Showing humility and being a little shy in front of the camera is no bad thing. In fact people could learn a lot and garner more respect if they showed those same traits. If sports has taught us one thing, it's how you perform on the field of play - nothing else. Wang is a solid guy and hopefully he'll continue to get better and get some well deserved podiums in the future. Nice video.
After reading through a bunch of comments on here, I have to agree that he sounded pretty stiff and uncomfortable. He's a great driver and it sucks to see his true personality not come through on this. I would recommend that the next time you guys do one of these you help the guy get warmed up to the camera. Give him a beer and let him speak what's on his mind. And FFS, let's really talk about style!
I literally think that's how he really is though, I've watched a couple videos with him and he just kinda stares into the camera and talks. It may seem awkward but I know quiet a few people with that same personality, eh who knows though just my observation
He's actually really chill and cool in person! was fortunate to drive around him and hang out during LowStyleHeroes Vol. 1 in Shenandoah :O guess being interviewed and filmed just made him stiff xD
Good job babe! I am so proud of you and how far we have come as a team! I love you so much! And for all the negative comments... Forrest is shy but he has come a long way out of his shell. This isn't an acting or camera job it's a PROFESSIONAL DRIVING PASSION. If you want to see people that are 100% comfortable in front of a camera go watch the movies or professional actors.
I agree, but them making him read a script of a situation bout a situation...sigh...makes him look like a fake(imagine every realityTV show till now). But you know...cause Money. The whole time watching this I feel like he's gonna try and sell me some teeth whitening products or something at the end and tell me how it really changed his life...sigh. But you know...cause...Money. *sigh* If he's shy I say let him be shy cause that's who he is and there is nothing wrong with that. Besides, some of my favourite interviews are of scandinavian F1 and WRC champions giving one line answers at press conferences and not giving one shit about it:)
mattmattmatt131313 well actually he's not reading from anything. This had nothing to do with money, usually you have to pay to get this kind of coverage, a friend did it for free.
Forrest could seriously relax. He seemed stressed and stiff, like someone who's reading a script and having hundreds of thoughts going through his head at the same time. Because of this, the interview itself was actually quite boring, while viewing the video itself for the sake of seeing cool cars drifting was entertaining. Relax, take a deep breath and just be natural. ...unless, of course, he's naturally stiff like that all the time (which I hardly doubt). Waiting to see part 2.
+Sami Mäkäräinen he's a shy guy, possibly a degree of introvert.. I've met him in person on a few occasions and each time he seems just as stiff and uneasy as he is in all of his videos, but he loosens up once he feels comfortable... he just needs to get comfortable talking to other people, random strangers and camera lenses... I also think it's got a lot to do with the fact he's drifting for the sport of it, not for the fans or the money... the stardom he's built is overwhelming, surprising and more than was expected or ready for... but I unno, maybe I'm wrong.. but that's how it seems..
Does anyone feel like the judges of FD are not the best? When I watch some of the races in Seattle, I feel like they someone else should have won instead of being a 'one more time' or vise versa. I prefer Tsuchiya's still from D1GP.
in formulad having shitty lead is far less damaging than bad follow, witch doesnt make much sense since you cant have a great chase to inconsistent faulty lead its like leader for fuckup gets -1 but chase for hawing to back out and fall behind because of leads issue get -2 its stupid but it is what it is.
Well, they improved, Some of the calls are not the best but most of the time are actually good. If you actually really look and read all the rules, and the map of the track, and the criteria then you'll understand but I'm pretty they weren't the best in 2010's but imo they improved.
Forrest does have the best style. He seems like hes more about hitting the clipping points/wall rides and massive angle rather than trying to sprint to the finish and gap his competitors with little angle. I like it.
His driving is trash. he needs to remind himself that he is the boy in the league because drifting did not start out as big power plant's. they didn't have all the good turbo's fd uses now. fuck fd.
One thing I find truly awesome is when Forrest is speaking, he's using "we" or "us", not "I" or "me"... A great driver understands the importance of his team..
3:06 “Allowing me to throw super massive angle drifts that I like to do” Bro what, they scripted this for him, he did not want to talk and say that stuff.....
this is why my favourite people and always will be my favourite is the Worthouse boys. Not only can they both drift well and have fun while doing it they also have a great personality and are able to communicate with fans and just in general everyone well. They are level headed down to earth normal decent human being but also can drift. This guy can drift but you can tell hes got such a stiff personality i can only imagine how awk it would be to ask him for an autograph or photo..
DannyH In old Japanese racing the drivers actually drifted to go faster. The actual Drift King got famous because he drifted more spectacularly than other drivers because everyone knew he would win already.
DannyH yup its about the line and hittin apex while stayin in proximity you dont need so much speed and smoke like american FD. Watch drift muscle and watch the best japanese drifters and arguably the best drifters in the world. Or D1SL all street legal cars not this 1000 hp bullshit
Forrest, try to imagine the camera is just one of your GetNuts homies instead of many random fans... There's no reason for nervousness or paranoia when talking to fans or cameras because they would eat the words from the palms of your hand if you tried feeding it to them...
Shy in front of people, maybe? Shy behind the wheel at high speeds drifting, i don't think so. Look at the bigger picture, he drives high horse powered cars and does what he loves. What do you people do for a living that's this exciting? Bump for Forrest Wang!

