I believe it would be more inclusive to refer to the language as Manipuri rather than Meiteilon. The term Meiteilon signifies the language of the Meitei people specifically, whereas Manipuri is the official language of our diverse state and is listed in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Using Manipuri reflects our cultural diversity and fosters a sense of unity.

In my opinion, it's inclusive when the word "Manipuri" is used for people of Manipur, not in the language. We know Meiteilon is a lingua-franca in the state that doesn't mean that every other community doesn't have their own native language which is only known by their respective names referring to the community. Likewise, Meitei language is native to Meitei people and it's our mother tongue. So, it should be named as Meiteilon, not Manipuri.
