It is nearly out of this world, what Bach is demanding the bassoon to play. At least in this speed. Some years ago I did a performance at nearly the same speed and really had pitty with the poor bassoon player, she had to be so focused and at top of her technique to manage this part. Marvellous.

Didn't realise just how crazy it is, thought it was just doubling the continuo, which is hard enough.
Appreciate this cantata all the more now.
