Great video! You introduced me to a new artist as well! Thank you! I recently ordered the Klipsch RP 600M and it’s my first foray into good speaker setups. Really looking forward to it
I have been living with both for over two years now. I have had beloved Mark Levinson 585 driving these beautiful speakers I give the nod to the MUCH less expensive Klipsch RP-600M. The B&W's are simply outstanding speakers, but they don't do anything that warrants the massive price difference between the two.
The mids and highs are better on the B&W when heard in person. The B&W are also warmer and score higher on the WAF, that being said the price point on the Klipsch is exceptional value. Nice review with the very underated Grace playing piano. Thx.
The voice sounded clearer on the Klipsch and it was detailed. I attributed that to the tractrix horn driver. The B&W sounded smoother and I could probably listen to them longer, but it didn't seem as detailed in some passages. It all comes down to a matter of preference.
Your analysis hit it right on the head....I like the live sound to balance-out the 'darker' sound of my current pre/poweramp (McIntosh vintage).....but for many neutral or 'brighter' amps, B and W would work with TONS OF SUCCESS.
The 706's sound a lot clearer with more detail, the Klipse are more 'fun' sounding which a lot of people will like and for the price still very good. I'm still using my 18 year old B&W DM602s2 speakers!, really temped to upgrade to the B&W 606's but I'm still so attached to my 602's, I wish you could grab a pair of 602's and compare them to the modern B&W's to see how the sound has changed.
Wow, superb sound from both. Really surprised by the Klipsch - I heard none of the edginess or harshness they are supposedly prone to. Listening on my Sony headphones they have a lovely airy but relaxed presentation and the small jazz combo sounded so real. I listened to the whole track and will go and find it to stream for myself, that's how much I enjoyed these speakers. I doubted if the B&W could do any better, but then I started listening and well... ok, it's another level and the extra detail demands your attention. In short, either of these would be superb choices with this kind of partnering equipment, but congrats to you on creating such a well balanced listening space and doing such a great job in the recording.
Just reading the comments on pricing of these 2 speakers in various countries and have noticed people quoting Australian prices for the B&W at about $1500 au, the 706 s2 last time i looked were $2400au ( massive Difference) Klipsch Rp 600 are about $1300/1500 depending on the Finish
The non-audiophile musicians of that group would love to have the Klipsch inside their own rooms, while audiophiles who love to breakdown the music into small parts to be analyzed to death, would prefer the B&W. The most difference was in the piano solo at 2:50 (Klipsch) vs 9:00 (B&W). The Klipsch sounded LIVE and intimate with me sitting very close with the singer and band members in a small jazz bar. Im physically there. It can communicate the excitement and soul of the music. Its not an intellectual pretender. The B&W made me feel as though Im seated much farther away in a quiet corner of a bigger space, with the speaker trying to impress the audiophile in me with a very spacious, wide soundstage and great instrument separation...great for an audiophile to analyze to death. The LIVE feel is hardly there, and its not as closely confined, punchy, feet thumping and exciting as the Klipsch.
Portions of the vocals seem to fade a bit and the bass took over for me on the B&W's, the Kipsch seemed much sharper on the vocals. Considering the bass was still respectable on the Klipsch and to my ear sounded more enjoyable for the vocals they would be my personal preference. In conclusion: This style of video format for speaker consideration is an excellent idea, bravo!
Good comparison video, on my rig it brings out the +/- of both, if you are familiar with them.... The B&W has much more room interaction and that makes it less clear/vivid in the video, but in person could make it the better experience, but it's really hard to get rooms and B&W speakers to work together. The B&W is the more modern and accurate of the 2. The Klipsch brings a bit of their classic sound to the table, which I previously didn't think was the case. Definitely has the tonal goodness that one gets from high efficiency and horns as in instruments sound like instruments, not some caricature. I was actually surprised by the musicality of the Klipsch. For being speakers from the opposite sides of modern consumer speaker sound, it's an interesting match up.
I could definitely live with the Klipsch. The vocalist at 3:34 singing flat is almost bearable because these sound so good. I like both but for 6 bills plus change the little Klipsch speakers sound fabulous. The bass seems boomy on both but I realize that I'm listening to a recording of a recording. I want me a pair of the Klipsches.
Went to Best Buy to actually listen to the speakers and what they could do. I was blown away by the Bowers & Wilkins 605 S2 speakers. I had the guy that was demoing the speakers shut off all subwoofers so I could just hear what the speakers could do. I compared those speakers with the Martin Logan's that were $2,000. These speakers blew the Martin Logan's out the door. I got the pair Bowers & Wilkins speakers for $250 with the full warranty because they were demo speakers. Happy, happy, happy!
