Ker is his coach though, I think you’re missing the point. Kerr is the one that allowed curry to play the way he is and set the game plan for his players to prioritize the three over most shots
@@ShagishiDonis I literally pointed that out. Lol so no I didn’t miss the point. I was arguing that Kerr was an influence as a shooter to the next round of shooters. Basically if Seth curry was in the 90s, the lack of analytics and just being scared to allow shooters to just start throwing them up like they do now, it would’ve been shackles for the homie.
You can see how the game has changed. Here Kerr speaks about the importance of setting your feet before even getting the pass, and the importance of passing accurately at the right time when the shooter is square in position. That used to be the basic rule, and it still is, on amateur level. But thanks to Steph, nowadays you can just pass the ball on the shooter's running lane (like football pass), he'll literally catch the ball himself and shoot. Not everyone can do it, and nobody can do it like Steph, hitting circus shots while still running or on single foot, but overall the very basic rules of passing and setting have changed, along with "good shot selection". Now if you give that setting space Kerr is talking about, it's a layup. Shooting drills have changed too. Players take three steps to the right, three steps to the left after each shot, and catch the ball while still in motion and practice shooting quicker.
Could be wrong, but it feels like there’s more and more elite level one motion jumpshots in the NBA. Everyone I’ve ever seen pre 2000 had a two motion jump shot
Steve Kerr was a great spot up shooter... he was a 90s era 3 point shooter where you just camped out at the 3 point line waiting for someone to pass you the ball. he was still very deadly out there though.
The 3 pointer wasn't nearly as popular as it was in the 1990's vs. todays league. Teams are shooting twice as many threes in the modern NBA as they were 20 years ago. Even then shooting 50% from 3 pt land isn't anything to sneeze at.
His shot never needed to be that quick with Jordan and Pippen getting all the attention, not to mention the fact that Rodman had to be boxed out, so Steve Kerr was wide open for a lot 3's, Curry on the other hand has to create space himself off screens or using his dribble, that's why he's the best 3 point shooter of all time, he's more like reggie 2.0 who had to do the same....Ray Allen had a lot of spot up 3 point opportunities too which is why Reggie is better than him and Steve Kerr, but Curry is better than all of them.

I think the key to Kerr's all time best career 3 pt percentage is the ark on the ball, his shots weren't always the cleanest but the soft ark put in a lot of shots that hit a fair amount of rim. He also followed the ball with his eyes on the release, did not keep his eyes on the rim for the whole shot (and losing track of the ball for a lot of it's flight). I think that helps with feel and rhythm for each shot individually, it doesn't matter if you made the previous 5 shots or missed them all, every one is a unique shot and you totally forget about all previous shots with this technique. also as a bull, all the focus on jordan, pippen and in the paint gave him more wide open shots than some other great shooters had to deal with, like Mark Price, Ray Allen, Peja, Reggie Miller, etc.

@@zeaferjones1404 There are a few defensive players in the NBA that play good defense but so many suck at it that it hurts the entire team. You see them break off from their man on defense and watch the ball way too much or try to help. They don't switch properly either at times and leave people wide open for 3s and why you have so many. It's not that hard to shut down the 3 if you stay on your man like glue and don't worry about the ball unless you're on the ball it's hard for them to get open. They'll have to start driving and setting more picks and playing one on one the entire game just about. They make it too easy for people to score these days.

