The entire Bowser’s Castle section is basically just boss battles. Sumo Bro, then minutes later The Handoconda, two rooms later The Paper Mistake, then immediately after is the scissors!
I don’t like to call paper mistake or paper macho pokey a boss they are just a giant macho enemy’s the only attacks they have are the same attacks but gooper blooper has way more than 2 attacks

Also, why does chapter 5 have *SO MANY "SPECIAL/INSTANT" GAME OVERS!* There's the whole PMCC sequence, scissors, Shy Guys Finish Last, Dead Ends, and Shy Guys Finish Last Sudden Death Round.
What I love about the Legion of Stationary bosses is how when you beat them it really feels like you're absolutely destroying them, especially with colored pencils and stapler

I've heard that in the Japanese version, instead of being a duelist, he is "the snip snip maniac" and if thats true, I really wish they kept that, it makes so much more sense, with him murdering Junior on screen, making a monstrosity out of faces and literally having a hall full of dismembered corpses leading to his boss fight
Trick with the Earth Vellumental: go for the tail as soon as possible. Even if some of the legs and the head are still out, if you hit the tail, it will fully retract into its shell, leaving itself vulnerable to the 1,000-Fold Arms. Only thing to keep in mind, if you do it too soon, you may not be able to do enough damage to knock it out in one turn. It will then try to do a strong attack like the later Vellumentals, but it's not that difficult to block
The Legion of Stationery seemed like such a lazy idea at first, but they are unbelievably clever. But you know what they say, limitation breeds creativity. The game's presentation is stellar and I feel like the game did an amazing job at making these bosses feel really intense. I would've agreed Stapler was a bit of a letdown after the climactic Scissors fight, but I felt like once I did the boss rematches I can see why he was the final one. The boss rematches won't let you use accessories, and they are the way these bosses are meant to be played. Having to actually strategically remove as many staples as possible instead of being able to bruteforce the fight made it so much more intense, and feel really satisfying when he ran out of staples during his attack spam.
The most annoying boss I thought that was soo anoyibg was rubber bands because HE KEEPS regaining health by getting all his rubber bands to come to him
They may not all be original unique designs but you have to admit they’re unique in terms of moveset and fun to play againsts. You can tell intelligent systems put a lot of effort and soul into making things right after the abomination of sticker star and the controversial colour splash.
Yeah only Scissors and Pencils have the least personallity. Besides the bosses that can not even talk which are Gooper Blooper, Pokey, Buzzy Beetle, Handaconda and Sumo Bro (Haven’t played against Stapler yet so he might be with those two as well)
Though tape was an amazing boss once you got to him, his foreshadowing was horrible. All the other stationeries had amazing buildup (especially rubber band) but with tape it was just like “oh there’s toads on the wall”
I like how there's not even much of a reason for the Toads to be taped there, they just are because they needed to foreshadow Tape somehow. But his battle makes up for it.
Yes you are completely right, the foreshadowing of rubber band and hole punch was amazing! Hole punch was really funny with the faceless toads and the good music and rubber band is the coolest foreshadowing in the game with a 4-floor theatre, it was amazing!
Personally, my experience differed a lot from yours, so my list is very different: (Best to worst) Fire V - I found that this was the most puzzling boss, which I love and I thought the healing was a good obstacle, rather than something annoying Ice V - I loved the ice maze mechanic and the ice blocks sliding across Rubber bands - Same reasoning as fire vellumental Scissors - Very intense fight with the one shot mechanic Water V - The washing away added to the puzzle aspect, and it was a good way to introduce using vellumentals in battle Earth V - Amazing first battle, loved the concept of hitting all parts, and how that concept was hinted at from the very start of the dungeon. Stapler - Very interesting ending, and I likes the idea of wasting the staples to force it into it's weakened reloading state Tape - Loved the tape's persona and the ending of the fight, the taped rings mechanic was very interesting Olly - I was very disappointed with this, when I was battling it I only got to face 2 of the 4 vellumentals before he died, however the story after it was very well made Pencils - Good boss and a nice way to introduce the puzzle aspect Blooper - Best over-world fight, very standard Handaconda - The rock paper scissors idea was well made, but it was a lot simpler than the other bosses Hole punch - I found this boss to be a little too short, however it has the best build up and foreshadowing of any boss. Poki - Simple overworld boss Sumo - Too short, would rather a 5th vellumental or something Buzzy - Weird idea and this was the only place in the game where I experienced lag. Overall I love pretty much every boss and the whole circles mechanic in general.
