If ur shade was fashion, it would be at the luxury level.
You are the queen of shade. Your shade is so nonchalant and unassuming, it can go unnoticed if one isn't paying attention. 😂😂😂
I agree with every bit of what you said in this video. Your regimen is super simple. No frills. No L.O.C. Coco lmao. 😆 I think some people get so caught up in doing all these complicated things that are so unnecessary!
Haha, thanks girl!
i like your color hair
nappyheadedjojoba Loving this video! I know I'm late but I decided this week to really start putting my ends away (Im a braid out junkie) and I see your having a challenge! My hair has been 10 to 12 inches forever, started with 4inches of hair and through improper care I have only retained 6-8inches in 4 friggin years! I'm determined to change all that now since for the past 1yr and half the only thing I haven't done is put my ends away for a long enough time! Awesome ch! new subbie!🖒😄
I love how you are unapologetically "you".👊🏽 This video was sooo good on so many levels. Some people have long hair, but are not really able to articulate the true essence of how or why they got there. Then let's be real, some people get lucky, or some have hair that will thrive no matter what is done to it. This video was confirmation and motivation. I've always thought there was such a maturity and wisdom to you when you talk about hair....it all makes sense now! You've been in the game for life! Ps. Your vocabulary is off the chain honey👏🏽. Much love ❤️
Aww, thanks girl! I get so giddy when I see you pop up in the comments section.
nappyheadedjojoba Aw, You've been on a roll with videos lately🤗

Welcome to the fam!
I did too, for the same reason! LOL
That's exactly why I subscribed. lol

I think it is really sad that in 2017 some people still doubt you or dismiss 4C hair can grow long and healthy . The youtubers will feel the need to come with damp shrunken hair to prove it on camera . You can clearly tell it is 4C yet some people will say "nope this is 4b because c is not curly"😐🤔 4c is curly hair too and yes it you have to manipulate it for them curls to pop up but we do have curls and it can grow long! A lot of people really need to let it go.
Preach
Ossouko 3 ikr
Ossouko 3 4c hair is not curly lol
There's always that one person that can't read. Yes, 4c hair is curly just like the original commenter said. It's really annoying that people refuse to do their research and instead choose to label 4c hair as one thing when it is in fact curly and everyone's 4c is very different. Out of all the people that live on this planet, everyone thinks there's only a select few hair types, lmao.
Chantabalay I can read actually, I did read it lmao. If you have to do everything in your power just for some curls you probably don't have curly hair 🤷🏾♀️ I guess if that was the case all hair types are curly because with enough effort you can make any of them curl. And I didn't say it as a bad thing lol it is what it is.
Twist outs, braid puts, pony tails are not protecting our ends!!! You are like the only person to make that clear!! Thanks@nappyheadefjojoba #Preach
"Trimming your hair with the phases of the moon"
I DIED😂😂😂😂😂
Lol, people actually do that! It's called the Morrocco Method. Some guy who calls himself The Hair Shaman invented it, based on the Mayan lunar calendar. To each their own, I guess.
are you serious i definitely thought she was joking
Jennifer McKanna this made my night😭.🌞🌝🌚
I'm from the Caribbean...my grandmother swore by cutting your hair at new moon. Something to do with gravitational pull of the moon.
I was taught that by my grandmother too and I still do it.
Heard about you through my girl Living with Osa.....Great Tips alot of which I practice!! Thanks for sharing hun!!!
Hey NappyFu! Been watching you (and Osa) since forever! Thanks so much for the kind words!
NappyFu TV HIIIIIIIIIII💜👑💜👑💜👑💜👑💜👑💜👑
Love you Fu
So you don't use deep conditioner nor oils in your hair? What do you use in your hair? And what is your hair routine? I'm not saying that you need to make us fallow it and we need to fallow it? But I've been searching for a good video about hair and read studies, but damn I don't know what to believe nor who to believe.
Your command of the English language is impeccable.
I love when you curse. You speak so eloquently which makes me respect what you're saying and its easy listening. When you drop a curse word it reminds me of real you keep it. MORE RESPECT!! You're not blowing smoke up our Asses. Thanks for another awesome video 😚😂 You are funny as hell with it too. Thanks for the tips
Such kind words-- thank you!
