Great topic! I find that for this industry UV inhibitors are a must in your product. Also......I NEVER store my brushes hair side up, I always clean them and lay them flat. Any kind of house cleaning that I am doing that I am using cleaners or chemicals I always wear gloves. I think the most important thing is getting products with a UV Inhibitor, and cleaning/storing brushes appropriately.
Yes! I hang my so the brush end is pointed down. Same way I do with my makeup brushes, I take care of them & they last me years so I wouldn’t treat my nail brushes any differently.
With gel manicures, check the topcoat. I’ve purchased gel topcoat brand new only to find that I open the bottle and it’s already yellowed. You can usually see if it’s starting to yellow by looking closely at the bead on the brush under the light. You can also cure a bead of the gel on something white, perhaps the backing of a nail form and test for clarity. I’ve had to do process of elimination with yellowing: product already discolored (my issue) or asking whether or not using certain cleaning products or self tanner or chlorine in determining if it’s only that one client or several. Clearly if it’s several clients it is a me problem. That’s when I thrown the product out and start fresh. Footnote: this was NOT YN topcoat 😉
i dont have a problem with product yellowing i have a problem with gel top coat reputable very good product looking soft soft yellow but looks ckear when applying fresh a week later it seems yellowish love your nails

I did core white on my 13yr daughter and the top coat turned color like it was stained. I was thinking on getting stain resistant but I saw a review where they claimed it cracked over gel polish. Maybe you guys can talk about the stain resistant finish gel. I'll like to know what we can and can not do with it.
I have a glossy top coat by CND and had it for over a year maybe more. And I don’t use it much. I noticed when I do use it it doesn’t have a very clear look. When I put it on top of a white I can see the top coat has a slight blue in it. Very very slight discolouration. I guess it means it’s expired now ? Lol
I have this gorgeous sheer white gel polish, and I get so annoyed when it yellows even after a second too long under the lamp lol 😂 enjoyed this video 💕
WHAT are these table towel things Tracey is talking about!? I need to know! I’m not having an issue with discoloring but I’m having an issue with product buildup in my brush as I’m working it gets goopy no matter how many times I wipe it after touching the acrylic, and even after doing everything I can to pick it out of the brush and clean it with monomer and wipe it off on paper towel (those blue auto paper towels) it can still dry up in there -_- so frustrating!

Someone I know worked out that her fake tan and purple shampoo was the thing that was making her nail colours change because it was dulling and slightly yellowing the gel top coat. I said for her to ask her nail tech for stain resistant but turns out they don’t have one just the regular one. 😐😔

Ughhh yep 😞 The worst! Or if you’re like me & have a nail that just grows wonky, you first do them & they look great. Everything is straight & even but then a week to 10 days later that 1 nail is looking super crooked ☹️ thankfully I’m the one doing the nails lol so I don’t have to wait to get in somewhere to fix it, but I’m definitely not ready for a new set or a fill in a week so I just reshape that 1 but with that I have to redo the polish on it.
@@krystalfukinmarie757 girl don't even sweat that nail till you're ready to change them, everyone has that one nail that makes their finger look crooked when they have nails but I'm sure it's not that bad and other people probably don't notice it but because you do I get it

It can crack on gel polish if it’s on the natural nail since it’s a hard gel top coat. It works great over acrylic or hard gel

It could be the glue in the ferrule, holding the brush bristles together that's turning the product yellow.