The Vellumentals were a cool idea, and I figured out their inspiration by the time I got to Water, The 4 sacred animals of Chinese myth, but they put a polar bear in place of a white tiger Earth = Black Turtle of the North Water = Azure Dragon of the East Fire = Vermillion Bird of the South
Of course, the Fire Vellumental almost certainly had some phoenix elements to it as well. The whole "it will use fire to heal itself if you mess up the thousand-fold arms" seems to have a connection to "rising from the ashes," and also, it's a big fiery bird.
I was overall disappointed in Origami King a grand total of two times. That's it! The game is incredible. Before you click read more, spoilers ahead if you haven't finished the game yet. That out of the way... the final boss was a complete failure. First of all, the buildup to the final chapter was INSANELY well done. Teaming up with Bowser? Getting access to his military? Manning the cannon on his airship? It was awesome! Secondly, King Olly has been portrayed as a heartless "Big Bad Evil Guy". He almost straight up kills Olivia during your first interaction with him outside of the prologue. In the volcanic crater, beginning of the final dungeon, you are separated from Kamek and Bowser Jr., who have to give themselves over to the hoard to give Mario and Olivia enough time to escape. Two seconds into the final dungeon, and two of your party members are completely gone, leaving you with just a folded up version of Bowser. Thirdly, the way the Origami Castle is portrayed is completely insane, in a creepy and fantastical way. Olly clearly has the power to reshape reality, refolding the walls of the castle, stretching out the corridor, sending Mario and Bowser tumbling down the steps. It's truly chilling. The first part of the dungeon (before the Stapler) is well done in my opinion, although a bit easier than I expected in reference to the battles. I adore the creativity with the fortune tellers, and the fact they do 100 whopping damage! It really forces you to pay attention and platform well. So all this culminates to my main point. I was having an absolute blast with this game and looked forward to the final boss. The stapler was difficult, forced me to use my 1-Up Mushroom, and I still won with around ~20 HP. Up to this point I had been saving up legendary hammers, legendary boots, shiny hurlhammer, fire flowers and mushies, etc. I envisioned Olly, the Origami King, being able to manipulate the arena in surreal, terrifying ways. Perhaps folding Mario, perhaps having a mix of turn-based and real-time battle, folding himself into horrific forms... etc. Instead, we got a terrible three phase fight. Phase one: the Vellumentals. I was down for this part, it made sense in the narrative as Olly had to fold the Vellumentals in the first place. It would make sense he obtained their power (especially considering how powerful he had been shown to be throughout the story). It is important to note, however, that weapons deal absolutely no damage to Olly. You MUST use the Magic Circles to counter his Vellumental forms. Which would be fine, if the second phase of his fight required you to use the legendary hammer/boots... HANDED TO YOU BEFORE THE BOSS FIGHT. Phase two: ........beeg boys. Like, what even is this? At first I was absolutely down. The way Olly folded and reshaped reality showed how he had complete dominion over the environment. It was terrifying! But instead of folding himself into a terrifying monster, or calling in origami creations to battle for him... 