This is one of my girlfriend and i's song. We made a pact that if we were still together, we would buy ceremonial daggers, whenever we were old and tired and ready. Hunger and thirst have reached a peak. Your vision goes first. Dark spot overtake the blue sky. Then feeling leaves your fingertips, hands, arms, until you don’t feel quite obligated to take in air anymore. The rustling of a thousand beings that will outlive you roars. You feel content, knowing the world goes on. And there, with the smell of dirt and sunlight in your nose- you sink back into the earth with two voices as old as the mountains beginning to beacon you back to where your soul began. And you follow them.

It can vary quite a bit depending on what I'm going for, but generally I start with a low pass filter + a little bit of reverb in audacity, and I basically mess with it until I have it at the level I want. Sometimes I boost the bass as well if I want a really strong "other room" effect. Then I add background noise and sometimes add a low pass to that too! I also have some (my cathedral edits, mainly) where I do a high pass filter instead.
Since there's so much that goes into it and I've had a few people ask before, I'm actually thinking about making a video tutorial of sorts one of these days, if enough people are interested! I think it'd be easier to go into detail of all the options you have in audacity to edit music that way.
