Narducy has had a pretty incredible, under the radar career. He’s played with 3 of my all time favorite singer-songwriters in Robert Pollard, Bob Mould and Liz Phair. And his album “Chronicles” with the band Verbow is amazing.
Actually, no. Metro Detroit. In the 90’s, I was a huge Bob Mould fan. Still am. Found out Bob produced Verbow’s “Chronicles” and loved it the first time I heard it. The first 8 tracks or so on there are perfect. One of the best albums of the 90’s.
Objectively, he had a better voice than Stipe, but wasn't as good a frontman. In the first 3rd of their career (albums up to Out of Time), Mills was the magic that tied them together and really helped grow them a following. I'm glad to see the music coming back for a new generation to enjoy! :)
I discovered Jason Narducy when he toured as a bassist for SuperChunk, and began following him on social media. I now know him as a creative and amazing artist. Looking forward to the tour.
Jason Narducy’s Split Single band is one of my absolute favorite bands on the planet, and he’s the reason I discovered Superchunk & Bob Mould’s many projects. 🙏
Wow, you discovered Jason first, then Bob Mould? I'm glad that he is reaching new fans independently. One of the benefits of being a big Bob Mould fan for over 30 years is first hearing of him before Verbow when he opened for Mould in 1997.
Michael Shannon is a good fella. He’s been doing a show here in Brooklyn in my neighborhood, and I see him smoking and hanging out during rehearsals, performances, and he just seems like a totally cool, down to earth dude. Superb actor. Looking forward to hearing him sing. This is an artist.
I ran into Jason Narducy at a bar in St. Paul, before a Bob Mould show, and I thought it was really cool that it was him, we were the only two in the bar, but I didn't say anything. How weird would it be to ask a stranger, "Hey, are you Jason Narducy" and the stranger replies, "Who?"
Here is the only live version of Mike and The Jehovah's Suspects. We also did a thrash version of "Gimme 3 Steps", "Good times, Bad Times" (with the least Zeppelin verse phrasing by Mike), and an unnamed jam tune with Mike on drums and me on lead vocals (no idea what I sang): ruclips.net/video/hOFvEfqFb54/видео.html
Radio free europe ain't right he enunciantes the words. you can understand the lyrics. Michael Stipe - was much more muttered/slurred whatever the lyrics were more like sounds

Michael Shannon has an enormous head. LOOK AT THE GREAT BIG GOB ON THAT GUY. But his voice really does lend itself to covering Michael Stipe. Hey, they're both Michaels! Coincidence???!!!?!?!
I hate when people comment on other peoples looks. He is one of the most extraordinary and giving talents our generation. He is a lovely man, a treasure.

Jason started as a teenager and young at that. Pre-teen I mean

I assume we’re all from Chicago and/or Evanston.
Such a nice guy, to boot. I love seeing this.

I recognize Liz Phair
It's remarkable how many of my favorite 80s REM songs are Mike Mills heavy. I can't wait to see the show!

@@vailpcs4040 I was. VeERY surprised Jason didn’t sing Mills’ part. It’s the magic of this song - and his voice is great.
Any time Naked Raygun gets mentioned on network television, the Rock Gods smile wryly.

You guys simply have the best most interesting guests come on the show - Rachel Blum & these two - loved both conversations. ☺️❤️👍
Saw the show at Metro and loved it! Amazing band
Michael Shannon has an impeccable taste in music, first The Smiths, now REM... I'd love to watch one of those shows.
He’s even mentioned loving the Jesus Lizard a couple times before! such great taste
Damn I love the early REM stuff, this sounds like a great show to see, hope they tour it internationally, Rj in Oz

I hate him smoking! He is fraying
@@katieking7671 Is this Katie Pesky on Twitter?
He smokes? Didn’t figure him a smoker. I also met him last year at the gym in Brooklyn. I got totally starstruck hahahah
We love michael Shannon and Jason narducy
Naked Raygun. Damn. Now that's a band I'd never expect to be mentioned on a mainstream late night talk show.
We had Old Skull from Madison. They were a pre teen punk band in the 80’s. They were on MTV back then.
Jason is a great dude.
MIke Mills walks in their green room right before they go on, haha! No pressure!
Love Narducys work with Bob Mould

Missed opportunity! I've spoken with him multiple times and he has always been very personable.
oh, I would have loved to hear the performance.
Naked Raygun! Hell yeah
REM you either love em or hate em. That’s what I remember 🤣
Robbie Fulks! Dang he is great.
The first Split Single album has Last Goodbye (not Jeff Buckley’s) is my favorite.
The Jason & Alison years were cool.
Oh its THAT tracy! Dave never said she opened up for naked raygun wow

OT but someone please do a series or a movie where Bill Hader and Michael Shannon play brothers.
Precipice of Christmas is the name of my FEAR xmas carol tribute band!
Michael Shannon could almost say he was going through a mid-teen crisis when he wrote his song.
No applause for Robbie Fulks, Mike Mills or Naked Raygun? For shame, studio audience!
Kick fucking ass, Jason!!!

I recognize you, Jason.
I hope Seth's show doesn't do what the tonight show has done - block their youtube channel content outside of the US.

@@robertcatuara5118 It's annoying firing up the VPN just for one of the many subscriptions I've got.

Michael Shannon looks like a homeless David Letterman.
lol, I kept seeing Bill Hader.
Jehovah's Suspects .... Incredible band name
When are we casting Michael Shannon as George Harrison
Can see that. Similar looks.... great actor.

That's your take on all of this?

Can we take a few years off of actors with bands? Please?

I hate myers just watched for these 2
OOF i can't handle my boy Mikey Shanners lookin so old
He’s thinning and old ugh STOP smoking MIKE
what’s wrong with Shannon - is he sick or on drugs?
He’s in a play and the look is for a part if you had watched the entire video.
He’s supposed to look somewhat haggard for the play he is in.
This comments section sure isn’t giving Waiting For the End of the Interview. Guess Beckseth isn’t everyone’s cup of tea 🙃
Broadway is terrible for you
Lol
They completely didn't want to be interviewed and it was obviously awkward and not entertaining.
I disagree- Shannon was very talkative and engaged.
