Sometimes I still get scared of my dad Sometimes I can still feel the stinging from when he hit me, sometimes I still have dreams about packing my bags and rushing to the car with my mom and siblings, only for him to follow us into town like we used to But I'm glad it's mostly over He still gets angry easily, and it brings all the memories back I've been doing good trying to hang out like a normal family, but I don't think I could ever see him as a real dad to me I just wish my mom would talk to me more too
Same here just with my mom, she used to hit me before she went to therapy and has really made a difference. But I'm so fucked in the head that when she even slightly raises her voice at me I get scared and I start to cry and shake. I love her but at the same time I hate her. She will come towards me when she is angry and I start to back off and my first thought is always to protect my head and stomach. I really just needed a place to vent since I'm not in therapy yet. I kinda understand what you mean. Everytime my parents fight my mum says the same thing for the same reason. I've been told (and most of the time yelled) by multiple family members including my mum that I'm the reason they fight and if they break up it'll all be my fault and "do you really wanna be the reason your family is ruined" (also I'm sorry I'm not good at explaining things and I'm not trying to invalidate what your saying)

I was drinking some hot cocoa and my dad was really drunk and was asleep on the floor and my step mom slapped his face to wake him up and tell him to do the dishes while I'm already crying and I ran to my room and listened to this on repeat all night crying under my bed with the door locked shut all after my real mom... passed on 3 months ago.... 🙏 bless you for this playlist

It’s funny how my parents only married to eachother because my mom is pregnant before marriage ( it’s me btw) and my dad only agree to the marriage because he thinks that I’m a male but I’m a female. does anyone else have this fear of your parents getting a divorce? i know it wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would feel like it for me. it would be like choosing between them but i love them both so much. they just fight about such dumb things and i really hope they're still happy. they've been fighting so much the last few years and my mom always talks about how she sometimes wants to leave everything behind and go to italy, and i'm happy that she has dreams like that, but it also makes me feel shitty? like she would leave all of us here just to go live in italy? i already feel like she isn't happy but that makes me feel even worse. my dad is trying his best and i can see that, he's just a very different person than my mom. i actually have a fear of them divorcing. My parents aren't fighting they used to and because of that it gave me trauma and it's almost the 4th of July so people are setting off fire works near me and it's causing me to have flash backs and I can't stop shaking, rocking back and forth, and covering my ears so thank you I'm listening to these with headphones and it kinda blocks out the noise and is helping me calm down ❤

It’s the first time I’ve ever heard my parents fight. It ended with my mum running out of the room and my dad calling her a 5 year old. It’s been like 30 minutes and I’m still trying to process what just happened. I’m just crying and praying that they still love each other.

They have these sporadic fights all the time. I've only ever heard them say it directly to me once, at different times, but both said they'd leave. They'd leave me in this house amd run for the horizon if they could. My mom said she was tired of coming home to an ungrateful family, tired of working herself thin. I think my dad just regrets having a family, because that tied him down.
Mom's bipolar, she's gone manic again. We recently learned some big news that's a dream come true for me, but it's a complicated situation for my mom to process. She's behaving like a child having a tantrum, but she's almost 60. She's had mental issues my whole life, and I understand why she is the way she is. I empathize with her and all the pain she's been through, but she's also put me through so much pain. The trauma of this household has torn apart much of my youth. My dad is genuinely the kindest, most gentle man in the world, I'm saved by his presence in my life. I'm almost 18, I graduate highschool in a few months. I just want to leave, desperately. I cannot live here much longer. I love them both, but I can't handle this any longer. It's playlists like this that help me drown it all out when she goes Manic, or when she's drunk. This escape means a lot to me, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you

Growing up to all that has me extremely traumatized that whenever I hear people arguing or about to physically fight my body starts to shake and I start to cry. My dad lives far now and my mom and her bf were arguing and my heart started to beat so fast and hard. I started to shake. I came to calm me down and it’s so far slowly working. I found out that when I was around 2 years old, my mother threw me out of the car and told me to walk home. My oldest brother jumped out of the car and came back to me, took my onto his back and walked me back home. I never knew how abusive my mom was, until this year. I never knew what she used to do to me and my brothers, but now I know. But the worst thing is, is that I don't think it'll change the way I see her. That's what I hate. I'm afraid that I still see her as the mother she was to me for as much as I remember of her. In 2 days, we have a wedding to attend and I have no idea if we'll even go as a family. We're supposed to, but I don't know anymore.

My parents have been arguing since I was 6 but it was rare but now I’m 17 and they argue almost constantly. I now have a habit of constantly wearing headphones and blaring music loud enough that I don’t hear anything else but the music. I now get anxious when someone is upset even if I didn’t have anything to do with it. I now flinch when I hear a sudden loud noise or whenever someone suddenly yells or try’s to touch me. I am also very clingy and touch starved. So yay childhood trauma is great. Thank you for making this playlist. Now I have some good playlist to listen to.
I can tell it affected me when I literally feel so protective of my brother and younger cousins. Especially when I started crying when I got to hold my baby cousin for the very first time. I also am very clingy with my friends and act like a mother hen to anyone or anything. Thankfully I have a job now so I’m not at home constantly anymore. They are also finally getting a divorce but my brother has not found out yet and I honestly don’t want to tell him. Because I fear how he might react to finding this out.

