Gods I love these references from the TohoVerse being brought back by Monsterverse. And to be honest, I was ignorant back then as a Kid on who's the original Godzilla since 1998 Godzilla was the very first Godzilla Film I'd seen when I was five years old because I was born in 1997 so I'll be a toddler when that movie came out and watching The Godzilla animated series version of the 1998 version on TV was fun however when the time pass on as I began searching more about Godzilla that's when I came face to face with the true king of the monster when I was a teenager and now I realize how TriStar portrait Godzilla very wrongly sure the creator of it did just fine to come out with the plot but how the script goes on makes completely nonsense and turning Godzilla into a Giant mutated tuna eating inguana is very wrong. And it doesn't even breath atomic breath until the series came in.
And seeing Kong redo the 1962 Kong feeding Godzilla a tree is freaking hilarious Only this time Kong 2021 uses the handle of his axe. 😁

With Kong yeah he was probably toying with him til Kong pissed him off and he decided to death roll him like an alligator or rip him limb from limb.

The Monsterverse did some brilliant upgrades to their personalities... like Ghidorah's three heads all had distinct persona's, and the far right one (if facing Ghidorah) wasn't the brightest of the three. On the commentary, it is even said that head may even have wanted to be friends with humans if not for his "brothers". You see those mannerisms play out with the middle head being the leader, the left head (again if facing ghidorah) being the "wild" one and the right one being the "slow" one.
