Awesome, have a great time Pam! Also, it may be too late, but a mini portable printer could be a good idea if you need to print something in a pinch like more business cards or whatnot.
Thanks Seth! Yes I might need to invest in a portable printer… I need to update and print one of my sell sheets so now I have to find a Staples 😅 or see if gen con has a business center….
Another great video. Safe drive. Looking forward to seeing Gen Con as I've never been and may go in the future. I like to see people's perspective before I go to something this big for the first time.
Drinking game: take a drink every time I say “gen con” 😂 Also I forgot to say I am posting stories on my drive (currently in Montana) and will post during the convention as well on my Instagram if you want to follow along: instagram.com/pamwallsgamedesign
I hope you have an amazing time, and I'm gonna be running around pitching my games but I hope to run into you by happenstance, if I see you I'll try to say hello. Thanks for all your content.
Last time I went, I had zero! But since then I’ve built up my relationships with publishers and am on several email lists where publishers send out their calendar for designers to book a meeting with them, and then a new publisher reached out to me after they saw one of my tweets about going to Gen Con. So getting pitch meetings gets way easier the more you network/build ongoing relationships with publishers.
Thanks Pam! Great advice that I will be using. Doing my prototype backpack packing today. Safe travels and see you there!
Thanks Tommy! Good luck getting ready (hopefully you won’t leave everything to last minute like me 😅) and I’ll see you there!
Yay! It would be great to see you there! I hope you have a terrific time with the big launch of your game! Your message here was terrific - thanks!
Thanks so much! And yes please say hi if you see me 👋