When i was younger i used to get hit around alot, Mostly by my mom and whenever I'd talk to someone about it she'd act all innocent and lie about me behind my back, saying things i wasn't. My dad left because of all the arguments they've had and my dad hit my mother out of anger and filed a restraining order against him. My little sister comes to me saying that our mother slapped her when i move out (which is 21) im going to take them with me. They shouldn't be treated like that and should have a better childhood then i had. Same here just with my mom, she used to hit me before she went to therapy and has really made a difference. But I'm so fucked in the head that when she even slightly raises her voice at me I get scared and I start to cry and shake. I love her but at the same time I hate her. She will come towards me when she is angry and I start to back off and my first thought is always to protect my head and stomach. I really just needed a place to vent since I'm not in therapy yet. I kinda understand what you mean. Everytime my parents fight my mum says the same thing for the same reason. I've been told (and most of the time yelled) by multiple family members including my mum that I'm the reason they fight and if they break up it'll all be my fault and "do you really wanna be the reason your family is ruined" (also I'm sorry I'm not good at explaining things and I'm not trying to invalidate what your saying)

They have these sporadic fights all the time. I've only ever heard them say it directly to me once, at different times, but both said they'd leave. They'd leave me in this house amd run for the horizon if they could. My mom said she was tired of coming home to an ungrateful family, tired of working herself thin. I think my dad just regrets having a family, because that tied him down.

Mom's bipolar, she's gone manic again. We recently learned some big news that's a dream come true for me, but it's a complicated situation for my mom to process. She's behaving like a child having a tantrum, but she's almost 60. She's had mental issues my whole life, and I understand why she is the way she is. I empathize with her and all the pain she's been through, but she's also put me through so much pain. The trauma of this household has torn apart much of my youth. My dad is genuinely the kindest, most gentle man in the world, I'm saved by his presence in my life. I'm almost 18, I graduate highschool in a few months. I just want to leave, desperately. I cannot live here much longer. I love them both, but I can't handle this any longer.

My parents fought a lot ever since I was born and before I was born. Growing up to all that has me extremely traumatized that whenever I hear people arguing or about to physically fight my body starts to shake and I start to cry. My dad lives far now and my mom and her bf were arguing and my heart started to beat so fast and hard. I started to shake. I came to calm me down and it’s so far slowly working. I really need this and a warm comforting hug. I’ve been going through so much. I keep telling myself it’ll get better. I’m mentally and emotionally not okay. I hope and wish for the best to you all! I found out that when I was around 2 years old, my mother threw me out of the car and told me to walk home. My oldest brother jumped out of the car and came back to me, took my onto his back and walked me back home. I never knew how abusive my mom was, until this year. I never knew what she used to do to me and my brothers, but now I know. But the worst thing is, is that I don't think it'll change the way I see her. That's what I hate. I'm afraid that I still see her as the mother she was to me for as much as I remember of her.

i did everything I could as a 5 year old to stop them from figthing eachother infront of everyone and seeing my little sister do the same hurts so much

For me they did this ever since I was six and I’m twelve I got so used to it I just fall asleep but not today sadly
My mom and dad fight all the time, but this time they have been fighting all day, my mom said something about my dad talking to another girl and the thing is I’m not even mad if he did bc I love him too much.
I think they are gonna get divorced and the thing that sucks is that when I’m older im gonna remember this for the rest of my life.
My mom was slamming the door a million times and I heard things fall, my mom was yelling at my dad to tell my sister.
I’m scared I really am.
I just hope I don’t get into a relationship like them bc I don’t want my kids to be like me. I’m using this playlist so I don’t have to hear them-

i thought to myself "this is so cringe.. im just a weirdo" and "no one else i know would do this" but then i looked to the comments and felt a sense of warmness, my parents havent fought in a long time but did a couple of minutes ago, im 13 and being exposed to stuff like this isnt very healthy for my age, im a music type of guy it always calms me down most of the time. If your going through something say to yourself "im not alone". who ever is reading this stay well, and please, please, dont end up like me. Ill get better i promise.

My parents always fought with each other since I was 5 hearing their yelling, my mom in tears and my dad slamming the door it never end right. My mom always kick my dad out after a big fight so most of what I can recall was those moments even that event in 5 grade that traumatized me now I’m 17 and things haven’t change much it’s gotten better but sometimes when it seems things are getting better we go back to square one so having this maybe I can finally escape :)
Thank you, my mom was yelling at my sisters about how we’re lazy and we do nothing in the house, and how she has to do everything. This helped drown out the sound so I could draw. Thank you.

My parents have been arguing since I was 6 but it was rare but now I’m 17 and they argue almost constantly. I now have a habit of constantly wearing headphones and blaring music loud enough that I don’t hear anything else but the music. I now get anxious when someone is upset even if I didn’t have anything to do with it. I now flinch when I hear a sudden loud noise or whenever someone suddenly yells or try’s to touch me. I am also very clingy and touch starved.
So yay childhood trauma is great. Thank you for making this playlist. Now I have some good playlist to listen to.
I can tell it affected me when I literally feel so protective of my brother and younger cousins. Especially when I started crying when I got to hold my baby cousin for the very first time. I also am very clingy with my friends and act like a mother hen to anyone or anything.
Thankfully I have a job now so I’m not at home constantly anymore. They are also finally getting a divorce but my brother has not found out yet and I honestly don’t want to tell him. Because I fear how he might react to finding this out.
It's not really my parents, it's more like my dad and his mom, he's basically scared of his ex seeing all of the photo's he took me and my family and be really mad, I don't know why he cares about her. I'm currently crying, overthinking if he loves her more than my mom

When i was younger i used to get hit around alot, Mostly by my mom and whenever I'd talk to someone about it she'd act all innocent and lie about me behind my back, saying things i wasn't. My dad left because of all the arguments they've had and my dad hit my mother out of anger and filed a restraining order against him. My little sister comes to me saying that our mother slapped her when i move out (which is 21) im going to take them with me. They shouldn't be treated like that and should have a better childhood then i had. But meanwhile id like to thank you for making this playlist, also everyone out there i hope you stay strong and enjoy the rest of your life. Stay strong out there.
