My husband and I weathered a heartbreaking separation; we were only six weeks from finalizing our divorce, when we worked it all out. We renewed our wedding vows, having been married 20 years at that point, and this was part of our ceremony with our five year old daughter as a flower girl. It will always be 'our song' and in two years, we'll renew again for our 40th.
My husband and I were supposed to get divorced in February. The day before I went to the courthouse and told them I’d changed my mind. That weekend we all went bowling, I was sitting at the scorers table, and one of the ladies sat down next to me and asked me to teach her how to score. That irony was not lost on me. I asked her on a date. On our first date we spent all day getting to know each other, and that night I asked her to marry me. She said yes. I had been praying for the woman God had for me for 10 years, I knew she was the one. Nearly 31 years later I still know she is the one. I adore her. I dedicated this song to my wife after a terrible miscarriage this past year. In 2012 she lost her right ovary and right tube to PCOS. We got married in 2013, after 10 years of her getting her health on track and trying to conceive we were excited to see the positive test Feb 2023. That's when everything went south, she started bleeding consistently and the doctors said the tests still show that there is a baby, by March she was even worse and rushed to the ER, they found out it was tubular and that she also had a cyst on her tube that created a hole in her tube, the baby was blocking the hole which saved her life, but when she moved wrong it would leak. The baby had to be aborted and the tube removed, she was so upset thinking I wouldn't stay with her, but I played this song and told her I wasn't lying when I said through sickness and in health. We are looking into in vitro as an option later down the road

I lost my forever after 30 years. This was our song. I can't hear it without crying, but we were the ones that found out what forever means. I am the luckiest person in the world. I miss him so but I had him for 30 years and so many people never get struck by that lightning and become one thing together. Time will help your pain. I didn't die and I was surprised so now I just have fun like he'd want. It's all gravy now. I won at this life stuff. As my baby would say, silken it like a fat rat.

This song reminds me of how great country music was from the late 90s to early 2000s, from the songwriting to the performers/entertainers and music videos. I call it the 2nd golden age of country music with no disrespect to the original golden age of country music.

I concur with that statement. This age of country has to be my favorite for mainstream country music. With the exception of new artists like Chris Stapleton, Aaron Lewis, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, and Billy Strings just to name a few, there aren't many good artists in country music anymore. Thank Almighty God that there are still some good music from the 1900s-2000s around on RUclips! Including music by gentlemen such as Clint Black. Definitely up there with Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson, and Vince Gill in my humble opinion.
I call it the Garth Brooks Era! I am a rock guy but this era made me love Country Music! There were so many great artist at the time! And, I have to say Clint Black was my favorite! Pure class this guy!!

Wife passed away in 2011 on the same day of my fathers birthday and was blessed having her for the time the lord gave her to me. Now 69 and have the two Chihuahua Sisters she bought the day before she died from alcohol consumption. Still love her and never removed my ring from my left finger. Went in for cancer treatment and they said you cannot have jewelry on you , and my response was " This is not jewelry , but a bond to my wife that has passed". Nurse attendant understood my faith in the Lord and took tape to secure it to my left hand , smiled at me and said " you are blessed by your love". Still feel she was an angel .

My mom & dad were married for 62 years, There were some rough, and difficult times for sure. I do not remember my dad being sad about anything when I was growing up. I heard my mom cry, but I never heard, or saw my dad cry. My mom went to heaven at the age of 84 years. After mom went to heaven, I heard my dad crying, and I saw his tears. I saw a very deep sadness in his face, behavior, and attitude. I could hear sadness in his voice.. This was the saddest time in my life. My parents married at the age of 22 years. My dad is 90 years old now, and he looks like he might be in his early 70s. My mom looked much younger than her age. She told me she felt like 20 years old when she was in her late 70s. People would say that we looked like sisters. My dad never went to church while I was growing up. After my mom went to heaven, my dad started going to church. Now he tells me "mom comes around". I knew what he meant. I said the same thing when my boyfriend of 2o years went to heaven. I told my dad "my boyfriend comes around". My dad said that cannot be true. Some of Clint Blacks songs make me cry whenever I listen to them. This song (When I Said I Do), and the images are so beautiful. I hope that by listening to this music today, the tears flow as freely as they always do. I hope when I go to the Clint Black concert next month in West Virginia, I can get through most of the music without crying.

