I discovered you a few months ago, and am seriously addicted to watching your RUclips videos.T he Distress Oxide inks are totally fascinating! I so appreciate what I have learned from you. After digital scrapbooking went out of popularity I started with card making, and these new inks are AMAZING! And so you , Jennifer McGuire!!!
Finally got around to doing this today and I must say, at first I was disappointed with the backgrounds at first. They all looked to be the same kind of 'blob' but OH MY! after the glaze, they were amazing! Can't believe one little product can make that much difference. Thank you Jennifer, you make my favourite videos on crafting!
Jennifer, I've watched you work for a few months, now. Glad you are a part of the professional crafting community. I truly believe all of us hobbyists benefit, immensely from your talent and hard work. Enjoy your modern, bright style and upbeat approach. Wishing you and yours Jesus' joy.
I was supposed to watch this video last Friday, that was my intent. Instead a Nor'easter blew in and we lost power for 50 hours. So today was my day to watch. I love the backgrounds! That micro glaze is amazing. And the cards look so great. Thanks for making enjoyable video's Jennifer.
These cards are FANTASTIC Jennifer! That swimming pool is totally awesome...and your Oxide pool water is perfect! Love that you put this video together for us and since the Micro Glaze arrived in today's mail, I'm good to go. Thanks so much for sharing those gorgeous flowers too. They're just so beautiful. I hope you're having a great week and you don't get zapped by the upcoming Nor'easter. (We're waiting for 12-18" UGH!). ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Thank you for sharing this technique. My favorite videos are about techniques. I appreciate card designs but I love ideas about how to transform paper. I think your particular strength is how clear your instructions are. You definitely have a knack for teaching. Thank you.
I love the backgrounds using the oxide distressed inks and flicking water on them. The glaze you used brings the backgrounds to a whole other dimension! Backgrounds -- but using them to cut out flowers was a great idea, too. Why should only our backgrounds be so beautiful?! I especially love your flowered card!
What would we do without you Jennifer! I really enjoyed Tim Holtz' CHA video demonstration of this technique, and now seeing you use it for card elements is so helpful. Love the pool cards 😊.
I've never been interested in the oxide inks because I'm not fond of the chalky-looking end result. However, I DO have some of the glaze...which I've never known what to do with. I LOVE how the glaze brings out the depth in the oxide. THANK YOU!
Love those backgrounds. I'm always amazed at how many ways you can use the oxide inks. I wasn't going to get them all, but every time I see how you can use them I change my mind. Thanks for sharing the cute cards and the technique.
Love this technique and that glaze is amazing. I’ve seen Kristina use it too and thought it was excellent for her envelopes. Great to see that you can stamp over it and emboss over it too. Love all your cards. Thanks for sharing.
Your cards are SOOOO beautiful and I love that I learn something new from each of your videos. You are a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate you sharing . Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for demo'ing Micro Glace! I've been curious about it for almost 2 years based on when I saw Tim use it in a video, but none of the stores (independent or big box) near me have it or had even heard about it when I inquired. With your video and followers, hopefully this will create enough demand that it will be stocked. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous video as always! Loved your striped painted background for the pool and your stamped flowers on the purple and green backgrounds. So many awesome techniques and gorgeous cards! ❤️
These have to be my favorite backgrounds that you have made to date. I love oxide inks and that pool stamp and die set is a must have. So is the unicorn. She is too stinkin cute. TFS! Have a blessed day.
Thank you Jennifer and Tim Holtz! I LOVE distress oxides and how easy they blend. After seeing this technique I'm off to buy more products so I can try it out!
Wow! Best ever tutorial on these inks. Thank you so much Jennifer. I learn so much from you. I just received my order of inks today and can't wait to play with them. Can't wait each day to see what new you post!
This is an exciting video with so much to offer! I had no idea that these inks could create those pretty backgrounds. Love all the cards but those unicorns ones area adorable! Thanks Jennifer for posting. :-)
I have the first two sets of distress oxide inks but haven't ordered the third yet. Your backgrounds are beautiful. The cards were darling and you look like you had fun making them. Loved the floral card! Thanks for sharing.
I just bought the glazed the other day because I saw Tim Holtz doing this technique but I haven't had a chance to play with.....thanks Jennifer for sharing and your cards turned out really nice.....
Wow Jennifer. What a fabulous difference the glaze makes. I NEED / WANT / MUST HAVE it plus every stamp you've used!!!! Thanks so much for keeping this poor old addicted lady poor!! LOL. Love the backgrounds you created, love the addition of the glaze and all your cards are truly beautiful. Those flowers are stunning. Am about to go to see if the oxide inks will work on glossy photo paper, as that is all I have at the moment, and perhaps it will work. So glad that this look using the glaze takes away my need to buy alcohol inks and alcohol - one tub of glaze will be much, much cheaper! As always, thanks for all the tips and the brilliant video. I'm crazy about flowers, so am going to try to make the background and my flower stamps and see how it all works out!
Thats so true i had my reservation about the glaze untill I purchased a jar. It really is great and very little spreads so far, it completely protects virtually any art besides just the oxide ink o glossy paper this isn't an ad either.
I have created a similar look using a baby wipe to remove the "haze" from the Distress Oxide Inks on glossy card stock. It's amazing how vibrant the Distress Oxide Inks become. I don't think the Glaze is completely new. I've had the MicroGlaze from Judikins for many years and I'm pretty sure Tim said it's the same product as the Ranger Distress Mirco Glaze. And yes, a little goes a long way. A good investment! Thanks for continuing to inspire us.
I will have to put micro glaze on my cards. I had used it on my oxide inks but only once and I did love the look of it. Now I can't find that one I did! Opps! Oh well I will have to make another one so I don't want to lose one again. You did an awesome backgrounds. They looked super. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.
I have to say, Thank you! I have been on the fence on weather I wanted the Distressed inks verses Distressed Oxide inks and micro glaze. I've been watching your videos and this one just pushed me in the water!! That micro glaze made the colors pop & looks so lifelike that it is amazing!! I just now have to find the $$$ for both ink sets! I've watched this video multiple times & must say you are truly knowledgeable and gifted in all types of crafts!! :) Loved the unicorn cards just so darn Cute!!
I love this technique, I was also totally inspired by this demo from Tim and had to make a video. The penny blossoms are beautiful and those unicorns are just adorable 😍
Absolutely beautiful. It is a great way to use my distressed oxide inks. Videos make it easy to replicate the types of backgrounds you created. Thank you.
Since I already own practically every ink known to humankind, I have been on the fence about the Distress Oxide inks, but videos like yours make the addition of these inks more and more tempting. NOW, in seeing this AMAZING micro glaze, I am even more intrigued! I think I may have just decided to jump over that fence. ;) BTW: I've been a fan of your videos for MANY years and I appreciate the constant inspiration your videos bring. ~BLESSINGS~
You WILL NOT be sorry when you get these inks!! They are fantastic to work with; really so easy. I just got the Micro Glaze in the mail today so will be playing with that very soon too. I also have a ton of inks, but the Oxides are definitely in my "favorites" category! Enjoy!!
Get off that fence my crafty friend! You will not regret it, I promise!!! I’ve replaced all of my Stampin Up inks with Distress inks and Distress Oxides. Best thing I ever did. I’ll never go back. It’s really enhanced my creativity.
I'm soo addicted to oxides since I know them! They are just gorgeous and FUN!!! You definitely have to try them, I would begin with 3 colors you like, but I'm ure you quickly will want more!! Enjoy!
I just love the look of the micro glaze. I just ordered some and waiting for it to come in. Im so anxious to try it.. I"m new to card making and just loving it. Thankyou for all the idea"s .
I saw a video where Tim demoed with the distress glaze which was fab but you have taken it to another level 😊 I'm just having a go with the paintbrush technique, heat gun in one hand as I type this! Xxx
OH My, I LOVE this! reminds me of the alcohol ink backgrounds you have done somewhat! I think I'll have to get this paper and the glaze, as that would be cheaper than investing in the alcohol inks...least for now that sounds better since money seems to be in short supply here to often. Don't have tons of the oxides yet, but do have enough to make it fun! Thanks for sharing this...I had seen Tim do it, but had forgotten already...and hadn't thought about it being used like this so it could take the place of the alcohol ink technique least for now since I don't have those inks.
Can’t wait to try this technique! I saw a video from Creativation where Tim did this but it was very quick - thank you for showing all the different ways to use it! Btw, would really like more info on the Claire inks! Thank you!
What a fun way to make those backgrounds:) I’m going to try it with that mermaid Stefan dies that you shared about that it be really cool with the dark blue ocean look:)
Well, I love trying new techniques too, but you're going too quickly, I cannot follow (without talking about the time it takes to get the material !) I takes me some time to master them.... more or less - LOL ! But once again, you created amazing cards ! I specially love the Unicorns cards, they are so cute. A stamps set to add to the order of that glaze product ! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
What an incredible multi-dimensional eye trick! In the colors you used, it looks like a shark or a school of brightly colored fish could swim out to you! Love this technique. 💕💙💕
I always learn something new from your videos. You are so creative and willing to take chances with your creativity. I have all of the oxide inks and now I'm going to finally use them. I'm wondering if you can use photo paper, or is the Tim Holtz paper different? I can't wait!