'tis BIG olly. And his design sucks. And then.... BIG bowser. And.... you go around pushing x and shaking your controller. Still no great combat. Phase three: ..............BEEG boy. Olly but larger. No combat. Instead you move the circle circle and push x. .... ..my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. It's just astounding to me that Nintendo screwed up THAT badly. Legitimately, have Olly fold himself into never-before seen monsterish forms, that require the player to think about how to approach him from the 360 degree scope that the battle system allows, as well as what weapon to use to damage him effectively. Have weak spots for each form, tough spots for each form... etc. Also, deal more damage for legendary vs shiny vs normal! It's mind-blowing how much they butchered the ending... EDIT: I disagree with your placement of number 3, but I respect your opinion! It's good to see different perspectives. Also, notice how Olly folds his arms into swords, hammers, etc. during phase 3. I would've loved to see more stuff like that in a standard boss-fight setting, you know, what the game has taught you how to do for the other parts of the game? Anyways, there's just my two extra cents after finishing your list. :) If this begins a conversation I'll get to my other two complaints, or hopefully some of my numerous praises of the game. But for now... what was this ending. It's truly saddening. That being said, once I 100% the game, I'm already planning on replaying it. The rest of the game is so good it still makes up for it. Game is still probably a 9 out of 10. 10 out of 10 if it had a proper final boss fight.
Your opinion mirrors my own. Olly's fight would have been WAY better had it taken your approach. Me personally,I would have had Olly fight in his normal form,using his shapeshifting abilities to change into souped up variants of elite enemies like Sledge Bros. Then he would change into the Vellumentals and add some new Mechanics to each of their forms. Finally, I would have a Final Phase where you work with Bowser to fight a hideous amalgamation of all the Vellumental forms that can use all of their abilities on top of some new ones.
I personally really enjoyed the final boss, and I liked the new ways it made you fight in the second and third phases. It would have been super cool to have a phase where you just straight up fight him, perhaps with a gimmick where those origami fortune-teller spike things would be moving around the board and you would have to place and time things so you wouldn't hit them, and it would have been awesome if the second phase was harder. Like... it's possible to lose, but my first playthrough, I never even saw the POW block. Overall, the final fight was more atmospheric than challenging. I can appreciate that and all, but I would have enjoyed something more substantial, and I'm well aware I'm not the only one who feels this way. My other part of the game that I strongly disliked was when you go into Professor Toad's room for the first time, and you look at his diary, and Olivia tells you to think about what it says, so you go to the Sun Altar, but nothing happens, and it turns out you were supposed to go to the front desk. Like... who would think to go to the front desk when you know the Professor is at the Sun Altar and you've been told to find the professor? Is this anywhere near as bad as the underwhelming final boss? No. Is it still a glaring game design flaw? Absolutely. It's glaring enough that it's one of the things I remember best about the game, right up there with the experience of watching my sister play through Autumn Mountain, sprinkling in some dark humor, when I was already well into the yellow streamer.
That’s my least favorite boss by far. It’s super easy. The first part all you have to do is refight some of the elementals and all you have to do is use one of your powers and you instantly win. The second phase all you have to do is jump over a few things and keep hitting a. And the third part all you have to do is solve a really easy puzzle and hit a few times. I think the build up to the final boss was amazing but the boss itself sucked. I also think the ending of the game was one of the stupidest and worst endings in the video game. But that’s just my opinion
@@theearthkingdom7537 I agree the boss was easy, but not the worst, did you forget the rather unnecessary Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle? Also, yeah, the ending could have been better, to be honest. It seems a bit silly that it was all just a communication error that Olly didn't realise what the Toad had actually written was a nice message. Maybe if there was a very strict rule of "DON'T WRITE, DRAW, OR SCRIBBLE ON ORIGAMI!" then it might have worked better. All in all, it wasn't too bad. It was streets ahead of Sticker Star's Final Battle and Ending, as the final boss was tedious, required very specific Things and the final phase was no sweat with some Flashy Infinijumps! And the ending, much like the storyline, was paper thin... Nothing to it... So maybe Olly's battle could have been better, maybe he merges the 4 Vellumentals into one giant one, which would be cool, and maybe his ending could have been better, but there's not too much to complain about, since the game is solid on main storyline, only losing points for its ending, and it is very enjoyable and better than SS and CS (opinions, of course).