Honestly, if leaving your hair alone ain't the best advice ever. I used always play in more trying stuff out and wonder why my hair kept breaking. I just keep my hair in crochet braids now, sometimes sew ins and my hair has been flourishing. You gained a new subscriber here.
How often do you read books because your vocabulary is #BOMB 💥
Thanks! I can't even recall the last book I read, which is shameful. But, I would read constantly, when I was younger. I miss it! I just need to make time for it again.
That's awesome! You're such an inspiration!
NaTuRo90
I agree with you about her vocab....not trying to be mean, but a lot of people just don't sound that intelligent; not sure why so many try to sound otherwise......she commands attention and sounds confident
I was thinking the same thing! I was thinking Books or a good Communication class
she's just extremely well-spoken and intelligent lol

Yes!!! I used to depend on hairstylist to do my hair and would literally be lost if they canceled my appointment. But now, thanks to YT, I'm able to care for and maintain my own hair. I had to learn that i couldn't mimic the routines and waste my money trying to buy every product I saw in the video. My hair still isn't the longest it's ever been (pretty close to it) But it is the healthiest it's ever been. Love the video!
That's great to hear! Thanks!
I will no longer deep condition for more than 30 minutes to an hour. I actually dreaded doing it because I thought the longer you keep it in the better. Thank you!
You sound incredibly intelligent. Your speech pattern and flow
I'm watching this in November 2019 and I agree with everything you say in this video, sis. We are a reflection of each other 🙂 Over are the days of tight braids, heavy hair, long hours in front of the mirror...no more.
I listen to my scalp and hair and if it doesn't like what I'm doing, I stop. Now I know why I often suffered from headaches over a decade ago because there was too much weight and tension on my head😓🙄😒. I'm so grateful it put up with my nonsense during all those years and I still have hair on my head, lol 😂 My hair has improved over a few years now by becoming thicker, stronger, more manageable and longer.
Like you said, it's more about how the hair is managed than the products being used. A person can be using the best product and at the same time be damaging their hair because of their manipulation of it. I've narrowed down to what products work for me and stay consistent. I only use one type of shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and an edge control. I use to try many different products and soon realized it was part of why my hair would break. I live by "simplicity is more" , as my science teacher and mentor, Dr. Nartey often emphasizes.
this woman has such a cool personality
I had to follow you b/c your vocabulary is on point 🤗
jfresh791 yes! I love her vocabulary. It's refreshing to see someone so well spoken.
My first language is Spanish and as I saw her speak English so well (Even tho I watch a lot of English speakers) I decided to follow her because it captivated me.
Because she rich.
Facts! I started braiding and twisting my own hair because I. TRUST. NO. ONE. with my hair. Neat or not, I'm doing it myself.
I love how real you are. It's refreshing.
you speak so eloquently. I learned a lot from this video. I am still struggling to care for both mine and my daughter's hair.
Damn, our hair journey is eerily similar! From being natural since day 1, our parents never allowing perms, being tirelessly taunted at school for not chemically straightening it, my sisters and I lived in cornrows during our childhood too! My mom and grandmother would rip through our hair so we never retained length! And because of RUclips I changed the way I treated my hair and that's when it began to flourish! 😂😂😫😫😫I used to trim my hair with the phases of the moon thinking it would help it grow! 😑 I'm sure I read it somewhere lol
but whats the point of having 25+ inches of beautiful hair if you never even wear it out or enjoy it... people are always under the assumption that the only way type 4 hair can be maintained is by protective styling.. which is not true... where does the pride come in at if you still wear a wig 24/7 ...
You're using pretty definite terms like "never," "always," "only," and "24/7." Keeping it in a stretched state and/or tucked into styles that keep the strands away from excessive manipulation and harsh weather conditions preserves length. Breaks between protective styling are recommended, also. Hair is beautiful when it's healthy, and one who is taking precautions that they feel are abetting their hair's health sounds prideful to me.
tiadeni thanks for your opinion but my comment was not for you, clearly you took what you wanted from the comment and definitely missed the point.. have a nice day
"where does the pride come in at if you still wear a wig 24/7 ..." As I state in the video, I wear buns, various updo styles, twists, braids, headwraps, the odd braidout or twistout, and yes, wigs. I wear wigs around 0-5 days in a typical month, depending on my mood, so as far as wearing wigs "24/7," I guess you're talking about someone else. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with people who do choose to wear wigs daily, as their protective style of choice. It's a great option.
