    So just curious, anyone else ever have experiences in Death Valley?

    • @Random_Chiroptera
      @Random_Chiroptera Год назад +11

      In my experience, it's pretty and peaceful during the day. During the night, there's some creepy goings on out there. As if finding blackened sand-glass tubes in the sand wasn't already frightening enough. There's something out there that avoids steady light sources. A flash of lightning may illuminate it, and if you're lucky, or perhaps unlucky enough to see it, you'll never forget that tall figure of solid darkness shaped like a man in a longcoat and a hat with red eyes that seem to bore into your very soul.
      I'm not sure if it's hostile. I was lucky enough to not have to find out, but when I saw it, I realized, I'd come VERY close to it without noticing it.
      I was on a road trip with my parents. We had a big van, modified with a Full Size bed in the back. I was lying in it as we left the rest stop. A huge lightning storm was coming in, and as we were pulling away I saw a pair of red glowing lights just outside the light of the street lamps. I thought there was just some machinery there. Then lightning flashed and I saw... him?
      I've found out some people call it Hatman.

      Sounds fun. It's difficult for me to get much practice with Dreamwalking in a location that lacks that quality. I have to make a big effort to attract negative presences toward me, just to get the weak ones. The small fry, all they can do is mess with my dreams and make me hear and see things that aren't there.
      Been almost 2 decades since I've experienced anything strong enough to make the injuries in my dreams physically manifest. Those are my preferred practice dummies.

    I live a short drive or long walk's distance from the Olympic National Forest, so scary woods stories are kind of unsettlingly relatable.
    We had our own version of #3 around here back in the '90s, but they didn't kill the animals. Just took patches off them and released them to suffer. My aunt and uncle were first responders at the time, and there was considerable fear that they'd make the move to humans.

    Not so much a story but I learned something slightly creepy about a type of tree I recently planted. It is tradition to tie a dead animal to the branches of a pawpaw tree while it is in bloom. Pawpaw is a native plant to the eastern half of the continental US. It looks tropical but can grow as far north as southern Canada. It bears the largest edible fruit native to north America that is described as tasting like a combination of peach, banana, mango and/or pineapple.
    The dead animals are useful because it isn't pollinated by bees or butterflies. It is pollinated by flies and carrion beetles that are attracted to rotting meat and the stinky, reddish flowers of the pawpaw.

    First story is clearly not written by someone English. First of all, they mention calling their mother "ma'am". We don't call out parents sir or ma'am as that's weird.
    Secondly, no one, and I mean no one, goes on holiday to Aberdeen.
    Thirdly and finally, we don't "take out the trash". We call it rubbish, and we would say "take out the bin."
    I know these aren't supposed to be real, but come on people. Either write what you know, which in this case would clearly be some American small town, southern state life. Or if not, do your research.

    Wow, just a year later here in Loveland, CO, oh how things have changed. Last year many of the homeless here were nice and Nature loving people, now many of them trash every place they go, literally smoke m*** in front of the POST OFFICE downtown, and have helped in bringing our town to #1 for crime in Northern CO, we are not by any means large enough to warrant this title... The nature lovers have begun to head outside of town for their own safety as several of them have had their belongings stolen by other homeless people. We have a lot of homeless vets that have stopped walking downtown and instead stay on the outskirts when they don't need resources that day. I'd much rather see the creature the person saw than someone on m*** approaching me outside of my car to ask for a ride to the bar while I am trying to deliver food, which has happened 3 times in the last year here. No one who doesn't carry some form of protection wants to go outside after dark, in ANY part of town anymore, and most parents won't allow their children to go around town by themselves due to the safety issues. Aside from all of that our police department has had over 5 lawsuits for intentionally harming disabled, underage, and elderly people over the last few years alone, and is now hesitant to arrest people committing crimes. If you have a vehicle stolen or house/business broken into, the police blatantly tell you it's likely the abundant local cartel activity and they have no hopes of finding the people, they also can't engage a vehicle caught on camera committing a robbery unless the criminals are violent toward them, as they explained to a family friend who had $30,000 of product stolen from their store on camera and the police were there watching the truck drive away that drove up to the business and broke in... Yeah our local skinwalkers, banshee like creature, bigfoot, spirits, aliens and other creatures are much less terrifying to me at this point than the people who have destroyed our town. Thankfully the entities have begun to appear more as the city develops nearly every piece of vacant land and renovated the historic areas, now everyday conversation often includes people discussing weird encounters with excitement and intrigue 😅

    An animal skinner is the same as a skinwalker. True or false?

    Samson was a real horse. Just the world record holder for largest horse ever. Not sure if that record still holds true.