Truly Jennifer, no one does it better. You definitely have a gift within the crafting world. ✌️❤️

Absolutely loved this video especially the way the water for the pool came out!

The videos where you make a bunch of backgrounds and then make them into cards are my favorite. Beautiful technique! Thanks Tim and Jennifer :)
That glaze is amazing on these oxides!!! Love the result!!! Wow! I enjoy listening to you Jennifer!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for all the tips
Am so in love with the pool cards!!! Those unicorns are so cute too!!
Thank you for sharing this technique. My favorite videos are about techniques. I appreciate card designs but I love ideas about how to transform paper.
I think your particular strength is how clear your instructions are. You definitely have a knack for teaching. Thank you.
Love how you make three different cards with 3 different themes with the same technique. It shows how versatile these products can be.
Making the bg looks addicting. Love the wave bg. The pool stamp set is really cute. The flower card is classy. Very cute unicorn card.
What would we do without you Jennifer! I really enjoyed Tim Holtz' CHA video demonstration of this technique, and now seeing you use it for card elements is so helpful. Love the pool cards 😊.
I had completely forgotten the micro glaze, it makes such a difference. Love your cards. Thank you so much.
I've never been interested in the oxide inks because I'm not fond of the chalky-looking end result.
However, I DO have some of the glaze...which I've never known what to do with.