Not everyone defines enjoying his or her hair by wearing it down/out. Keeping my hair in protective styles is the way that *I* can best maintain *my* hair, which I also stated in the video. Frankly, wearing my hair down isn't usually worth the hassle to me, because my texture is so prone to tangles and breakage.
Akeya Johnson now tell her that because she said the same thing and with greater emphasis on personal preference.
nappyheadedjojoba i get it and i can definitely respect your response... I just kind of followed you because of the natural videos and i noticed lately that we arent seeing your natural hair much at all... Im 4b-4c so trust me i know how the struggle can be but i just think sometimes people use the "protective style excuse" to hide their natural hair... But no disrespect by the comment just a honest question/opinion
You're so articulate! Teach me your ways 😢
Uwaye Inneh .....It's called an "education!" It FREE in AMERICA!
Read mad books
Reading out loud for at least 20 minutes every day is the best way to do it. Make it a priority. Also, if you can, join a Toast Masters club, you will learn public speaking skills.
Rebeca Mercedes if one reads out loud and still doesn’t sound articulate? 🙏🏿
What can you do then?
Black women that sound amazing, Gabrielle Union, Candace Owens, Kristolyn Lloyd, Robin Givens, Oprah, Cynne Simpson, Jummy Olabanji, Franchesca Ramsey, Meagan Good and Gayle King. Etc....
Fasting Accelerator I suggest searching for articulation & diction videos online, you can learn the exercises actors and singers learn, and practice, practice, practice!
It’s a process, so be patient with yourself and don’t give up.
I honestly don’t really hear much shade in this channel. What I hear is honesty and personal truth, plus grammatically correct sentences. Go, girl!
(Obviously I am rewatching this video and left a second comment.)
I died when you said the kids use to sing the justforme jingle.😂 it brought me back to my memories of my peers taunting me with: you still get press perms*
(hot comb).💥😱
Tibbici Barbes I LOVE THAT JINGLE😂😂
For the record this is the first time I've watched a video of yours and I absolutely love the way you speak! I actually looked up a word I didn't know :-)
Yesssss African Export...at least she gave us Hawaiin Silky.
Kymeish Gaston I love Lester's S Curl "No Drip" Curl Activator Moisturizer...really simple 😂😂😂😂
Finally. A hair care info video that isn’t “trying to be cute for the sake of likability hits” I appreciate your honesty, straight forwardness, and logical if not more scientific approach to natural hair care. It’s not only refreshing but practical.
"L-O-C-O-C-O-C-O-C-O-B-O-C-O method." I'm dead! Your videos are the best! I agree with what you said 100%. Finding out what your own hair needs and sticking to a routine that gives you optimal results is the only way to go.
Even though I'm joking, I bet there's someone out there doing the LOCOCOCOCBOCO method right now!
This video is so goooooood and honest! Thank Goodness for that😄
The problem with your 1st point is in order to find a routine/system that works for you usually starts with you trying someone else's system and see if that works for you--it's almost impossible not to do this in your first year of being natural especially if you don't know how to handle natural hair (meeeeeeeee). But eventually like you said you get a routine that means you don't need many products or many steps! But thanks for all the tips!!! Great video!
I felt like she needed to end her disclaimer: "I am grown; I will talk the the way I want to talk" with "Bitches" at the end 🙌
And I too miss African Export.
New subbie.
This might be a really weird compliment; But your way of speaking is so incredibly amazing! You should really concider becoming a writer/author etc, you choose your words so wisely!
Thank you! I actually am a writer, haha. Thanks again!
Omg I don't see how someone can get on you about cursing when you speak so well, so educated, you articulate and annunciate your words and I love it 😍
Thank you!
Loved all the tips in the video! I recently went to get my hair flat ironed and trimmed and got about 5inches cut. The problem I have every time it gets straightened is the last 4/5 inches are so dry. I deep condition, trim, moisturize, protective style, etc. Have you or anyone reading this experienced the same thing. I know you don't heat style, so probably not you. Either way, thanks for always giving real and practical hair advice.