I will admit, i was dodging all of the scissors attacks my first time i fought them, but when the scissors was just dead at one hammer attack, I missed my jump and i was terrified that mario got cut in half, I didnt know that mario can put himself back fine with a 1up mushroom that i completely forgot i had ever since the second boss, that 1up mushroom i had was completely clutch, mightve as well just given a 1up mushroom to bowser jr XD
Way to beat the Fire Vellumental: Stay in place, no attacking (and occasionally bringing a heart up to Mario) Wait until the Fire Vellumental is ready for the special attack, get the water boi, FWOOSH, Pluck EZ win
Do you know the easy way to go defeat the five Elemental it's just doing nothing but about for a few turns and then find a chest and get the on switch and then use water vellumental and then use the water bill Mitchell magic circle and defeat him with a thousand fold arms technique
With Handiconda every time you lose or get a draw his hand gets bigger which makes him stronger, I believe once he gets to Level 3 Hand Size he tries to trick you, he will show Scissors with his hand and if you pick rock he will pick paper.
I'd say Stapler is the best boss, period. Super skill based, gotta only go up to second ring. You also gotta hit that +1 attack and dodge staplers attacks. Loved it
The earth vellumental you can hit each sides, but if you just hit the tail it quickens the process, that's why I would rank him so high, but I enjoyed all the bosses, already completed the game and still pop it in just to enjoy th bosses in the battle lab.
Note about Scissors. I think with his board clearing move he will always clear ON and Ice Vellumental from the board if you break the cover. I broke the cover first try then did it again to be funny. Was a hard fight, he didn’t leave the ice panel for me once.
Tape's best feature was being Joey Wheeler but as stationary. Scizzor's best feature was how after you break the sheath, the cut attacks look absolutely amazing as a "Sorry you got ohko'd" prize, Rubber band's best feature was his ability to somehow generate more bands to fling [it's easy to see in the last part of phase 1, where his hands are like 2 bands each. Stapler's best feature was how well its attacks portray it's feral nature - being rediculous frenzies of stapling. Coloured pencil's best feature was the pun on the attack "Worst Case". Hole puncher's best feature was that every attack he is doing SOMETHING to show off.
These are my 2 lists bases on the bosses. 1 is how cool, fun and unique they were and 1 is based in difficulty. I could not include Stapler and King Olly as I haven’t played against them yet. Cool, unique and fun: 13 Pokey 12 Sumo Bro 11 Buzzy Beetle 10 Handaconda 9 Earth Vellumental 8 Fire Vellumental 7 Hole Punch 6 Colored Pencils 5 Gooper Blooper 4 Tape 3 Ice Vellumental 2 Water Vellumental 1 Rubber Band Based on difficulty: Note: how far it is in the story will also apply to this list. How long the boss battle will take will not apply as some bosses may not be very hard, but will take some time. 13 Earth Vellumental first boss, 1 hit on tail and he is dead. 12 Handaconda, unique and funny but really easy 11 Gooper Blooper, cool but quite easy to take out 10 Coloured Pencils First final boss, interesting but not so hard 9 Sumo Bro, weird boss, can be either very easy or quite hard. 8 Buzzy Beetle, easy to take out, damage is big 7 Tape, very anoying and unexpecting, but he is weak when it comes to damage 6 Pokey, big damage per attack but easy to take out 5 Hole Punch, can be very anoying but will not do great damage to you 4 Ice Vellumental, He can deal some serious damage and it takes 2 turns to attack him 3 Fire Vellumental, can be very anoying with molten feathers 2 Rubber Band, take some time to figure out what to do 1 Water Vellumental, heavy damage, not far in game. So it can be unexpecting to take 40 damage in 1 hit. And most people are not really experienced in boss battles yet, at this moment
Here's a tip for ice vellumental's ice maze: *Take a photo using the bottom button on your left controller. Once you get to move the rings, go to home menu, go to album, and look at the photo, go back in the game, match the rings, and repeat until you've got it right*
Is it just me or was Scissors incredibly easy? Like it was by far the easiest boss for me. When I defeated it for the first time I was like, "That's it??? There has to be more right???"
I dont mind the overworld paper mache fights... But I would've preferred them in the ring format. They definitely couldve worked (Gooper using his tentacles to limit where you move since you cant jump over the tentacles, the Paper Mistake is straight up magic, Mega Pokey can generate sand tornados, etc)
Handaconda mistake: If you win, you attack him, that part is correct. However it is if you TIE then it's hand gets bigger, thus more damage for it when it attacks.
I haven’t seen the video, but here are my top 3: 1: King Olly. Does it need an explanation for how great this is? Coming at a close 2nd, Scissors. I love how you need to jump to dodge his attack. It was super fun the first time. (And the others) #3, Handaconda. I might not be spelling that right, but it was SO interesting to first save Olivia and then play Rock Paper Scissors! Honorable mention: ice vellumental. I LOVE the Ice maze part!
Honestly, when I was fighting the ice vellumental I didnt even notice that there is a laid out path which he then destroys. I just didnt pay attention and played normally just fine. And I wonder if this means a) there are multiple solutions or b) Im just good lol
I'd say that 2 and 1 can be interchangeable. Scissors is pretty hard, (And I didn't see the save block after the buzzy beatle) and Tape is a pretty good follow up, great music, great boss fight, and overall a great bossfight, so this ranking make's me pretty happy. (Also the Fire Vellumental is pretty Cryptic ngl)