I was listening with a bluetooth speaker which did not do the review justice. So I put on my Anker Q45 headphones which have pretty good clarity and Wow……The Klipsch have some nice sound and detail with Good clarity like in a concert hall. The B&W have a nice natural sound for easy listing that not hard on your ears. The sound is not as detail in clarity as the Klipsch but its a nice natural sound. I would choose the Klipsch as I like high treble with clarity. Definitely recommend you listen with some good headphones before you judge.
With your face up to the ceiling, eyes closed and arms stretched out to the sides, going round and round slowly while doing small hints of hip movement? Great 😂
B&W more transparent and musical. And faster. Beautiful detail as well. Klipsch is a good bargain. But do not sound as natural as the expensive speaker the B&W.
I’ve always thought of Klipsch as being some of the fugliest speakers, and B&W being some of the best looking, but I’m blown away by how well the Klipsch sound in this comparison. Thanks for posting!
@@MrsZambezi lol I have both 606 s2 x3 pairs and x2 pairs of rp600m both are very very good. Klipsch are loud. The 606 s2 are very very clear and very good.
The B&W is brighter and the Klipsch is smoother and a bit better is certain areas of that jazzy song. I would have love to heard both played on Lee Rit’s Titled CD Color Rit 🙏
Gotta give this one to the B&Ws ... I went quickly back-n-forth at approx the same place in the song and listened to them back-to-back and the B&Ws had clearer highs, which surprised me because I always hear that Klipsch is super-bright, etc. Not that the B&Ws were too bright ... just very clear. I like them.
I bought the Klipsch RP 600M with a Yamaha RN 402 as a combo deal for 630€ in France. Now the price went up and the combo deal is 700€ (the deal is still going on).
To me also it seems that with the klipsh the sound is a little lively generally a little more dynamic..but the differences dont seem much, very little.
The 706s tweeters❤️❤️❤️. The 706s has a crisp sound that is softer and provides better clarity vs Klipsch. The Klipsch has a better midbass performance but is a bit bright borderline harsh IMO. You can’t go wrong with either as they both sound amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I give the vote to Klipsch. The piano was most live sounding and the voice was slightly reverb (probably recording). The speakers are similar but the B & W made the sound, especially voice more distant, even muffled in some way at times. When you consider cost, it is a hands down win. Most compared at 3:00 and 9:00
I got some 706s and the voice sound needs more "chuff". I bought them for reference monitors for my speaker making hobby. Mine made speakers sound way better than my 706s. lol
Vocals are much clearer on the B&W's. I don't find either speaker to be too bright, could be the room setup even though there is a little sound treatment there.
I bought the B&Ws for reference speakers for my speaker building hobby. The B&Ws don't have enough highs for me (in the high hat/whispering region). I copied the B&W sound with my home built point source semi dipole speakers. But (cos my B&Ws aren't bright enough) I put a bit more high hat treble in mine (and then they completely flogged the B&Ws)! I like to "see" the singer's throat (and with the B&Ws I simply don't get that). 😂 It's not only the extra brightness on mine, I like, but also several unique acoustic features I developed that make my speakers sound different. In tonal control and in a spatial way (they bring out the reverb in the recordings more). But if the recording is flat with no reverb at all...well then (in that case) my speakers won't sound any different to any other speaker. I wouldn't be doing it if I was just putting drivers in boxes and building crossovers. That's been done before.
I've got the RP-600Ms, but I really like the cymbals and the bass better on the B&Ws. I won't fault the microphone for this so this one goes squarely to the B&Ws.
The Denon and the Klipsch sound great! They really like other and the cable works well. Great speaker bases too. B&W is darker. Bass is less defined and vaguer. It sounds very B&W. I have heard B&W in high end systems always thought...meh.
The B&Ws have a lyrical quality and I suspect that the more complex the music gets the better they will sound. I'd love to hear a comparison of them playing very different types of composers e.g. Mozart and Shostakovich.
I'm a Brit but have never been a fan of the lower end B&W range. The Klipsch have it here. Listen again to the final minute of this song and note the superior clarity of the guitar and piano.
Guys relax both sounded beautiful the reason Klipsch sounded more aggressive is because is more efficient than BWlf your lower the volume a bit it will blow the contender easily
Only option to listen my RUclips sound demo is with Sony MDR-7506 which will deliver about 70% of actual sound quality, even if you best system listening to two room at the same time is not a good choice.
