.
You also can't get Oscar to survive it's cut content
Edit: Sif is best doggo
Second edit: the updated remastered izalith lore is more accurate.
The Furtive Pygmy thing is not solved just by the lore given in DS 1. And Manus being the FP, while a strong theory at the time, is quite possible, but not definitive.
Kaathe is the truth.
Nope he isn't... both telling lies
@@alduinakatosh3977 Yep both are liars, at least after read all the items from Ringed City.
solaire isnt the firstborn god damnit XD
and the story of oscar is cut content meaning is it was planned but never used

Sif 😭
Ok I want make this clear, because apparently people still don't seem to get it. The intention of Miyazaki and his team was to tell a story as vague and incomplete as possible so YOU can fill in the blanks, they wanted the players to come up with their own stories. Therefore "Vaati" is just making all this shit up, but people seem to think that he is telling the true hidden story, perfectly researched, based on exclusive and inside knowledge of the dark souls lore, NO!, it is all made up, it's his version of the story. If you have your own version of what happened to Seath the Scaleless and like your better?, that's perfect, that the real story, everyone's version is the correct one. The only person in this world who knows the real story is Miyazaki and his team and they will never reveal it, because that's not the idea.
There's no hidden story to uncover in Dark Souls, there's nothing there, just bits and pieces that you put together and came up with you own version of what happened to those characters. So please stop seeing Vaati as some kind of authority or the guy who discovered everything. People are just lazy so they want other to do the job for them.
it's pretty close to what miyazaki meant, he uses hidden game files for extra info on cut content, aka their intentions.
Yeah, unfortunately people took some theories as the only truth for long time and start to miss points that you can connect only by reading the items, visitng the zones and checking the cinematics. And it gets worse when people just don't remember some item descriptions and start to fill the blanks with other information.
Most of this lore you can ignore until after you play ds3
It always annoyed me that vaatividya used a female character to cosplay male NPCs. My brain knows the truth and won't let me get invested.
Keep in mind that the lore of Dark Souls is deliberately very open-ended and Vaati's videos are mainly based on theory and interpretation. For instance, the speculation that Solaire is Gwyn's mystery first-born became very wide-spread, but was debunked in later games XD
Please don't spoil. Just edit out the last part of the comment and leave it at "debunked".
👍
Sekiro was really hard, and Nioh had veery hard bosses. Dark souls is easy game compared to those two, IMO.
Dark Souls 2 first. Havent played Demon Souls myself, and i dont want to be spoiled .
Anything for you of course, nevermind that he already said he's playing them in order
Jesus Christ, could you be ANY bloody louder???
Solare being the son of qwin is disproven in DS3. You will find out if you play DS2 and DS3 on your channel!
yeah.... this is spoiler
@@adriane.1317 I didn't say how you find out, leaving him to belive a lie for 2 years because of an old theory where no facts existed is not a good thing. He already thinks You can save the night who releases you from the cell because of these videos and that is also false.
bro... you just literally spoil him that this theory is a fake cause of DS3. Its clearly a spoiler
@@adriane.1317 Love that your ok with Lying. And letting people belive lies. If you want to think telling someone that Solair is not the son due to info in a future game is a spoiler due to a lie that should never have existed in the first place that's on you. Keep lying to people then.
@@robertwallen1582 Dude its a theory for him at this point, just let him be, he will eventually see the lore videos for DS3. OMG I swear.......
Loved this series man, I just wish I'd played any of the other games you've played on your channel so that I could enjoy those series like this one 😅 If you've not played them already i'd love to see you do a blind playthrough of dishonored 1 and 2, obviously they're not as deep as soulsborne but they're really great underrated stealth fantasy imo
Dishonored underrated?