Honestly I dindn't expect the water vellumental to be high. You can literally avoid the spouts by going forward. That's it. Though I will admit it was useful in the later bosses lol.
If I’m being honest my least favorite Has to be the final boss. The build up to the final boss was amazing and then the boss itself was lackluster boring and really easy
I think the idea of the Fire Vellumental was that since it takes so few hits (just compare its HP with Stapler, not even close), you're meant to mess it up, have it regen, and then do it properly. Being the idiot that I am, this fight took me a good half hour.
All the "intensity" in the Scissors fight is completely gone when the guy gives you a gigantic and incredibly forgiving window to dodge his attack. Scissors is one of the easiest boss fights I have ever played.

Yes you are completely right, the foreshadowing of rubber band and hole punch was amazing! Hole punch was really funny with the faceless toads and the good music and rubber band is the coolest foreshadowing in the game with a 4-floor theatre, it was amazing!
Personally, my experience differed a lot from yours, so my list is very different: (Best to worst)
Fire V
- I found that this was the most puzzling boss, which I love and I thought the healing was a good obstacle, rather than something annoying
Ice V
- I loved the ice maze mechanic and the ice blocks sliding across
Rubber bands
- Same reasoning as fire vellumental
Scissors
- Very intense fight with the one shot mechanic
Water V
- The washing away added to the puzzle aspect, and it was a good way to introduce using vellumentals in battle
Earth V
- Amazing first battle, loved the concept of hitting all parts, and how that concept was hinted at from the very start of the dungeon.
Stapler
- Very interesting ending, and I likes the idea of wasting the staples to force it into it's weakened reloading state
Tape
- Loved the tape's persona and the ending of the fight, the taped rings mechanic was very interesting
Olly
- I was very disappointed with this, when I was battling it I only got to face 2 of the 4 vellumentals before he died, however the story after it was very well made
Pencils
- Good boss and a nice way to introduce the puzzle aspect
Blooper
- Best over-world fight, very standard
Handaconda
- The rock paper scissors idea was well made, but it was a lot simpler than the other bosses
Hole punch
- I found this boss to be a little too short, however it has the best build up and foreshadowing of any boss.

- Too short, would rather a 5th vellumental or something

- Weird idea and this was the only place in the game where I experienced lag.

Of course, the Fire Vellumental almost certainly had some phoenix elements to it as well. The whole "it will use fire to heal itself if you mess up the thousand-fold arms" seems to have a connection to "rising from the ashes," and also, it's a big fiery bird.