Danced to this at our wedding reception..June 11th 2016. We have been together since 8th grade, 11 years this year. I thank god every day for bringing us together. She stuck by my side through so much. Through 2 failed back surgeries, through crippling depression from it. Every step of the way she was right there helping push me. It says exactly what we felt and how I still feel to this day. I tell myself that my heart is open to whatever may come for the remainder of my time here, but I'm really just looking forward to meeting up with my Jer and continue to live these vows in the ever after.

I concur with that statement. This age of country has to be my favorite for mainstream country music. With the exception of new artists like Chris Stapleton, Aaron Lewis, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, and Billy Strings just to name a few, there aren't many good artists in country music anymore. Thank Almighty God that there are still some good music from the 1900s-2000s around on RUclips! Including music by gentlemen such as Clint Black. Definitely up there with Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson, and Vince Gill in my humble opinion.

My mom & dad were married for 62 years, There were some rough, and difficult times for sure. I do not remember my dad being sad about anything when I was growing up. I heard my mom cry, but I never heard, or saw my dad cry. My mom went to heaven at the age of 84 years. After mom went to heaven, I heard my dad crying, and I saw his tears. I saw a very deep sadness in his face, behavior, and attitude. I could hear sadness in his voice.. This was the saddest time in my life. My parents married at the age of 22 years.
My dad is 90 years old now, and he looks like he might be in his early 70s. My mom looked much younger than her age. She told me she felt like 20 years old when she was in her late 70s. People would say that we looked like sisters. My dad never went to church while I was growing up. After my mom went to heaven, my dad started going to church. Now he tells me "mom comes around". I knew what he meant. I said the same thing when my boyfriend of 2o years went to heaven. I told my dad "my boyfriend comes around". My dad said that cannot be true.
Some of Clint Blacks songs make me cry whenever I listen to them. This song (When I Said I Do), and the images are so beautiful. I hope that by listening to this music today, the tears flow as freely as they always do. I hope when I go to the Clint Black concert next month in West Virginia, I can get through most of the music without crying.

Danced to this at our wedding reception..June 11th 2016. We have been together since 8th grade, 11 years this year. I thank god every day for bringing us together. My husband and I danced our first dance to this song at our wedding reception. He passed away May 9th 2022.We would have celebrated our 14th anniversary in September. Today is his Birthday. I am trying so hard to keep it together for our little boy .If you are blessed to have your spouse with you love them like there is no tomorrow. I had the honor of caring for my husband as he battled pancreatic cancer.I do truly look at it as a honor. Not every day was a good day or easy day but I am so glad I was able to care for him. WE told each other every day that we loved the other. I can't tell you how many times in the last months,weeks,days,hours and minutes we told each other that we loved one another.I wish I could hear him say it one more time.

This is my father and mother's dance song from their wedding. It was a moment that made me cry harder than I ever have. I remember seeing that beautiful moment where they met eyes and they tuned out every single thing except the music. As a teenager witnessing my mother marrying a man who raised her children as his own? My father, was a stepfather. But he was more. He was my Dad. He loved my mother endlessly. And he did end up loving all of us, he still does. For the end of all time. 🫶🏻

This song came out after my Jer and I were married. It became 'our' song for the 25 years we were blessed to be together. He went on ahead, and I played this at his celebration of life. It says exactly what we felt and how I still feel to this day. I tell myself that my heart is open to whatever may come for the remainder of my time here, but I'm really just looking forward to meeting up with my Jer and continue to live these vows in the ever after.
