- In this video we visit New Forest Koi based in Hamphire.
New Forest Koi have been breeding Koi in the UK for over 25 years and in this video Richard Carpenter selects through some of the high grade Koi which have been especially selected through the breeding programme for growing on through to nisai, sansai and yonsai. Varieties include Kohaku, Sanke, Kujaku, Kumonryu, Ginrin Matsukawabake, Chagoi, Karashigoi, Ochiba Shigure, Ginrin Asagi and others.
Every Koi you see in this video has been bred in the UK at New Forest Koi, be prepared for a surprise in the quality, I know I was.
I've bought some lovely fish from New Forest Koi over the years, the first one a kohaku in 1993 I think - he's doing fine 28 years later and has kept his red /body shape really well. Earlier this year I bought 9 good quality youngsters to grow on, quality for the price is very decent. I try to limit my trips to NFK, as my bank account always suffers ! Thanks for the great video.
Verey nice fish ,which are a credit to a very talented man
Amazing selection of beautiful fish. Thanks for sharing.
Another fantastic video and insight into UK breeders thought process, oh and of course some stunning koi.
Well done mark 👍🏻
Never seen this area of new forest koi and we have bought many fish from these guys, I think they keep the best fish for the big customers
Great watch :)
Great video, great company I have bought a number of koi from them. Lovely koi, great growth rates and friendly staff.👍
I am awaiting my delivery today from new forest to grow on and learn from, very pleased with my koi from last year from them, thanks for the video mark
I certainly would purchase the Matsukawabake that have decided to keep along with a couple of kumonryu. But, hey ho that's the way its goes.
Have a funny feeling those Asagi may end up very dark with sumi blotching.
Great vid Mark.Reminds me of my early koi days going to see those boys.

Try contacting one of the Koi society in Australia as a starting point, they should be able to point you in the right direction

@@barrykoikeepercooper8052 - Hi Barry - looking to purchase japanese koi fry... best place to buy suggestion will help?
thank you
@@wiseachiever cuttlebrook koi farm or New forest koi the fry should all be a reasonably size now but you will need to keep them at temperature of 18c plus over winter with small fish tank heater
There is no guarantee with fish at all.
