I often get asked “where have you been?” and “how did you learn to travel?”. So I’ve decided to make a video summarizing the bulk of my travel during my 3 years abroad. It’s a longer video than I normally do but summarizing 13 countries and 3 years of highs and lows is much harder than I thought.
What’s your travel story?

Honestly love this video for many reasons. People think going abroad is all laughs but it takes time to not be lonely even with people around. Idk how to explain it, I think you'll only know when you actually travel places alone. You realize that your own company can be lonely BUT because you don't want to be lonely in other country, you just throw yourself out there and it begins to get better. Then you realize you can have a ton of fun by yourself because you put yourself in vulnerable situation to meet people and have to adjust to the cultures to have a better experience.
taytay's travels sis! This is the nail. You hit it on the head lol. Traveling abroad solo is cool - to an extent imo. After a year, without a close friend + language barriers trying to build friendships, trying to explain racial tensions and the stress I felt to foreign friends who don't even understand race issues. Man, it was A LOT! In that respect, korea was way better!
This was beautiful. I feel you when you talked about being surrounded by beauty but having no one to share it with. Man, I swear solo travel can be so bittersweet.
+v0calbeatzlaughs soooooo bittersweet😭😭😭
I'm super interested in hearing more about your feelings on traveling solo. It's an interesting perspective to me as I have never truly traveled alone. I would like to at least once in my life... but part of me wonders if I would be able to enjoy it fully. 🙁
SkinnyGirlFatHair I've traveled solo a few times in my life. I think it's something everyone should do once.
Thank you so much for your honesty in your vids! So happy I found your channel. I'm planning on moving abroad next year for two reasons I love to travel and this is my season to live else where, and I have no idea what to do with my life - so I'll take the time to find out what I want to do.
fairlyagile I'm so happy you found me too! I have the next few weeks of travel planned-- one will be about moving abroad to get away and what I've learned as a result. Tentative date Oct. 18
I recently moved to Spain and I understand about the loneliness. I was telling my family back home in the U.S. how lonely it is sometimes. I've only been here for three months so far.
Misra Derya i currently live in Madrid. When I first arrived I lived in Barcelona, but I like Madrid much better. The people are nicer and are much more willing to help you with your Spanish if you are learning. When I first got here I couldn't speak Spanish at all. I can now, but it was easier once I got to Madrid. The only thing I miss about Barcelona are the beaches.
Kai Cesaire so I actually hated Madrid, I found them some of the coldest people in Spain and the city takes a while to really get a feel for. STICK WITH IT! Worst case scenario, you spend 10 months and realize it's not for you. But I'm a big supporter of continuing and working through things until it becomes toxic to your well being.
Try intercambios, fb groups. Once you find a support group everything else will be easier!
SomewhereAlways haha ah man I felt that way about Barcelona lol. Many people wouldn't even speak Spanish to me because they wanted to speak Catalan. I did end up making friends in Madrid, but they were from Argentina and we hung out every other day. I met them at an intercambio, but they all moved back to Argentina last week so I was sooo sad and that loneliness set in. I have met other Americans, but I try to avoid them because they only want to speak English and I end up feeling like I should have just stayed in the U.S. but I'll give it time and see what happens. I also made a close friend in Barcelona. I lived with her for my first month and she spoke 5 languages, but English wasn't one of them... She helped get me started on being comfortable speaking Spanish because I was afraid to speak it originally. We still talk and she wants me to move back to Barcelona, but..... My experience there in general wasn't all that great lol. Thanks for the tips too I'll be looking up stuff on Facebook. This is m first time in Europe so I'm taking things one step at a time ( or trying to) lol.
I'm new to your channel but you're one of my favorite travel/life/vlog youtubers hahaha you're hilarious I love all your videos
"the landlord was crazy" say word!!!! hahaha had so many good times with you!
Omg. “All y’all bytches went to hell, sorry I’m saved!!!!” 🤣😂
+Gajah HutchersUn lol! I'm saying #shrug
Woooahhh i do the orange soda thing too!! I was in Malaga last week, for some reason I loved the orange soda in Spain
Kate Ray omggggggg Spain orange soda is the best!!!!
Por favor, make a video about how you paid for all your travels!!
amna that's coming SOON! (Most likely in 2 weeks, but definitely in October)
That's awesome! Did you save a lot of money in Korea?
Kamilah Douglas not as much as I originally hoped.. but a decent amount. Traveling + paying bills sucked away some of that savings
Great Video. Now that you are in the states, do you want to go back live oversea's again.
+SweetieTy15 to live? Eventually. Not right now. To visit, OMG YESSSSS!!
I wish
Spain looks very beautiful. I can't even...😩❤❤
+Paris Alford it is! You should go!
SomewhereAlways maybe when I'm older. I'm only a teen, do you like Korea the most?
Paris Alford oh no! Cover your ears I think I swore hahaa! The most out of the places I lived or all the places I traveled?
SomewhereAlways out of all your travels.
Paris Alford oh nooo. Not even close. Vietnam is the best, then Istanbul. Then Spain.
My question is what did uou learn from all ur travels?
+Ashley Jones too much to type. I'll definitely make a video about this. One major thing, people of other cultures/backgrounds are as different as you think they are and more similar than you can imagine.
Busan Mak-Gul-Ly wow
and what about netherlands maaaaan remember that lmaoooo
+noor elhajjaji omg shhhhh!!! That was the worst trip 😂😂. I should've just stayed in Belgium with you!
