Another awesome effort both and as you say, great training for the events to come, thanks as always for taking us along on the adventure, I bet a hot shower felt good that night!! take care and all the best
It certainly did Jon. Quite a relief by the end too but enjoyed the day so much. We’ve both had illnesses earlier this year (only bugs but they really interfere with training) so it’s nice to string some of the bigger stuff together. Loving it again 👍
Great route in that weather. My wife and I did the Beast of the Beacons in Wales on the same day and the weather was horrendous, glad we're not the only crazy ones!
I have this loop planned for my next trip to the Lakes in early November. But I will start at the southern point and go anti clockwise. I may bail out early and follow the lake for the last few miles if it is as boggy as it was for you! Thanks for your great content guys ❤
Thank you! It’s a lovely route but was indeed boggy when we did it. A total contrast to the Helvellyn ridge. Hope you have great weather and enjoy it 👍
@@TrailRunningCouple Montane make some nice jackets. I have the Featherlite and the Phase Lite both in Citrus Spring so I can be seen by the mad Dorset drivers. I think the Phase Lite is probably one of the best active waterproof jackets around.
Caps stayed in the van. Not a chance they would have survived that! It was indeed relentless with only the odd occasions where we got a break. They didn’t last long though. Quite the day really. Thanks for watching 👍
I love my G270's but they don't come out until the trails are dusty! Mudtalons are the biz. 😅 Another epic run guys, well done. Totally in awe of your efforts! 🙌
Just didn’t fancy X Talons over the Helvellyn ridge. When it gets really boggy even they don’t work so all in all I think the G270’s did an above average job 👍 Thanks for the comments, appreciate it 😊
Awesome epic running in that wind ! Well done team👏 nice campsite Castlerigg hall better than Castlerigg farm over the road ! But I expect more expensive 😂 Well done, always love to read and see your videos of the run, great views on this once despite the wind. As you say very boggy! Down here, the Quantocks and Mendips are just a mud fest at the moment !
Thanks Ian. After, Castlerigg Hall is a nicer site. We stayed at the Farm over the road last year which was still nice but this one is definitely next level. Ended up at £86 if I remember right for a 2 night fully serviced camper van pitch. A little more expensive than most we’ve been to but still ok. I can imagine what it’s like down there! Not sure anywhere escaped the weather. Hopefully we’ll get a decent dry spell soon.
Hats off to you for sticking with it. That must have been exhausting, and cold. Still in shorts I see. I noticed Cheryl had mud on her backside so she must have been blown over. You guys are tough. I enjoyed the video even if I couldn't hear you over the wind.
Thank you! It wasn’t really that cold to be honest but yes, definitely windy. Cheryl’s fall was in the first couple of miles coming over muddy fields. So slippy!
Thank you, definitely a tough day out. We film in 4K with a GoPro 10 and 11 and use LumaFusion on an iPad Pro. Seems give great results. Best of luck with your filming. They’re great memories to look back on. We’ve subscribed and will take a look at your channel 👍
That hail storm was a nice addition 😭💪💪 you two are hard core 💪
Haha, thank you. Kind of glad it was short lived though! Combined with the wind they were really painful!
This is proper hardcore. You two are awesome. Brilliant stuff 💪💪👍👍
Cheers Johnny, tough day out but loads of fun. Definitely challenging though 👍
Absolutely Amazing your machines that shot at16.38 coming down High Seat outstanding and well done another massive effort.❤💯💪
Thanks Trevor. Really enjoyed it, gets the heart pounding for sure 👍
Wow that was fierce. Well done!
It was indeed! Thank you ☺️

Thanks. Sounds a really interesting name for a race. Grabs your attention for sure. Nothing wrong with crazy 🤪 😂
Respect to you guys, that looked tough. It's just boggy everywhere ATM., Makes running hard!
Thanks. Seems like there’s no end to the rain. Boggy again this coming weekend I guess! 😂
Couldn't have picked a windier day for it. Think I can speak for everyone thanks for making this video in them conditions
Thanks Martin. Definitely windy but really enjoyed it 😊

Thank you for the video. My knees were hurting just watching you run in that cold wind :) You are a tough lot, up there 👍
Thank you, temperature wasn’t too bad to be fair. Our jackets definitely kept us warm and protected. Great day out 👍

Definitely. We started in Featherlites and put Phase Nanos over the top. Not even Storm Kathleen could breach that!
Hats off to you both (glad they didn't blow off!). I've been in some crazy winds in my backpacking days but that looked relentless!

It was so windy even the RUclips subtitles could'nt hear you! 🙂 Great video as usual, well done!
Haha, I’d be surprised if the RUclips subtitles understood us anyway 😂 Thank you, appreciate it 👍
Impressive work 😅glad you kept hold of the go pro 🙌 I’ve not been in wind like it yesterday that just reminded me how strong it was. 😊
Quite something isn’t it?!
It just becomes a challenge at that point but we had a good idea of places to bail out should we have needed to 👍
Holy moly 😲,that was a bit exciting this week!!!!
We loved it! Definitely our kind of challenge. Thank you ☺️
Well done guys, tremendous effort,I know what it's like to be on the hills in that weather.🏃🏃
Sheer madness isn’t it? 😂
Really invigorating though. Enjoyed it 👍
Another nice route on a very tough day . Kudos for persevering 😮😊
Cheers Mike. Good mental training as well as physical 👍

Ya both as mad as a bag of frogs - but seriously i enjoyed watching you from the comfort of my sofa - brutal but fun thanks for sharing it with us
Haha thank you 😂

Wow, that wind looked a battle! Good effort 👍 and good video! We are just starting out making trail running videos. What editing software do you use?
