You do not need to be "mixed" race to be Latina. You can have 100% African DNA and still be Latina. You know why? Because being latina means you are from a country in Latin America. That's it. It tells nothing about genetics. There's actually a group of people in Latin America that are almost completely African, they're called Garifunas and yes they too are Latinos.

Im so use to hearing a spanish/west indian accent lol I was kind of expecting to hear one in this video. What part of Panama is your family from? Great video btw 😊
Emmia B Yup, there are lots of black Panamanians. Same background like my family. Lots of Panamanians have a West Indian accent since West Indians were brought in to help build the canal. I was just expecting to hear an accent but not everyone has it. It makes sense since her mom only lived there til she was 9. My mom lived there til she was in her 30s and her accent is starting to fade a little now too 😊