+mattmattmatt131313 I rather hear the story like this than a one liner from someone who dont care, thats what Im here for.
hes not even that bad though!!
As a team. What the fuck did you do?
Finally a formula d vid not about A v8 swapped car ! More of this.
Forrest Wang is the Best Driver in D1 Gp... My Favourite Driver... Much Skill.. Much Wow... Much Smoke... Much Awsomeness..
Forrest Wang. My favorite drifter in FD

Fixer Don't know who you know that goes like that when they're stoned but they're doing it wrong.
I didn't mean it that literally :P
It was just scripted, and he was trying to be professional.
Way better than most interviews where people have no idea what to say.
+Sami Mäkäräinen he's a shy guy, possibly a degree of introvert.. KremitDeFrog That would explain it.
DRIFT FOREST DRIFT
DRIFTING AWAY FROM BULLIES😂😂😂😂
Like " run forest run"
Wang seems like cool dude
wish I could meet this man. My favorite drifter. In MY OPINION he has the best drifting style. Crazy angles, crazy 2j, crazy 240s, and crazy man.
Forrest always had a sense of style with drifting tho. Style is something I don’t really see anymore in fd.
I'm pretty sure you guys can end the series right here.
Does anyone feel like the judges of FD are not the best? When I watch some of the races in Seattle, I feel like they someone else should have won instead of being a 'one more time' or vise versa. I prefer Tsuchiya's still from D1GP.
I think Forrest beat essa.
Everyone thinks that, the judges are very biased towards certain drivers and lack common sense
in formulad having shitty lead is far less damaging than bad follow, witch doesnt make much sense since you cant have a great chase to inconsistent faulty lead its like leader for fuckup gets -1 but chase for hawing to back out and fall behind because of leads issue get -2 its stupid but it is what it is.

Definitely inspiring me to get my first drift car .
Man he made it completely obvious that he was reading from a script. Nobody speaks in monotone like that.
I always loved his aggressive style
A forrest to be reckoned with lol
I watched wang at a nope drift event years ago, he was killing it in the tandem! He made me a fan.
He did an SR20 swap in 1999? WTF how old is he?!
And yeah, chill out bro. You seemed pretty stressed on front of the camera...
yeah he is just reading it but how badly:D
U dumb?
Bruno Brusi bruh this video is old
He looks like hes not enjoying the drifting just numbers first second third
Nikolas konths who cares lol
This s14 acceleration its absolutely incredible. I honestly cant believe it.
Awesome Video! Looking forward to FD Seattle 2015!
Forrest does have the best style. He seems like hes more about hitting the clipping points/wall rides and massive angle rather than trying to sprint to the finish and gap his competitors with little angle. I like it.
The nostalgia is unreal
Good thing he drives better than he talks
His driving is trash. he needs to remind himself that he is the boy in the league because drifting did not start out as big power plant's. they didn't have all the good turbo's fd uses now. fuck fd.
Night Reapers so your a better driver xD
Yeah, I honestly agree with you there. Crazy angle and high horsepower, yawn.
@@nightreapers3425 This is the sport of drifting not the late night japanese mountain drifts you fucking idiot, different things
@UCZPrB8OnL1tunN_Og2hwajQ it’s funny because the one person who started big horsepower drifting was Daigo Saito. A Japanese drifter. You dummy
Love the revolving camera mounted on the back of the car :)
Good to see people still rocking cool motors
One thing I find truly awesome is when Forrest is speaking, he's using "we" or "us", not "I" or "me"... A great driver understands the importance of his team..
forrest wang will always be the best!!