I was overall disappointed in Origami King a grand total of two times. That's it! The game is incredible.
Before you click read more, spoilers ahead if you haven't finished the game yet.
That out of the way... the final boss was a complete failure. First of all, the buildup to the final chapter was INSANELY well done. Teaming up with Bowser? Getting access to his military? Manning the cannon on his airship? It was awesome!
Secondly, King Olly has been portrayed as a heartless "Big Bad Evil Guy". He almost straight up kills Olivia during your first interaction with him outside of the prologue. In the volcanic crater, beginning of the final dungeon, you are separated from Kamek and Bowser Jr., who have to give themselves over to the hoard to give Mario and Olivia enough time to escape. Two seconds into the final dungeon, and two of your party members are completely gone, leaving you with just a folded up version of Bowser.
Thirdly, the way the Origami Castle is portrayed is completely insane, in a creepy and fantastical way. Olly clearly has the power to reshape reality, refolding the walls of the castle, stretching out the corridor, sending Mario and Bowser tumbling down the steps. It's truly chilling. The first part of the dungeon (before the Stapler) is well done in my opinion, although a bit easier than I expected in reference to the battles. I adore the creativity with the fortune tellers, and the fact they do 100 whopping damage! It really forces you to pay attention and platform well.
So all this culminates to my main point. I was having an absolute blast with this game and looked forward to the final boss. The stapler was difficult, forced me to use my 1-Up Mushroom, and I still won with around ~20 HP. Up to this point I had been saving up legendary hammers, legendary boots, shiny hurlhammer, fire flowers and mushies, etc. I envisioned Olly, the Origami King, being able to manipulate the arena in surreal, terrifying ways. Perhaps folding Mario, perhaps having a mix of turn-based and real-time battle, folding himself into horrific forms... etc.
Instead, we got a terrible three phase fight. Phase one: the Vellumentals. I was down for this part, it made sense in the narrative as Olly had to fold the Vellumentals in the first place. It would make sense he obtained their power (especially considering how powerful he had been shown to be throughout the story). It is important to note, however, that weapons deal absolutely no damage to Olly. You MUST use the Magic Circles to counter his Vellumental forms. Which would be fine, if the second phase of his fight required you to use the legendary hammer/boots... HANDED TO YOU BEFORE THE BOSS FIGHT.
Phase two: ........beeg boys. Like, what even is this? At first I was absolutely down. The way Olly folded and reshaped reality showed how he had complete dominion over the environment. It was terrifying! But instead of folding himself into a terrifying monster, or calling in origami creations to battle for him... 'tis BIG olly. And his design sucks. And then.... BIG bowser. And.... you go around pushing x and shaking your controller. Still no great combat.
Phase three: ..............BEEG boy. Olly but larger. No combat. Instead you move the circle circle and push x.
....
..my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
It's just astounding to me that Nintendo screwed up THAT badly. Legitimately, have Olly fold himself into never-before seen monsterish forms, that require the player to think about how to approach him from the 360 degree scope that the battle system allows, as well as what weapon to use to damage him effectively. Have weak spots for each form, tough spots for each form... etc. Also, deal more damage for legendary vs shiny vs normal! It's mind-blowing how much they butchered the ending...
EDIT: I disagree with your placement of number 3, but I respect your opinion! It's good to see different perspectives. Also, notice how Olly folds his arms into swords, hammers, etc. during phase 3. I would've loved to see more stuff like that in a standard boss-fight setting, you know, what the game has taught you how to do for the other parts of the game? Anyways, there's just my two extra cents after finishing your list. :)
If this begins a conversation I'll get to my other two complaints, or hopefully some of my numerous praises of the game. But for now... what was this ending. It's truly saddening. That being said, once I 100% the game, I'm already planning on replaying it. The rest of the game is so good it still makes up for it.
Game is still probably a 9 out of 10. 10 out of 10 if it had a proper final boss fight.

