I have the core mini purifier and once I turn it on and the on light and blower light chosen is on a minute or so the lights go out. I have a larger one and the lights stay on all the time it is running! Are the lights to stay on the mini one when in operating mode?

Bought this from Target two months ago. Set up properly in an ultra small studio apartment (10 x 10 ft). Set on high (III). It doesn't work at all (yes, I unbagged the filter). The area is covered in dust, smells of sweat and the filter looks untouched (again, yes, I unbagged it). Looking at other Levoit products on multiple "review" channels, I can see clearly that they're not scientifically tested and basically appear to be useless. Instead of an air-tight fan-pull system, these are nothing more than low-powered fans placed above a filter. They are not air tight and nor are the filters directly over the fan, they're loosely placed around the intake. So the devices would not qualify as air purifiers per EU standards; the EPA in the States doesn't have a legal set of standards for air purifiers. In my own tests, after much frustration, I tried human hair, pet dander, colored smoke and collected dust. The filter didn't catch even 1% of the material blown directly into the intake.

It says on theier website that it covers 178 sq ft, not limited to 71 as in the description here. It's also 25-44db loud, depending on which setting.

If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

Wondering when levoit is going to come out with a car air purifier. I wish they had one.
I don’t have this mini unit but do have three of their core 300 air purifiers and am sold on their products.. although I did have a minor issue with a small squealing noise in one unit after a couple years. Still, not bad. comes and goes - it only happens now and then.
We keep one in the basement where we burn firewood in the winters. Makes a huge difference in minimizing smoke smells, and is less musty in summers. We’re breathing easier with these around the house.
If you’re on the fence I’d say go for it. It’s a good brand.
Oh yeah, if you vacuum the filter every so often it lasts quite a bit longer.
