    My suggestion would be to drop your rock on a tarp so you can dump it back in the water. Those sweet little mossy banks would appreciate it. Cool video!

      I immediately wanted to immerse myself in that living paradise - the lush overhead canopy, massive ferns, mossy banks, and the life-giving flow of the creek. Such beauty borders on the surreal, even without the natural treasures hidden from sight.
      I can almost feel the coolness of the water on my skin and smell the fresh rainforest scents. I yearn for the peace to be found in such utopian places as this.

    Interesting stuff. My father used to head out to Sapphire/Rubyvale/Anakie way to fossick years ago. I ended up with hundreds of point-size gems but have never had the heart to part with them. Got no idea what they're worth but there's about half a kilo of stones of different colours in the collection. They're all anywhere from 2mm to 4mm across. Yellows, Blues, some red stones and some tiny Stars. I should get them valued one day...

    I call the far North Queensland tropical rainforest 'Home'. However, the Tasmanian Temperate rainforests are absolutely stunning. I can't do cold weather so I doubt I'll ever get down there to experience it myself, so videos like this allow me to enjoy it without my toes freezing off.

    This is such a beautiful location and your drone shots did it such justice. Great placement from the river as well and getting different perspectives with your gloves to show scale. I live in an area with geography like this, but much colder and no real precious stones in the area. We search for agates and chalcedony, quartz and maybe jasper or jade if we are lucky enough to find any of decent quality, so videos like this are a real treat. I cant afford to visit these other places, but just knowing that other people are experiencing that magic of discovery and geological history is such a great feeling. Especially when it is shot professionally in good weather and settings haha. Only thing i would change is maybe switch the music more often or lower the volume altogether letting the ambient noises take the stage. They can be very soothing out there and double as ASMR videos and give you a whole new demographic of viewers. Wishing you all the success and luck finding the best specimens in your future adventures! Stay safe out there :)

    Hey there - I just love to watch the beauty of the Country you live in - *hammergeil.. by looking at the plants I always wart for a dinosaur coming arround the corner 😂
    Now a more „economical“ question:
    In comparison to the gold you have found - what are these stones worth after Treatment/ cutting/ polishing?
    Cheers and greetings from germany-bavaria 😊

    • @Rob.Parsons
      @Rob.Parsons  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the great comment. It certainly does look Jurassic. That’s because these plants are ancient! As for the stones, it all depends on the clarity size ect. But rule of thumb is $1000 for a 1 carat sapphire that’s nice colour, clean and cut. Smaller stones are more common so are less than $1000 carat. But big stones are more rare and are worth more than $1000 carat. I think that’s how it works anyway I wouldn’t really know I haven’t ever sold anything.
