It’s sad that her company failed to protect her. Especially during the lazy scandal era. She was injured and was having health issues but the company didn’t release a statement until 2 years later. Late 2017, Whole 2018 and Early 2019 are the years that is very TRAUMATIZING for me as a Kpop fan and a Blink.
I kept on defending Jennie until I was tired. She got constant hate on a daily basis on those years and it's SUPER saddening. I cried because the comments are super harsh, super dehumanizing and super degrading.
Those were the DARK DAYS that Blinks had to endure. But those are the days that made Blinks strong too. It's a BITTERSWEET moment for us because Jennie get hated but the fandom was even more stronger.
If you are a Blink since 2017 and defending Jennie on the bandwagon hate those years, I love you. As a Blink who experienced, it is the most unforgettable moment. It'll forever leave a scar to my heart.

This video is from back in 2019 when everyone thought Fans were using Jennie's injury as an excuse until BP documentary when Jennie herself addresses that she gets worn out easily and sick. And a month back or two Jennie also commented to a Fan that her ankle is still healing but she's good now. So yeah in short she's portrayed as 'The Villain'.

This brings me back to 2018-2019 where "hatejennie" era was at its peak. it still really angers me how YG didn't step in and like purposely threw Jennie in a water full of sharks waiting to devour her, she was hated for being "lazy", yg didn't clarify anything, then they made her debut as a solo first despite the situation, not that I don't love Solo but the timing was really off, and lastly they gave a dumbass reply to Jennie's dating issues🤦 I'm just glad now that everything came to light and the reason behind her so called "lazy scandal" is now revealed. Also about YG why they didnt release so much music for Blackpink and their comebacks take so much time. its NOT because "YG hates money".
Its about the policy and how YG treats their artists.
Lee Hi(former YG artist) revealed how the company handles artists combacks. they dont want more than 5 artists per year to have a comeback. to prevent the artists AND staff from overworking.
They want to focus all their resources and energy on 1 specific comeback at the time. sure it sucks for fans who are waiting. but its a much healthier work enviroment for the artists and staff.
Other companies like JYP overwork their artist to the max till they get mental issues and other depressions(see Twice).
Also YG (and especially the blacklable) are known for their Quality over quantity policy. as teddy said in Light up the sky "I know the fans want more more more.. and we have alot in here(computer). but we are very specific on what we put out".
the public (ESPECIALLY in korea) LOVE to see YG as the villain. because they dont give a fuck what people think about them.. they are savages. but as you said.. there is always 2 sides of a coin.
YG is also one of the most fair and best companies when it comes to artist payments. basically all YG artists are RICH AF. they dont overwork their artists either. the fact that they used "mixnine" to show how bad yg is or showed "yg gambled with bp's money" when they ain't true. YG used his own many to gamble in western which is legal in some western country and Korean gov saw this as a target to get something as well.
and mixnine was shutdown because some winner's company of that show have the other plans than to debut in mixnine. that's why yg didn't continue debut mixnine 9 winners because they are incomplete.only 8 who agreed to debut but the other didn't want to continue. and its the best thing tho.
Almost had me with this description of YG, but then I remembered what they did to 2NE1 and later on to CL. 2NE1 and Big Bang were THE BIGGEST GROUPS of their time and they were money machines for YG. There is no other idol like CL in all of Korea and no one can deny that, yet look what they did. 'Questionable decisions' is the understament of the century when you think about the way they used 2NE1 to skyrocket Blackpink into worldwide fame. This is what they do I guess, they draw attention to them, and when everyone is looking, they put out something new. Before it happened with Jennie's solo, it happened with Blackpink. They got so much hate when they debuted, because of the way YG mistreated 2NE1.

In my opinion, people hate on others so that they can project their own insecurities onto other people. They are jealous of something that Jennie has (fame, good looks, talent, whatever it may be) and they can't stand it so instead of remembering that she is a human being that feels things, they attack her for no reason. Regarding the 2018 performances, I think that people are always going to see it in their own way. Maybe it wasn't her best year, but maybe it was just perceived wrong. Who knows. But regardless, she shouldn't have gotten the hate that she did because of it. She's human. Humans aren't and will never be "perfect." I really feel for Jennie (and the other members, as well as idols/celebrities in general) because they can't even breathe or do things that other people who aren't famous do (like dating for example) without someone having something negative to say. It must be exhausting, so I'm personally really proud of her for continuing to push through and shine bright.

This "documentary" is produced by a self-proclaimed Kpop expert. She goes by the name MERA. She has close to a cult following that worship every word she spits out and thinks her defecation doesn't stink. She is proficient at producing these kind of "opinion" videos and frankly she does such a great job and is very convincing. She is expert at mixing facts and her opinions.