Olly's fight would have been WAY better had it taken your approach.
Me personally,I would have had Olly fight in his normal form,using his shapeshifting abilities to change into souped up variants of elite enemies like Sledge Bros.
Then he would change into the Vellumentals and add some new Mechanics to each of their forms.
Finally, I would have a Final Phase where you work with Bowser to fight a hideous amalgamation of all the Vellumental forms that can use all of their abilities on top of some new ones.
I personally really enjoyed the final boss, and I liked the new ways it made you fight in the second and third phases. It would have been super cool to have a phase where you just straight up fight him, perhaps with a gimmick where those origami fortune-teller spike things would be moving around the board and you would have to place and time things so you wouldn't hit them, and it would have been awesome if the second phase was harder. Like... it's possible to lose, but my first playthrough, I never even saw the POW block. Overall, the final fight was more atmospheric than challenging. I can appreciate that and all, but I would have enjoyed something more substantial, and I'm well aware I'm not the only one who feels this way.
My other part of the game that I strongly disliked was when you go into Professor Toad's room for the first time, and you look at his diary, and Olivia tells you to think about what it says, so you go to the Sun Altar, but nothing happens, and it turns out you were supposed to go to the front desk. Like... who would think to go to the front desk when you know the Professor is at the Sun Altar and you've been told to find the professor? Is this anywhere near as bad as the underwhelming final boss? No. Is it still a glaring game design flaw? Absolutely. It's glaring enough that it's one of the things I remember best about the game, right up there with the experience of watching my sister play through Autumn Mountain, sprinkling in some dark humor, when I was already well into the yellow streamer.

That’s my least favorite boss by far. It’s super easy. The first part all you have to do is refight some of the elementals and all you have to do is use one of your powers and you instantly win. The second phase all you have to do is jump over a few things and keep hitting a. And the third part all you have to do is solve a really easy puzzle and hit a few times. I think the build up to the final boss was amazing but the boss itself sucked. I also think the ending of the game was one of the stupidest and worst endings in the video game. But that’s just my opinion
@@theearthkingdom7537 I agree the boss was easy, but not the worst, did you forget the rather unnecessary Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle? Also, yeah, the ending could have been better, to be honest. It seems a bit silly that it was all just a communication error that Olly didn't realise what the Toad had actually written was a nice message. Maybe if there was a very strict rule of "DON'T WRITE, DRAW, OR SCRIBBLE ON ORIGAMI!" then it might have worked better. All in all, it wasn't too bad. It was streets ahead of Sticker Star's Final Battle and Ending, as the final boss was tedious, required very specific Things and the final phase was no sweat with some Flashy Infinijumps! And the ending, much like the storyline, was paper thin... Nothing to it...
So maybe Olly's battle could have been better, maybe he merges the 4 Vellumentals into one giant one, which would be cool, and maybe his ending could have been better, but there's not too much to complain about, since the game is solid on main storyline, only losing points for its ending, and it is very enjoyable and better than SS and CS (opinions, of course).

When I was fighting king only I only ended up facing 2 of the 4 vellumentals since he just died so fast.
I actually battled three because I took too long in his ice vellumental form and he healed enough to get one more vellumental form out.

I will admit, i was dodging all of the scissors attacks my first time i fought them, but when the scissors was just dead at one hammer attack, I missed my jump and i was terrified that mario got cut in half, I didnt know that mario can put himself back fine with a 1up mushroom that i completely forgot i had ever since the second boss, that 1up mushroom i had was completely clutch, mightve as well just given a 1up mushroom to bowser jr XD

With Handiconda every time you lose or get a draw his hand gets bigger which makes him stronger, I believe once he gets to Level 3 Hand Size he tries to trick you, he will show Scissors with his hand and if you pick rock he will pick paper.
I'd say Stapler is the best boss, period. Super skill based, gotta only go up to second ring. You also gotta hit that +1 attack and dodge staplers attacks. Loved it

The earth vellumental you can hit each sides, but if you just hit the tail it quickens the process, that's why I would rank him so high, but I enjoyed all the bosses, already completed the game and still pop it in just to enjoy th bosses in the battle lab.

