In my opinion, one of the most impressive things about Atarashi Gakko! is how often they change their dance routines for their songs. They seem to be able to change and adjust their dance to fit the stage they are performing on, the audience, and just for the sake of presenting something different. Most groups choreograph a routing and that is the routine they use for that song time and again. I've seen many different videos of Otona Blue, and each time they seem to perform differently. To me, that's one of the best reasons to see them live, you don't know what you're going to see. You may know the songs, but you can never know what the dance routine will be. These girls are not only talented, they are smart, innovative, and seem to want to go all out for their fans. My hope for them in 2024 is that, no matter how popular and successful they become, they still have fun. Their audience will enjoy them as long as they enjoy what they're doing.
They have few videos of their practice and you see that they exercise improvisation. The amazing fact is, that they are always in perfect sync as if they are controlled by some kind of super mind.
Two simple reasons for being able to tailor each performance to the particular circumstance of each different stage: 1. In addition to being talented singers and dancers, they create ALL their own choreographies, and they do it as a group, each contributing to the the entirety, using the song for inspiration and therefore having a reason for every move, every position. By the time they've created the choreography, they've already absorbed every move and the reason for it, because in creating the choreography, they understand the purpose and meaning for everything they are doing. With just a single run-through before the performance, they can call out to each other the adjustments they will have to make and voila! they're ready for the stage. They are such professionals. 2. 北米ツアー4ヶ所めのワシントンＤＣに行かれた海外の方も、彼女達の士気が全く下がって居ない事に驚嘆されていました。
観客を楽しませ自分たちもそれを楽しんで一体となり、激しいパフォーマンスを最後まで全力でやり抜いていたと。
バラバラ大作戦で何気なく話していましたが、そうやって肝心な舞台で最高のパフォーマンスを生み出すセルフコントロールの仕方とか、私が大人になって知ったコーチング理論そのままで。
それを長い活動の中で実践しながら学び取ったとか、彼女達の才能は歌とダンスだけじゃないのだなと思いました😊