I would say that I AM JENNIE is a better documentary that explains many other things. As a BLINK made it and I am just saying show Jennies Mistreatment video as well. Like those explain the Lazy Scandal and things like that. The only thing I can say is Jennie has a weak body as weak stamina I myself have it so seeing people attacking her hurt a lot. I can explain it how I experienced it. I once Was supposed to run 2 rounds to have 800 meters. So I ran like an half and mainly walked then. I had a headache I was feeling dizzy but i did it because I didn't want to do it later. It was really bad for me because I felt like abou a half a hour dizzy like you are about to faint. So yeah. This is why started to relate to her more my bias is Jisoo but somehow I sometimes think it might be Jennie nowadays. Actually they're not haters of Jennie, they're just too obsessed who dreamin too be wife w/ V.. I just ignore it cause all of them sound like little kids lol.. most likely cause they are of even if they’re of age- it’s immature.
This video has a lot of facts but also a lot of things not discussed.
1) YG said Jennie's ankle injury healed in 2018 but in 2020, it was revealed that her ankle had still not fully healed. They obviously said she had fully healed so she could continue to perform.
2) To say Blinks were delusional for supporting her is just ??? She had a public breakdown and anxiety attacks on stage multiple times. They have all been filmed and most also again removed. So it's not just hiding evidence of her "bad" performances, but any videos showing her poor physical health as well.
3) Rose had been preparing for her solo right after Jennie but only managed to release it in 2021 because she had two solos instead of one which they wanted to release together, and combined with YG' business scandals (different story altogether), collaboration with producers outside of YG for one of the singles, and the production of their first album for 2020, the release for Rose was pushed. So this whole Jennie was favoured over the others was crap. Jisoo doesn't have a solo yet, but it's in works. Anyway, Jisoo has always stated she wants to be an actress and YG procured a leading role for her in a Kdrama which is insane because usually idols don't jump straight onto lead roles in Kdramas, only supporting roles. Look at V from BTS and Baekhyun from EXO, being insanely popular yet only supporting roles.
4) She says after Jennie's Solo release she was the only one performing till the end of 2018. Well her solo released in November 2018. So yes, she would be publicising her solo for at least two months till 2018 ended lol. Also Blackpink definitely performed in year end award shows at the same time in 2018 with Ddu du Ddu du and Forever Young, so that's not even accurate.
5) Lastly, I can show you countless performers who forget their lines and their steps often (looking at you, Suga and Jin of BTS if we're talking about other famous groups), but especially if they're male, they face no hate whatsoever. Give me a break. It's a sexist industry. Let's face it.

Actually in 2020 fans found out Jennie was actually recovering her leg injury. Jisoo is supposed to have her solo debut in 2022 December. As her first K-Drama Snowdrop is going to air soon. Man, I never stopped loving Jennie. I think that it's never right to hate on someone no matter how much you think you "know" them. Because you'll never know what's ACTUALLY going on. Especially considering BLACKPINK were so hidden and had long hiatuses. Yes, it may have been frustrating seeing Jennie onstage performing like that, but there were probably reasons behind it. You have to put yourself in her shoes as well. Like what if there was a viable reason she was acting like that? And then getting tons of hate unrelentingly? And the "Jennie gets better outfits??". Jennie had 9 ankle injuries so far since debut, she has low stamina and in general a weak body (she talked about it in their official documentary on netflix), she was seen walking with cruches several times and bandages but still YG did not give any official confirmation about her health conditions back then and neither now.

Not gonna lie, as her fan it’s truely heartbreaking because at the end of the day she always got less than her members. She was always promoted less, her solo gigs became group gigs because of yge. The company said they care about their reputation more and will not protect Jennie when she got death treats and slandered on.
What really happened was she injured her ankle several on the day they were shooting Boombayah MV(first debut song). She was rushed to the hospital and the doctor said she needed rest, but she didn’t want to fail her group so she took painkillers and finished the MV shooting. It was revealed that the same ankle was injured 9 times since the first time. Jennie’s mom said that Jennie was born with a weak body, she suffers from motion sickness to which she takes medication.
She dances in heels with her not fully healed ankles. Also if you do some research then you will find that ankle injury will leave you with a weak ankle which makes you prone to many injuries.
She always talks about how she does her best to be careful and does Pilates to heal her ankle.
The day she debuted solo, she said that she is a shield for other members and it is true because she always takes the heat targeted at the group.
She even had to apologize for “lacking” on her birthday.

Talking about the albums, kpop albums differ : mini album and a whole album.
That's basically where BP first mini album was, those with Boombayah, Whistle, Playing with fire. And this current album is their one first whole album.
The thing about Jennie's clothes being best was actually a problem with the stylist. This was already fixed in 2020, but I guess some people still find it a "problem" because now all the members get good outfits. But back then, the stylist was basically setting up Jennie by giving her the best outfit, not intentionally. In 2020 the stylist was changed and now it's all resolved. We don't know if YG knew about the stylist back in 2017, but he definetely found out in between 2019 and 2020.

When watching you shoud keep in mind that this video was made a long time ago and some things are not true anymore. For instance, yg gave a solo to Jennie at the end of 2018 and said that the other girl would get a solo but for 2 years there were no news of solo for the other member (both Rosé and Lisa's solo came out in 2021 and Jisoo still doesn't have a solo)
