HOLY CRAP!! That Child writing automata was one of the major plot points in Martin Scorscese's Hugo film... Amazing that its still in mint condition. Thanks for all the great videos man!
Beautiful and amazing watches. Too expensives but it's normal when you see all work involved in them. Thanks for sharing this video and my best wishes to everyone from Chile.
Catia V.5 to design a watch, or an aircraft... at this level is almost the same! The challenges behind micro-mechanisms open space for innovations to be used in several applications! Jaquet Droz is unique, is the time alive!
I often wonder what our world would look like had we not discovered and harnessed electricity... What amazing mechanical art. Personally my favorite brand
I would like my bird of choice if at all possible 😉. A Curl Crested Aracaris or a Collard Aracaris would be my pick since these 2 are actually family members in my house hold . I'm like you Andre , I would have no problem sporting a beautiful bird on my wrist.
Does anyone know of any other watchmakers who have pursued automaton complications besides Jaquet-Droz? Perhaps other micro-brands like Roger Dubois or Bovet? I know a lot of companies make Tourbillions, Minute Repeaters, Perpetual/Annual Calendars, but these automaton complications seem truly unique in the industry. Any thoughts?
There really aren't that many, because they are simply very complicated to build. Here's a rather crazy example Richard Mille introduced a couple of years ago, really quite something: ruclips.net/video/y6lC5wYpiW0/видео.html
Thanks for the information! I was not previously aware for the RM19-02! VERY unique piece. As designers and artists begin to reach the envelope on what can be done with a traditional dial and traditional complications, I think automatons will play an increasingly bigger role in the high horology market. Van Cleef and Arpels is the only one besides Jaquet-Droz which comes to mind, so it will be interesting to see what happens to this segment of the market!
Imagine now how complicated the human body is... takes so much time to make and engineer these model to do things. Then we suddenly believe human creation came from a big bang lol amazing
It,s difficult to think of a finer more perfect marriage of art and micro engineering. Absolutely stunning. !!
You nailed it!
Hands down, my favourite RUclips channel!!!
Nice to hear, thanks a lot!
No doubts, i totally agree with you.
So it is!
I love that Droz is still making automaton watches. One of the few.
Amazing video. Amazing Automata Micro Engineering. Thanks for sharing.
That flowers are Simply Amezing. Thank you for showing us. 👏👏👏👏
Very very welcome, thanks!
3 videos in 3 days. These are good times!
I see, I see, we could do more i guess...

Excellent!!! Good to see the long history of this company. The automata are amazing.
Completely are!!!
This is incredible - I can't imagine anyone wearing such a thing but the skill, both artistic and technical, is really something else. Great video.
When you think that you see all Jaquet shows its arsenal and destroys our heads with greatest designs. Greatness.
Thank you.
Very very welcome!
I love the automata from JD, intriguing and classy! Thanks for sharing the good stuff :)
Always there for this ;)
Jacquet Droz never fails to surprise me
Very beautiful brand!
Very informative. I would love to visit that museum and see the original automata. Reminds me of the excellent video game "Syberia and Syberia 2"
This is the most beautiful watch I have ever seen! I love the red gold version, with the red flower, my absolute favourite. Absolute perfection!
You have nice tastes ;)
@@user-zl2sc3bg3g Way too expensive for my slim wallet, but at least I get to look at it :) Thank you for the videos, they are much appreciated.

Not my cup of tea but indeed a very impressive achievement in terms of design, creativity, craftmanship and execution! Great work, Jaquet-Droz.

Those people working on those watches must have the steady hands of a surgeon.

Jaquet Droz is unique, is the time alive!
It's amazing those automates were created 250 years ago! It's like steampunk in real life -- modern technology adapted in 18th century ways.
Exactly !!!
Very informative and inspiring!
Thanks a lot, happy you enjoyed it
I often wonder what our world would look like had we not discovered and harnessed electricity... What amazing mechanical art. Personally my favorite brand
And can you imagine that these "robot ancestors" were precisely done without any of it; no electricity, no machining... All by hand and talent!
Yep. Electricity and motors ruined mechanicals.
Exceptional !!!!!!!!!!!
This lad was one of the greatest engineers in history. Pity he's not that well known by people
I WOULD love blessing my mother, Monica and my sister.
Mindblowing

Wow, you know what you want!!! You're super precise on this one ;)
Cool~That's truly Steampunk!
Song is from Gramatik if Im not mistaken
You're right!

Hmm... I feel like I've seen that flower watch before *cough Richard Mille cough* :D

Ingenuity merits a genius.
;)
Don’t know about these. Seems that it’s targeted towards Arab market