How interesting. I haven't flat ironed, but it's possible I might make the same unfortunate discovery, if I did! Especially since it sounds like you're taking good care of your hair. I imagine there's some disconnect in your routine that might be accelerating the weathering of your ends, but I'm not sure what it might me. Or, it could just be the flat iron is too hot for your ends (possibly paired with an ineffective heat protectant?), since they'll have less of the cuticle layer intact, from being older than the rest of your hair. I dunno. The wheels are turning in my mind!
Girl you are soooo right about not trusting anyone with my hair. I got my hair done because I was traveling. I hadn't had anyone touch my hair in years...when I took the braids down, my edges were trash, my hair was lifeless. (She pulled a lot in the process and didn't take time with the tangles.) And yes I did take care of my scalp during the time I had my braids in. My trust issues were reconfirmed and now I'm back to not letting anyone touch my hair for any reason.
Okay, that's it! Second video and you're my new FAVORITE RUclipsr. I may not have the same texture or philosophy as you (I'm strictly wash and go due to laziness), but I don't care. I like your vibe and your wit. You go Glen Coco!
Laziness can take many forms, haha. I'm too lazy to wash n' go, because it means *more* work, with my texture. So interesting how unique each head of afro-textured hair is!
she reminds me of moniece from love and hip hop
Shaniel Walker yes!!!
Shaniel Walker on god lol
😂😂😂 she does w/the straight face
YES! Moneice could read a chick real fast in the best way
Yes
So, now I'm trying to understand why I never found your swearing offensive. Typically, I'm like "say what, why" next unfollow. You... not so much... hmmm maybe because it doesn't seem forced. Yep, that's probably it.
you're right, maybe that's why i didn't notice too
I'm not offended by cussing, in general, but she's quite eloquent in her speech so it's not even noticeable when she does it. If she were to "uh..." and "um..." a lot and seem disorganized in her thoughts, I think it'd be more noticeable.
Cee Major Agree!!!!!
Number 16 can i get an AMEN!!!! Shoutouts to all my #TeamLazy ladies who find low manipulation a walk in the part just because aint nobody got time for that lol
I love how you are just being yourself in your videos and not letting anyone tell you wat you should do or say! Keep posting hunny
The way you talk reminds me of Moniece Slaughter from LHH lol i love it!
God damn your realness, wit, and adult sense of humor is so refreshing. Get kinda tired of the "I'm pretty and saved" hair videos. Thank you for being you.
I love the way you talk! You are dope, secure, and you seem to know it. You sound educated which I love, so the random cursing makes me laugh. Seems like you're real and down to earth. Haha, I could listen to you all the time
Thank you so much!
stay your authentic self!
Yeah I usually ACV rinses/scalp massage and sometimes soap, but cowashing for me would benefit the hair rather than the scalp. As shampoo= cleansing for scalp/ Conditioner = Softens hair, reintroduces moisture, seals etc, (and may contain gentle cleansing agents). However, ACV is also great for the hair, and I've been using it on both my hair and scalp.
I appreciate this video and I agree abt the regurgitation of Natural Hair length retention and growth videos.
would you do an updated Dental care video. Like oil pulling and the tooth powder from previous videos? :)
Totally agree, re: shampoo being primarily for the scalp. Indeed, that was the main reason I switched back, because I like my scalp to be clean and fresh, since it's sort of like the soil for the hair that will sprout from it!
My dental care routine is almost exactly the same, still, although I switched back to a commercial mouthwash, because the DIY one was leaving a weird buildup on my teeth. Even my dentist asked what I was doing differently. Not sure what you mean by tooth powder? I've never tried one.
nappyheadedjojoba Ah, OK perfect! I thought I remembered you talking abt a product for your teeth and the instructions saying to dip the brush inside the little container. Maybe I'm dreaming 💀
JaiProdz Oooh, yeah, that's the tooth paste that I use. It is in a jar, but it's a...mud? Haha, it's a clay-based tooth paste/tooth polish.
