Weekdays usually have more metrolink and a little more freight action than weekends and the best time to go is around 6-11 AM and 1-7 PM but you might catch the Miramar local around 12 pm
It’s usually good to go during rush hours like 7:00 - 11:00 in the morning and 2:00 - 6:00 in the evening, from 10:30 - 1:00 there are one to no freights 2 - 3 amtraks and no metrolinks. In the morning rush there are lots of SB metrolinks and amtraks. In the evening there are a lot of pretty much everything besides northbound metrolinks.