“Allowing me to throw super massive angle drifts that I like to do”
Bro what, they scripted this for him, he did not want to talk and say that stuff.....
do you not see him looking behind the camera
The New Jersey event was sick
right on forrest nice to know your doing good in the mainland always keep hawaii with you bro aloha 🤙🤙

suitman savage Same G
I love Forrest wang 🔥
sick car!
Car look is awesome
When the Eurobeat kicks in
Him and dai yoshihara are my favorites
As far as style odi is my favorite. Fast and always on the door of the lead car
2 seasons with an apexi??? thats sick dude
this is insane.
Maybe you should tell us what makes his "style" different from anyone else.
would be nice if one of those Formula D videos showcased someone actually winning an event or two.
Was i the only one waiting for him to fuck up and say separate the boys from the girls?
Oke masok pak Eko
This isnt drifting. Drifting is about the flow and how it looks not how fast you are ahead of someone.
No, drifting is a tactic used to carry speed through corners, especially in low grip conditions.
You will always be able to go faster in a track tuned car with grip around a corner. Drifting is slower.
DannyH You both sound dumb as fuck right now.
DannyH In old Japanese racing the drivers actually drifted to go faster.
The actual Drift King got famous because he drifted more spectacularly than other drivers because everyone knew he would win already.

My favorite FD driver
Best style by far! GetNuts!
Hope good luck to u man😊😊😎
Forrest, try to imagine the camera is just one of your GetNuts homies instead of many random fans... There's no reason for nervousness or paranoia when talking to fans or cameras because they would eat the words from the palms of your hand if you tried feeding it to them...
You guys think Forrest wang is not a problem your crazy watch this year formula d
I like c
I know that first track my dad used to take me there
lucky
so that was your quadrotor at road atlanta
Nice!!
Hey Mr Wang swap in a RB 20,2.5 or 2.6 dett and you can drift all day with all that torque.
Fuck he needs to come back to fd
It's like he's reading something, speak your mind! ... Sad
More pls
Props to him for not using a v8 but he seems a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera.
I live 10 minutes from Road Atlanta
Shy in front of people, maybe? Shy behind the wheel at high speeds drifting, i don't think so. Look at the bigger picture, he drives high horse powered cars and does what he loves. What do you people do for a living that's this exciting? Bump for Forrest Wang!
808 state ftw
SHOW!!!
I love smoke!
The rap starts here 0:18
I wonder where he is now.
Was expecting some examples of his drifting style that won him that award. Oh well.
5:23 Fredric Aasbø :o
So? How is drifiting judged?
chase: The distañce from the lead. Must follow what the lead do. same speed and angle
Lead: must be far from Chase. Must have big angle.
+Forgetful Bloke Thanks mate.
Zephuuuur-- no problem pal
Also the clipping points
lately in FD seems like wins the one who just has better sponsors
Just spoke to R2D2, he said Wang seems robotic. The irony.
I wanted to see what made his style the best drifting style, but all it's really saying is how he won once, and lost all the others...
My dream job
Ini pada pake bhs apaan sih? 😁
Is it just me or does it look like he is reading a text presented in front of him?
جميل جدا انااحب القياده بل انزلاق
ken block has been all this stuff before becoming a professional drifter
Kansei drift is the best
This dude sounds like he's reading through a script for the first time and had a bad coffee that morning.
Is he from hawaii?
Mr. Stiff during the interview, sounds like hes reading a script
He's the best and couldn't win FD this year because they kept fucking him against Deane with the OMT. Such bullshit.
Why is he talking like a robot?
No handbrake = real drifting
This guy is a robot
I need this car in Forza NOW
forza drifting is easy you cant spin out or get a good angle
@@2-Slick And? It's still a sick car.
Why is he not in Forza Horizon 4 tho
daigo saito hands down
apexi commando i think oem ecu wtf
Did you guys write a script for him to read wtf 😂
so the point of this was to show how he kept losing?
Bertele-tele
Is this guy a robot
I'll probably get a lot of dislikes this but I don't like the the green
Why does Forrest look so awkward---boiz got it---one of the best in Formula D!
Is he reading from a teleprompter? ?
here from tj hunt :)
go back
@@umana93 HAHAHAHAHAHA rude but funny af.
meh, formula v8, booooring...
Alex Ottosson and what do you have? A stock vtec automatic honda accaord?
هوا يالتوزين ٣:١٩ 😂😂😂💔
At least he tries to not make his car look like complete ass like the other fd cars
Its just a power slide. Not a drift
