I was wondering what happened
There are spots where the music is louder than you talking. Is that because of the copyright stuff you had to adjust?
Range rovers have diesel heaters too.. could be worth looing on ebay of breaker yards for a few and get the controller too... ??
The fuel pump needs relocating and maybe use a bit of an old inner tube as a sock zip tied to keep dirt free

I watch a lot of van lifers and most of them when fitting the fuel pump on their diesel heaters they put it at 45 degree angle as that's what it says to do in the instructions Hope you get it running to see you through the rest of winter .Keep the videos coming and keep me laughing

The diesel pump is very expose to the elements maybe you can works to isolate the diesel pump in a plastic box with isolate foam and cut foam to the same shape to the pump to protect to low temp and to get to silencer a little the click, even the box you can put some screws to the chassi to get a good position and put some isolate the line of fuel to get more eficient work to the pump and the pump have more life.
Maybe the fuel or the pump recive low temp and that produce damage to long time.
Consider fix that things and you know how the pump have more life and eficient works.

I saw on a channel named Gonagain they put a little propane heater in their utility trailer. It isn't a buddy heater. It vents the moisture outside. It's about the cost of those cheap diesel heaters. I'm thinking of getting one. People always seem to be working on their diesel heaters.

I agree with everyone saying you need eye shields under the van and gloves to protect your hands, especially that nail 😧 I hope that grows back without you having to see a doctor.

Great job on the fix. Just some advice on the pump. It likes to be on a 45° angle so that any air that comes through can escape to the burn chamber. If the air gets trapped in the pump laying flat like yours it can cause premature failure. Keep up the great work.
Amber, in the future it will be easier if you clamp you diesel inline before you remove it.
Would that reduce the mess she was talking about? What is the right tool to clamp it with? 🙂
Yes, crimping the fuel line would stop the flow of diesel from spilling out everywhere. The correct tool could be anything that would pinch the line and stop the fuel from leaking every where. She could use a hemostat or fold the line and use a paper clip. Right now it's cold and the line may break if it is folded over. One of those black folding paper clips would work and are cheap.

Hey. My dad is a retired 18-wheeler driver. He drove for about 2 years. And in the course of learning how to drive this vehicle, the instructor always told him to make sure that they clean the fuel filter every 6 months. Because, diesel is a very dirty fuel. He thinks that you need to put a fuel filter just before the small engine of your fuel heating. Because you need to treat it like a small engine. This should solve some of your issues concerning your fuel and heating system.

With all the issues, it seems like the Mr.Buddy heater would do a lot better
Mr Buddy is good in a pinch, but for long term it can’t keep up with the cold of this climate, and also it tends to make the air clammy moist.