I may be biased as i own the klipsch rp600m. From this demo it appears the klipsch is more “lively” whereas the B&W are more “restrained” and warmer. To be fair I could go for either one depending in taste of music.
They're both fantastic speakers. For those that can't spend $2000 on the B&W's, they can't go wrong with a pair of RP-600M's. It's actually impressive what Klipsch have done with the latest RP speakers. I used to hate their harsh highs but the new horn they're using has really helped change my mind about Klipsch (the RP's and RF7's at least).
I have the Klipsch RP 600M and can confirm. One thing to note is that you're still getting a Klipsch speaker. So don't expect a warm and cozy sound. The Klipsch are rather thin sounding (but not unbearably so) so it takes time to adjust. Don't buy the Klipsch for classic rock! 70s and 80s recordings will sound especially thin. Buy the Klipsch for hip hop (i.e. modern music) and movies instead. They're excellent movie speakers.
Explain to me if a speaker sounds thin may be the acoustics in your room or they saying klipsch too bright can't thinness be dealt with by adding more body 100 hz or so and extra brightness be reduced by eqing out 15 ...20 khz
@@cecilmayers3429 There is a dip in the frequency response, right where the woofer crosses over with the tweeter. There are crossover mod kits available for this speaker to address that. Klipsch gave the speaker a v-shaped response though its nowhere near as aggressive as the speakers they made for decades. Compare the RP-600's to similar speakers from Wharfedale to hear the "thinness" of the Klipsch that he's referring to.
The sound in these Klipsch may not be 100% audiophile correct, but I would rather listen to these Klipsch RP600M over B&W 706 S2 on a Saturday night with something good in the glass, but that's me. But a little better clarity and bass, will not hurt. It is possible to switch to a more powerful crossover filter of better quality, replace steel with copper, and stiffen the cabinet with better insulation for a cheap price, and it is not very difficult. But this is more for us nerds of course.
Klipsch IST THE EASY THE WINNER 👌👌👌👌Thank you for allwyas best Speaker Test in RUclips.Sorry my English is very BAD ,i can speak Persian & Germany .🙏🖐✌
Liked the Klipsch better in this exaple. B&W sounded a bit muddier to me in the high range as the more silent vocals started to get lost earlier between the other instruments- Also the bass was a tad to drony for my taste with the B&Ws. At least the way I heared it on my Sony MDR-1R headphones. E.g. 2:30 vs 8:40
B&W 706S2 are $2000 and Klipsch $500. They sound different, but B&W are 88dB sensitive while Klispch 96dB, which means amplifier options open up for Klipsch, i.e. high quality low watt amps that can even cost less than ones required for B&W.
I have the 600m's and just got the more humble 606 S3's. The 606's are ruining the 600m's for me. I always thought they were crystal clear. Now I'm realizing they are actually muddy by comparison.
Get the new Formation Duo, 3600.00 but great sound. The 706 sounds like the majority of all B&Ws to forward at the top, too muddy in the middle. Klipsch 600s for the money beat up a bunch of speakers far above their price, the 706 is no exception! Bravo Klipsch, great affordable sound!
My thoughts too. The 600’s almost make the 706’s seem like a speaker for background music. I have a pair of the RP 61’s and a pair of ELAC Debut 6.2 that I’ve been running in my shop. The elac’s are hard to listen to anymore . They have some kind of harmonic buzzing going on.
@@jessiegearns3678 That's unusual. The Elac's normally get great reviews. Maybe your ears are more sensitive to that noise than other peoples? Or you've got a bad set of speakers?
@@lesmatthews459 why are people like you are always believing reviews ? Sound is individually different, every hearing is different and subjective ! Please get it!
I’m interested in which pair you choose. You certainly tried a lot of speakers before settling on the B&W’s. I really like the 706’s but too pricey at this time so I chose a pair of Polk Audio Lsim703’s, $520 a pair since the new model line has come out and I am very very happy with them. Very well made and work well with my JL Audio Subs 👍
The B&W's are two thousand USD. The Klipsch are $400 (Black Friday is today). I think I like the sound of the RP-600M better. More live! sounding but man those 706's are smooth!
The Kp's boom and shoutiness would remain. This vocally impolite 'behemoth' would have to be EQ'd to simmer it down a little. I think I get the point: it sounds a bit like a live performance in a particularly 'animated' nightclub. The B&W with its 'house sound' would reproduce the track in all its feelings: the highs, the lows, the nuances, the emotions without introducing a party that wasn't there. B&W aren't flat or boring at all. They are very articulate. I feel this particular Kp is brash and overstated both in bass and treble. I couldn't live with it without lots of bass traps and EQ.