@@willnew4745 By greatest career you need to see the big picture man. Has nothing to really do with talent IN MY OPINION. The day I heard he got the GSW job I said he has had the best basketball career just based on all the fields he was able to touch in the sport. Nothing to really do with accolades. If you ask ME, who’s basketball CAREER I would rather have between MJ and Steve Kerr it is not even a question. This is literally just an opinion not an argument for him being the best coach or best player or anything like that
@@willnew4745 no one disrespected those guys' rings loser. He's basically just saying this guy has done everything at the highest level in regards to basketball. Obviously he's not calling him better than MJ or bill russell LOL
Mini seizure at 0:38 no big deal
Brandon illuminati confirmed
illuminati confirmed
ty for the warning
i have epilepsy and after those 3 fucking seizures thank god im the one who didn’t have a seizure
I fuck with your profile pick so hard bro. RTJ. Fuck yeah
One day he will be one of the top coaches in the world...probably his team will win a championship too....
Derrick Kabochi yeah i sure hope
seems like a nice kid i hope so too
LMFAO Deadass
Kerr was deadly in the 3 point arc. A true sharp shooter. Great part of that historic 72 10 bulls team. I think that's why golden state is such a great shooting team. He preaches shooting lights out.
He released the full potential of Curry and KT.
one of the GOATs. 🐐🐐🐐🐐
Wow. Incredible shooting form. Gorgeous
Ironically the end part of the video narrates exactly what Kerr will eventually do some 3 years later. This video is from 93-94 season.. right after 1st 3-peat, Paxon was the current hero at the time.
Juan Pablo Plascencia Valle True, but his shot vs the Jazz wasn't a 3 ;)
ThanosCraft true or not but what matters most he got MJ's trust
this guy has 6 rings and 2 coy...wow
2?
+Demian de Jesus 2
+Demian de Jesus or 1....I thought he won it 2 years ago.
he wasn't even coaching 2 years ago haha, last year was his first ever coaching job. He had been part of FO's before, but never a coach
+Duvangrgata B. (Duvangrgata1) 2 years ago meaning last year lol
The best SPOT-UP shooter in the history of the game.
Klay would like to know your location
Peja stojakovic
Did you forget about tacko fall
I love this guy!!!! So chill! Keep it up! More championships to come! 🙌🏽
Great piece! Good feel knowing who to feature.
This keeps coming in my recommended so eventually I just clicked it
aaron berhane Hey Aaron...I’m glad they wore you down. Haha. Thanks for watching.
Steve Kerr is a great coach, great human being.
The transitions were so fun my brother's dancing on the floor!
Always respected and like Kerr. Loved watching him on the Bulls
Curry and Kerr. Wow both are amazing 3 points shooter. I love Kerrs shooting form.
He would definitely thrive more in this modern league. He wasn’t allowed to shoot that much then.
lmao he would not thrive at all he would be a defensive liability
@@teamworkformyfrainds They all don't play defense. If they did you wouldn't see so many threes. People would play tight man defense and not sag off so much or double team. People stand around watching the ball more than where their man is.
@@ebogar42 It sort of reminds me of people that make the "Curry isn't good at defense" argument. Sure if you compare him to a 90's player but he is one of the few that at least tries so he is one of the better defensive point guards.
@@teamworkformyfrainds If he wasn't a defensive liability then, he most definitely wouldn't be one now
Look out for this guy in the future. He’s going places.
We watch the game and see the end result, but what we don't see is the mount of practice and dedication athletes put in to mastering their craft, so it can count when it matters the most and that's why Steve was a 3 point master.
somehow got into my recommendations 6 years later
I see a bright future for this talented rising star. 👍
hes retired now lmao
I think this was filmed before Kerr’s iconic shot. Wasn’t a 3 but still very important.
It was
This video was shot at the 93-94 season. The iconic shot happened in 97
Jordan wasn't even playing at this point
one of the best to do it!
What a nice young man. I wonder if he’ll build a team off of his 3pt shot and win multiple championships.
Coach Steve Kerr +10 3 Point Attributes to all players
Hearing that 90s reporter voice over at the end triggered some good nostalgia for me. Felt like a kid again for a sec
StoneAgeStark Well that’s a nice comment I’ve never heard. Glad I could take you back to a happy time. I’ve got tons of reports I’ve done over the years so watch for more of them. Thanks for watching and be sure to keep in touch.
Steve Kerr: *Champion of the 3*
Steve Kerr: *Also produces Curry*
Everyone talks about Mj..Pipp...Worm and Special K in those teams, but not enough people talk about Steve Kerrs contribution...he was such a great piece Bulls had off the bench! Fantastic player
He was starting PG bro.
@@mandem2362 camon young fella...Steve was most of the time 2nd off bench after the Waiter
Not really
I hope he wins a ring some day
Golden Piece of Advice at this State he is a deadly 3pt Warrior
And here I am watching this man in 2022 seeing him coach 4 titles in 8 years
thankyou to lead warriors made 2022 championship, and made my year ,great player great coach great team
He is good at explaining things. He can be a coach someday.
Agree to that maybe coach someone named curry
this was the whitest basketball video I've ever seen

atl3630 this better be a joke lol
1:05 might be the whitest thing I've seen on a court
atl3630 I thought it looked very bright
AnimeFeverTime LOL
Love Steve Kerr. Great player and coach. I just realize his voice sounds like Steve Martin....
This video is incredibly similar to Birds shooting videos in the 80s, emphasis on practicing closer before you go further out and catch and release. Great stuff !
Steve Kerr, Master of the 3-Pronged Joint
LMFAAAOOO that " Awesome " at 1:06 I'm crying
Now he coaches the all time best shooter 🤘🤙
I just love Steve Kerr be it as a player or as a coach, he is just phenomenal.
He seems like such a chill dude to play for.
wonder if he is the reason curry is deadly from long range. i can remember back in the day mimicking hitting the game winning shot as kerr. ahh the good ol days.
Jeff d no Curry was doing it before Kerr became coach lol. He broke the record for most 3s in a season the first time in 2013 before Kerr was even a thought as coach
Curry's dad is a more likely influence. Dell
maybe thompson, cuz his quick release, his already in motion before he even get the ball
"This is not pressure, this is fun. Pressure was last year when I was looking for job."
He made 4 in row............
Wow

It's nice that he helped bring victory to Chicago. Here at AZ he brought at best 3rd or 4th place in the NCAA's...a few "one and done's" as I recall.
A 3-point specialist with a 2-way 3pt specialist built dynasty ; match made in heaven
