Simply astounding soundscapes, this is the soundtrack to this season of my life. Thank you! ❤ Also, will this particular composition available on Spotify?
This juxtaposition is nuts. I never would've thought of space and banjos. It makes sense from an American perspective. It's the final frontier after all.
Somewhere in the multiverse, this echoes down the corridors of the Serenity. Wash is at the helm, Preacher's learned to play the banjo. River dances to the rhythm, Simon's had time to find a love of music and computers and mixes the two while Inara plays the dulcimer. Captain and Zoe watch on, smiling over cups of coffee. Kaylee curses and replaces yet another part while Jayne sleeps in a hammock in the cargo bay. Wheel keeps on turnin...
Well looks like it time to don my brown coat and binge watch firefly and finish with Serenity again. not looking forward to the empty feeling afterwards, wishing it could have run its full story properly
I am thoroughly convinced that the organ and the banjo are the instruments of the stars-the organ to capture the majesty of space and the banjo to accompany the vagabond that wonders it
Oh, to wake up under the stars, near a campfire with marshmallows and a friend to talk with only to discover you basically have 22 minutes to save (litterally) everything you know. Such a wonderful feeling!
You know you can make it up the hill. You know that both the laser grid and the pressure mines you have seen before. Your leg pneumatics are good. Your sealant is good. You have a decoder for the system infantry defense. You'd rather live, but are prepared to die( death is serene, but getting there bites azz). Your banjo is tuned, your needler is ready, and the people you love, know it. Let's do this thing, beloved.
...God, the more I listen, the more I feel like this is /home/. I miss my great-uncle and grandpa playing banjo by the firepit on a chilly autumn night, with the whole swathe of the Milky Way overhead for us all to see, since we were deep enough in the valleys to be in a dark zone. Out in the deep, deep countryside, down the old roads leading to the old farm...with the stars flying high, high above, and the memories soft in the darkness. Two old pilots remembering the skies out on the old airstrip... Thank you
I never thought a Banjo and Deep Space ambience would EVER mix but they mix surprisingly well and I love it. Super relaxing and wild sounding, makes me want to go exploring.
@@jromero9795 I'll make sure of it if we start colonizing the solar system in my lifetime. That frontier spirit will live on into eternity my brother, sure as the sun rises.
Same here. Your comment says what I am feeling. So far I have found comments discussing: -Firefly -The Outer Wilds -(And one each for) •Hardspace Shipbreakers (and) •Treasure Planet
Somewhere out there, the leylines are strummed like strings. The ethereal reverberations echoing through the darkest depths where space is so deep, it's no longer blackness, but rather pinks, blues and greens.
I want to have a mind that works like your visual cortex. May the smoke of nebulae coordinate above your loved ones hearts ,may your artists pen infer and confer their harmonic light. And may a stranger's blessing ride with you, and yours.😊
"FILK" music is a whole genre of space-folk that's been slept on for too long! Look it up and you'll find a lot of music like this with and without vocals ✨
Sometimes I get a little wigged out by how spot-on my algorithm is, and how personal my digital footprint has become. This time though, I'm so happy it knew I needed space banjo before I knew.
There is a book for a role playing game that helps you write the story as you go by posing questions to you or giving prompts for ideas I play the fantasy version the space would be perfect for playing/writing a space western story to make it more entertaining Edit realize I didn't list the book it's called ironsworn starforged
You know that few seconds on Pirates of the Caribbean where you're floating by that shack before descending down the first waterfall, and there's that relaxing banjo playing and all seems right in the world? That's what this sounds like, but stretched out 45 minutes.
To anyone watching this video, I pray that those who are hurting will soon be healed, and will have the worries and stress in their heads removed. May dark thoughts, overthinking and doubts escape your mind, clarity will replace confusion. May peace and tranquility permeate your life.
I saw this thumbnail and immediately thought of this one location in the third book of the Hyperion Cantos, Endymion, that was this massive techno-organic Dyson Sphere. it was a beautiful location for sure, an impossibly vast Tree that surrounded a star, the inhabitants watering it with comets.
If we're talking Hyperion Cantos I'd associate this more with the pilgrim's initial trek to the Shrike, laughing all the way; or some of the Ousters, building a thriving civilization of exiles among the stars. That treeworld always felt more like epic druid music to me, or just triumphant music in general. Thanks for bringing that series up by the way, haven't thought about it in ages.
The comments seem to sum it up nicely, but I have to leave a comment as well to express my appreciation. This is so unexpectedly beautiful, and I can't help but get reminded of my time playing The Outer Wilds. Thank you for this.
For all the people enjoy this music and vibe, I HIGHLY recommend the game Outer Wilds (not The Outer Worlds). The music scratches much the same itch and it complements the story incredibly well. The only thing I'll add is that if you do go play it do so as blind as possible. Discovery is the whole point of the game, so spoilers can very quickly ruin the experience.
I've never listened to this kind of music. But it makes me think of a wide, expanse out on some planet that someone wandering space decided to settle down. It's just them. A small camp, and a fire, with them just playing to pass the time. It's really peaceful. Makes me sleepy.
This reminds me a lot of outer wilds, not because it sounds similar or shares a genre or anything like that, but because it makes me feel my emotions on a profound level [its normally very difficult for me to feel things despite wanting to] and for that im grateful. consider me subbed.
This showed up in my feed and I clicked it just to check it out…not knowing I was committing to 45 min. Very hard hit stop once you start with this track.
I would never have thought to look for this in a million years, but here I am and I love it. It's vaguely firefly esque, as some have suggested, but it scratches an itch I didn't know my brain had. Nice background noise, that's not distracting.
This is great. Its so easy to imagine a colony ship years from any safe port. Someone has pulled out a banjo because real sound you can feel is more comforting than an electronic link.
Listen… this is very much like two of my worlds colliding… my father is a bluegrass musician and banjo is his main instrument. I am a space/sci fi nerd. This isn’t traditional bluegrass banjo by any means but still, crazy to feel both loves at the same time
Banjos might actually be something space settler will use considering they can be made with metal. This and wood being hard to come by in space. Same reason why metal guitars were popular in early US.

I highly recommend the game Outer Wilds by Mobius, its whole OST is based around this style. And it's one of the best games I've ever played.
Along with Outer Wilds, Hardspace Shipbreakers has a synth/banjo mix, but it's less ... hrm. atmospheric.
You can see the space Wild West style in the Mandalorian series too
Outer Wilds & Hardspace shipbreakers as well@@benkelly7182

Met a man in college. All he brought to live in the dorm was a duffle bag, kettle, and custom steel banjo. Never met a man so musically gifted since.
what a coincidence, thats also what I brought with me when I moved to Texas for grad school (minus the kettle)

Cowboy. Bebop.
I think Twilight zone did a few episodes where the West was as lonesome, as cruel and unforgiving as a voyage into deep space.
Outer Wilds Core right here

My D&D character is a slime boi that came from space. He was raised on a farm, playing his banjo with his pa. This music fits him so well.
Outer wilds has really changed how we really think of space music doesn’t it?
It helped, but space has always felt like a new frontier to be wxplored and banjo music encapsulates that pretty well