Omg. Best tip, don't let anyone else do your hair. I went to a salon for the first time and the lady put a comb straight at my roots and tried to pull up. The snapping. Never again.
my hair just breaks if i look at it
Whoop! I'm always so excited to see that you've uploaded a video ❤ It seems that a lot of our hair habits overlap-the protect your ends challenge is def making a difference! One thing I've notice for my hair is that my internal health and environmental factors have a HUGE impact on my hair. Low iron, new/worsening food allergies, stress, dermatological issues, moving to a new area w hard water, and the like have meant that I have to adjust my products and routine often 😑 it can be frustrating when a tried and true method or product suddenly backfire-so patience has been key. I've even adopted this new hippy-dippy practice of twisting my hair while saying a mantra/focusing on goals and mindfulness. Instead of thinking "fuck this is taking a long time! My neck hurts and that deep conditioner didn't do shit," I think, "warmth, authenticity, openness, patience, confidence" etc with each twisting motion. It sounds weird, but I notice that my posture is better and I'm more aware of how gentle I'm being. Also, if I can't be positive and chill while doing my hair, I don't do my hair that day. Not worth it. ...and for any of the prude haters out there: fuck pussy shit dick snatch titty-sprinkles
I just love you, haha. I agree 10000% that diet/lifestyle also play a major difference! And the water in Cali is super duper hard (just replaced my shower filter this weekend...), and it makes life a lot harder. I'll have to try the positivity mantra, next detangling session, because I get straight up *mean* with each passing minute. "That deep conditioner didn't do shit," hahaha, I've BEEN THERE.
alleycatfire
As I read your comment, initially, I was so impressed with how well you articulated your hair frustrations and "mindfulness" tips (with minimal profanity). It's true that the inner you contributes to the outer you. May lasting & true inner peace (Jesus Christ) be revealed so that there's no need to address the prudes or their haters. Thanks for sharing! #loveandrespect4all
alleycatfire
OMG. I try to do the same. Except I will just keep thinking the word 'love"in my mind when I handle my hair. I too, am more careful and thoughtful. I started to do this because of an experiment done with water molecules when the intent behind the words were spoken to into this water...the results were that the negative words made dissjointed fragmented molecules and the positive molecules produced snowflake-like patterns and geometrical patterns.
The first time I watched your video you dropped the F bomb and I was like " Let me hit this subscribe button!: lol You remind me of me. lol If people don't like your personality they can kick rocks with their socks off!
For real, though! It's just so bizarre that they think bitching about it in my comments section is going to make me change the way I speak. Good thing I *love* blocking assholes.
YASSSSSSS! When she said that natural hair was nothing new to her it really hit home. I was bullied for being one of the few naturals from day one at school with 4c hair. Now everyone is natural and wants to love themselves (which I'm all for) but this mess was nothing new.
I'm a finger detangler and comber too....My hair loves my fingers....
African Export (sigh) I miss the hugs... 😔✊
Me toooooo!
Voodoo Taylor me tooo😔😔😔
wait did I miss something? What happened to African exports?
AS oh noooo😥nothing happened....we just miss her here❤❤😘and we missed her 🤗 hugs in the end of all her videos
Voodoo Taylor
You're so right about the deep conditioning thing. My hair was SO WEAK & shed it so much.
I just strictly follow the directions in the product & I do monthly protein treatments
(I have 4C bleached loc'd hair)
Great tips. I absolutely ❤ you. I'm here for all the advice & profanity! Can't wait for the next challenge 💪💃
You are a breath of fresh air... one of my favourite vloggers for sure.
I love the way you talk. It's not often that you find someone that's this chill instead of boastful when it comes to actually talking about hair. I didn't even mind the 18 minutes. Thank you +NewSub! 🔥🔥🔥
the locococoococ I'm cracking up!
I wishhhhhhh African Export would come back too! Thanks for this video!
I just stumbled upon your channel and became an instant fan after the first minute. I never clicked the subscribe button so fast. I’m here for all of this!!! Much success to you!
Thank you, and welcome to the family!
Finally someone who gave the same answer I always give then get dirty looks. I have bra length hair yet I always where hair extensions because I feel wearing wigs and weaves are what grew my hair out. I am never putting heat in it, I'm not pulling and breaking my hair apart so it has the opportunity to grow more and faster. But when I say that people are always looking for MORE. Thats it I wear extensions and I make sure to take it out once every 4 weeks I treat my hair trim it if needed, then put it back in!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
my husband just ran around singing...its not protecting my ends 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎤
the idea of protective styling to grow my hair seems logical and great but i love having my hair down..whats the point of having dis beautiful ass head of hair if i cant show it off? lol I'd rather keep my shoulder length hair and wear it out lol (no shots just saying why imma have short hair all my life lol)
Ok well this video ain't about you
The loc method is the only, and cheapest thing that works for me. I do that when I wash my hair, then I just braid it up with shin n jam, and it stays moisturized.