Note about Scissors. I think with his board clearing move he will always clear ON and Ice Vellumental from the board if you break the cover. I broke the cover first try then did it again to be funny. Was a hard fight, he didn’t leave the ice panel for me once.

I had problems figuring out that the head was vulnerable for the Earth Vellumental. I didn’t know that it only showed Shell when you chose the Boots.
The hardest boss is.............. DEALING WITH BOBBY'S DEATH GOD DAMMIT THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE
Tape's best feature was being Joey Wheeler but as stationary. Scizzor's best feature was how after you break the sheath, the cut attacks look absolutely amazing as a "Sorry you got ohko'd" prize, Rubber band's best feature was his ability to somehow generate more bands to fling [it's easy to see in the last part of phase 1, where his hands are like 2 bands each. Stapler's best feature was how well its attacks portray it's feral nature - being rediculous frenzies of stapling. Coloured pencil's best feature was the pun on the attack "Worst Case". Hole puncher's best feature was that every attack he is doing SOMETHING to show off.
These are my 2 lists bases on the bosses. 1 is how cool, fun and unique they were and 1 is based in difficulty. I could not include Stapler and King Olly as I haven’t played against them yet.

1 Water Vellumental, heavy damage, not far in game. So it can be unexpecting to take 40 damage in 1 hit. And most people are not really experienced in boss battles yet, at this moment
Here's a tip for ice vellumental's ice maze:
*Take a photo using the bottom button on your left controller. Once you get to move the rings, go to home menu, go to album, and look at the photo, go back in the game, match the rings, and repeat until you've got it right*

Is it just me or was Scissors incredibly easy? Like it was by far the easiest boss for me. When I defeated it for the first time I was like, "That's it??? There has to be more right???"
I dont mind the overworld paper mache fights...
But I would've preferred them in the ring format. They definitely couldve worked (Gooper using his tentacles to limit where you move since you cant jump over the tentacles, the Paper Mistake is straight up magic, Mega Pokey can generate sand tornados, etc)
Handaconda mistake:
If you win, you attack him, that part is correct. However it is if you TIE then it's hand gets bigger, thus more damage for it when it attacks.
King Olly Phase 3:
Slide all pieces first to fix the puzzle, then spin the pieces so the green part is at the top.
I haven’t seen the video, but here are my top 3: 1: King Olly. Does it need an explanation for how great this is? Coming at a close 2nd, Scissors. I love how you need to jump to dodge his attack. It was super fun the first time. (And the others) #3, Handaconda. I might not be spelling that right, but it was SO interesting to first save Olivia and then play Rock Paper Scissors!
Honorable mention: ice vellumental. I LOVE the Ice maze part!

Honestly, when I was fighting the ice vellumental I didnt even notice that there is a laid out path which he then destroys. I just didnt pay attention and played normally just fine. And I wonder if this means a) there are multiple solutions or b) Im just good lol
You do realize that if you hit the tail for the earth vullemental before hitting anything else you can beat him very easily.
I'd say that 2 and 1 can be interchangeable. Scissors is pretty hard, (And I didn't see the save block after the buzzy beatle) and Tape is a pretty good follow up, great music, great boss fight, and overall a great bossfight, so this ranking make's me pretty happy. (Also the Fire Vellumental is pretty Cryptic ngl)

Honestly I dindn't expect the water vellumental to be high. You can literally avoid the spouts by going forward. That's it. Though I will admit it was useful in the later bosses lol.
If I’m being honest my least favorite Has to be the final boss. The build up to the final boss was amazing and then the boss itself was lackluster boring and really easy
Also, you should listen to Juno Song’s songs, as they have some of the most fire songs ever
I think the idea of the Fire Vellumental was that since it takes so few hits (just compare its HP with Stapler, not even close), you're meant to mess it up, have it regen, and then do it properly. Being the idiot that I am, this fight took me a good half hour.

All the "intensity" in the Scissors fight is completely gone when the guy gives you a gigantic and incredibly forgiving window to dodge his attack.
