Thank you for explaining the beneficial effects of allowing the growth of Mountain Cedars in the Texas Hill Country. I have always enjoyed the refreshing aroma of these plants and the breaks they create across the terrain.

We do too - although the winter pollen and resulting "cedar fever" is a bit harder to love! 😅

Growing up in Texas , central Texas adjacent, i always heard the farmers and ranchers discussing cedars . Primarily their habit of overwhelming a property and limiting grasses and wildflowers/ wildlife very quickly. There was very little discussion of ground water that i can remember. Its so important for us to have this discussion together and to understand how everything works together to make a healthier environment as land stewards .

Would it hurt to trim all the dead lower branches on cedar trees/bushes?