Usually, your videos don’t pop up for me, so it’s interesting to have a video from 4 years ago to pop up randomly in my feed.
A stellar vocab coupled with some profanity to punctuate your points is the mark of a grown ass, cultured woman
I always refer back to your videos since I started doing my own protective challenge to see how long I can grow my hair. It's funny you mentioned not keeping your hair in a wet state. I saw this video and this girl said the key to her growing her hair super long was never letting it fully dry and she would cowash and re-wet her twists every other day. Can you do a video on hydral fatigue? I have 3c/ 4a hair and it seems like everyone with very long, healthy hair uses the same method: protect it and leave it alone. So that's what I'm going to do!
I agree with cowashing. I washed my hair. my scalp needs it and it feels itchy and weird when i do not wash it properly.
Loved the video and yes hunny...you are GROWN! They don't like how u talk they can keep it moving!
Right??? Thanks! xx
Just found your page. Life will never be the same. Straight talk. Brilliance. Wit and humor to boot. Already hooked!
Your videos offer a wealth of hair info. It's too bad people asking you not to use profanity offends you. You are funny! :-)
Love how real you are😍😍
😊charlatan is an awesome word. I really appreciate your channel.
i never quite knew how to pronounce it in english and i avoided it forever. I have a French accent. I always use "con" instead because i am scared charlatan mind sound too "flowery" when i say it . at least now i know how to pronounce it ( sorta ).
SAT word; standard?🤔
Baby you do not have to explain yourself, this is YOUR channel. you DO what you want.
Yes to the tip regarding trimming. It hurts to see ladies on RUclips doing length checks when only about 10 strands hit their mark and the rest is two inches shorter and raggedy.
Coconut oil on the ends help me a lot. I wrap my hair up all of the time as well. I wear my hair down occasionally. Like you, I also stick with the same shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, hair masque and moisturizer on my hair. It also look time to find a heat protectant that isn't too oily. I don't use heat that often.
I really enjoyed this video. It's not a lot of RUclipsrs that can make me watch an 18 video of just talking without me almost falling asleep on my chair. You and I share some of the same tips, especially the listening to your own hair and do everything that everybody else does and leaving your hair alone. And I love the way you're so articulate and not rambling all over the place. Great video.
Thanks!
Saw that this video was nearly 19 minutes long and didn't think I was going to make it ...... Subscribed after 30 seconds and watched it twice. Only thing more dope than your hair tips was your vernacular.... "Charlatan", can't even express to you how much I love that word. I appreciate you :)
I love your attitude.. " I curse, I'm grown, if its not ur cup of tea...thanks for stopping by"...I'm grown....❤️❤️🔥
Your the best friend I have never had. Personally, vibe and delivery of info is top notch. Great work.
First time viewing you and I subscribed. I love watching educated, quick-witted black women! It's so refreshing and relatable! YAY! Go YOU!!!
This video was what I needed to hear right now. I also love your no nonsense and blunt way of speaking because that's exactly how I speak as well. Thanks for being real and putting good info out there.
"Slamming your ends in a car door" that was hilarious! You made a good point though! A technique may not be popular but if your hair loves it, stick with it.
It's a shame that you had to have a five minute disclaimer before you even began talking because so many trolls are trying to tell you what to do/say in your videos. Just subscribed so I'm off to look at more vids. Btw I love an articulate woman who loves curse words. Go girl!
I wanted to continue watching solely for your intelligence. You are very well spoken and you make black women shine. Much love :)
How the hell am i just finding out this video!!! Aside from the fact that she spoke nothing but truth in this video, her command of english is out of this world. Came here to learn new hair tips but learnt new words in addition. New subscriber alert!!!!
You are literally the first you tuber I’ve listened to and your advice has actually helped significantly 😍 my hair is moisturized and flourishing thanks to you you are a blessing THANK YOU
That is so wonderful to hear! The only reason I ever feel like it's worth it to share my experiences is in the hope that it will help someone else. Thank you!
I love this.
I recently uploaded a disclaimer video entitled 'I'm not a hair guru' in order to contextualise any hair advice that I give on my channel and to preemptively absolve myself of any responsibility for anyone who blindly follows my advertised routines. As you clarified in your video 'I'm showing you what I do, not what to do.'
