You are a serious kiln loader/ glazer...a well packed kiln is essential for a good firing...plus kilns are expensive to run... For a cone 6 electric firing you have excell in the razalldazel effects....beautiful generous mugs with nice handles...you also manage to make glaze combination that emulate hi temp gas firings..congrats for a great kiln firing with very few seconds.. That black clay looks very promising...the black manganese specks gives..visual interest the posting is a true gem. Are your kiln shelves made of carbide?...i noticed you stack them on top of each other...some times face to face on flat edge is best...Much success, thank you for sharing...would be really great to see your" glaze test tile wall" cause you are a meticulous glazer!!😌
@@karmenzoriano6864 thank you for reminding on the proper way of stacking those shelves but the last time we stacked them on the flat edge, one slipped and broke...lol
Thank you for your video. Its always an inspiration watching them. Could you tell me, with the iron luster and oatmeal combination, do they run very much? Hope this makes sense.
they do run, glazing them with the black underglaze on the bottom half, I will always end up with a lot of drips on the shelf as you can see at the last part of the video where I had shown the bottom shelf. If I am doing just the iron lustre and not the underglaze, I put 3 thin coats of oatmeal on the upper half of the mug so it will not run that much
Gorgeous unload as always! Yr glaze application is exceptional! The iron lustre oatmeal drips omgggg yum! Do the drips run when u do the application or does it happen in the kiln? Thankyou Nat xx
hello! I love your work. wondering how you got the Winter Wood glaze to not drip? I love this speckled effect but understand the specks often/are meant to drip and blur!
I don't think I ever had a winterwood dripped even with the light flux I put on the upper part of the mug. There are some though that it gets too close to the bottom if I put too much flux.
Thank you for all the videos/glaze combinations, impressive work. Happy I found your channel. With the silicon carbide shelves is it hard to clean off the glaze drips? Been thinking about purchasing them, but not sure if they are worth the cost.
The glaze drips are so easy to come off the shelves using the glaze eraser hand tool that we bought with the shelves. They are worth the cost for somebody like me that loves experimenting with drippy glaze combos😃. Good luck on your glazing and thanks for watching.
Thank you for the quick reply, much appreciated. Didn’t know there was a glaze eraser. I like overlaying drippy combinations also and enjoy your channel.
I believe it is being reformulated due to materials issues but I haven't been gone to our local pottery stores and see if they are no longer on the shelves.
Great kiln unloading. Beautiful glaze combinations ❤

Nice!
Beautiful work. How many pounds of clay for the large mugs? Also did you dip or brush?
I usually do 1.4 but got some requests to do some 25+ oz mugs which I use 1 and a half pound of clay