Her personality and poise is really all I want in life. you go glen coco!
new subbie from London. I like your no nonsense attitude.
Have been 'natural' nearly 6 years and I think I'm also just starting to appreciate the 'whole practise means more than product thing'. Still doesn't stop me being a bit of a junkie though!!
Interested also in your keep your hair stretched comment. I think it makes wash days easier- less tangles/detangling. Of course it's easier as your hair grows (which is why i'm trying to retain length - mainly for the sake of stretching and maintenance!)
Also good to be reminded to be gentle!!
Sadly I have now decided to never let someone else do my hair anymore either. SO FED UP with wasting time and money at salons - even supposedly 'curly hair specialist' ones!!
Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Yesss! Speak your mind. Congrats on your 25" length.
I really like the fact that you mentioned to NOT do what everyone else says works for THEM! I had to learn this the hard way. Also adding products because it worked for "whoever" did not work for me.
The key is learning what our hair likes (individually) in order to achieve the goals we seek.
I've had many issues with people doing my hair in the past only to find out that I had less of it, and I so agree with you about not letting anyone else touch your hair. I know that I'm much better off for it.
This has been a very informative video and I appreciate you sharing.
I love following a RUclipsr who says things I'm already doing or thinking 😊 I learned the hard way to take pieces from different regimens or styling options and make them work for my hair. Still a work in progress but getting closer. One thing I can't master yet is a good "trim it myself" technique. lol I'll have to hunt through your page and others and keep trying because I'm not for anyone else doing my hair again either! Anyway great video and thanks for your frank and awesome advice!
Happy it helped!
Lmao your intro was everything! 😂😂😂 People are so annoying smh keep doing you
Sis really referred to the law of thermodynamics 😂😂 yaaaassss
Could you not use such big words like "antithetical" cuz I have a sensitive prostitution and you be sounding too edumacated. You luvv to show off yo college education. I see you. Jus cuz some of us be around here bald-headed and basic don't mean you gotta rub it in.
Ok, I had to. sorry. I will say the one practice I've never employed (now I have no hair, big chop #3) is keeping my hair stretched. I am growing out my hair and I'll consider it. I'm just soooo lazy. After twisting, "I can't do no mo." I've managed to reach near-BSL in the past but had a baby and cut it off.
So, we will see. Thanks for the tips and I'm reading the blog post now.
cuidate, chica.
Hahahaha, "sensitive prostitution." I tap out after twisting my hair, too, so don't feel bad. Until recently, with all this roller setting and Curlformers nonsense, the twists or plaits that I put in after deep conditioning were all I did to stretch my hair, and they are still most often all that I do-- including on my most recent wash day!
😂😂
I don't like to use too much product or taking too much time out of my week so once a day out of the week or every 2 weeks (prolly Saturday) regimen is:Short version:Deep treatmentShampooLeave in conditioner/moisturizerSeal in oils Scalp Style
- In Depth
Deep treatment:Egg Msm (can make you sensitive to alcohol)Castor oilCoconut oil (not that much)Almond oilI want to include Jojoba oil and argan oil In once I buy it
After my treatment (max 1-2 hours leave in) I usually shampoo with Creme of nature argan oil but now I'm trying Maui coconut milk shampoo.
Then I don't use regular wash conditioner I come out the shower and use a leave in spray conditioner because I already conditioned and the wash conditioner tend to bother the result of my deep treatment (I usually like spray conditioners/moisturizers not creamed ones):I used to used Creme of nature leave in spray but for some reason it stopped working for me and now the almond milk carols daughter is really good also the curls lavish moisturizer leave-in works.
I usually seal with castor oil and almond oil then use the virgin hair fertilizer on my scalp sometimes with an oil. (If I will straiten my hair this part of them regimen doesn't exist instead I use silk elements mega alike heat protectant spray and its Ah-mazing!)
For my edges every other night cor about 2-3 weeks, I did mix garlic, castor oil and almond oil. That worked! It does have a scent bc of the garlic. Do not put too much garlic and do not use it in the morning throughout the night the scent goes away for me anyway.
they just hating on you cuz you're melanated and you're beautiful and you figured out how to grow your hair out little haters