It's already an old chestnut that there is an 'American sound', (bigger than life, vivacious, animated, exciting) and an 'European sound', (descriptive, nuanced, precise, faithful to the recording) I always thought this was a cliché. Klipsch seems to show that it is at least partly true.
I'm actually a longtime owner of B&W CM-5's and love 'em. These two, however, I liked the lively sound of the Klipsch. Clearly sounds more like being at the live music event. Just more engaging. I now see what Steve Guttenberg, The Audiophiliac is describing and why he likes horn speakers so much. Nice comparison. For the money, I choose the Klipsch. Thanks for posting.
The B&W are 1700$ a pair, and they get better with time, mine are about 18 years old, a very high q speaker company. Built a factory in China for these.
Hello there! What video camera are you using? Are you using one microphone or two? What are the brands and model numbers? I ask because I am considering doing the same thing but I want to play rock ‘n’ roll music and blues music. Right now I’m trying to figure out what I need to do to be able to play those types of music on RUclips.
About the Klipsch: I feel it is overly boomy. And not mellow but harsh. The bass wave overflows and swamps the singer. And when the treble part began it was excessive. It killed the feeling and emotion of the track. I think that I now know the Klipsch a little better. I understand the reviewers who say that K's are great for partying and rocking. The 706, quite 'V shaped' and not timid at all both in bass and highs sounded almost like a pussy cat. Assertive, but enjoyably so.
Все правильно , уши не имеют памяти и сравнивать акустику можно только в мгновенному сравнении , когда к усилку подключены разные акустические системы , умиляют придурки , которые продают одну акустику , через месяц покупают другую и восхищаются : как звучит !
There's a buzz going on in the background. Must be the microphone. Happens for both speakers. High frequency buzz. I had the BW 685 S2 and while BW do a lot of things well I've found over time that the vocals sound like they are coming through a tunnel. These sound the same.

Wow you cN RElly tell the difference in these two speakers. Thanks for the review, the Klipsch are my fav.
Just had another listen on my headphone setup. The B&W sounds like a flatter response and more balanced. The Klipsch sounds quite V shaped to me.
excellent demo bro, I really enjoy listening both of them
The 706's sound a lot clearer with more detail, the Klipse are more 'fun' sounding which a lot of people will like and for the price still very good. I'm still using my 18 year old B&W DM602s2 speakers!, really temped to upgrade to the B&W 606's but I'm still so attached to my 602's, I wish you could grab a pair of 602's and compare them to the modern B&W's to see how the sound has changed.
Have you checked out the 606 S2 Anniversary Edition? Look pretty good.
Stick with what you have. The 6xx range in B&W is not an upgrade. If you want an improvement you need 7xx series (or up)
Wow, superb sound from both.
Thanks
I will always go more for the concert sound, and bass is a must
Good comparison video, on my rig it brings out the +/- of both, if you are familiar with them....
Klipsch. Clearer and more melodious sound. In the 2.1 configuration it will be great🤗
Honestly in this kind of recording I can't judge the speakers at all, but I really like your music. You've led me some fabulous new (to me) artists.
Listen on medium to high quality head phones... That's the best way
My god come on guys, how can you prefer b&w over the Klipsch? The Klipsch are on another planet
Glad you caught it too. It happened several times.
The RP-600M is alot more engaging and fun to listen to. I was actually dancing while listening to the Klipsch.
With your face up to the ceiling, eyes closed and arms stretched out to the sides, going round and round slowly while doing small hints of hip movement? Great 😂
I absolutely agree with you👍👍👏👏 BRAVO!!!!
correct its all about there bass!
B&W more transparent and musical. And faster. Beautiful detail as well. Klipsch is a good bargain. But do not sound as natural as the expensive speaker the B&W.
A Big Thumbs Up my Friend, I brought the CD and the Speakers 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great sound! Each speaker sounds cool in its own way!
I’ve always thought of Klipsch as being some of the fugliest speakers, and B&W being some of the best looking, but I’m blown away by how well the Klipsch sound in this comparison. Thanks for posting!
I own both speakers. I can say Klipsch nailed this one down!
100 percent
@@richlee509 Not at all!
@@MrsZambezi lol I have both 606 s2 x3 pairs and x2 pairs of rp600m both are very very good. Klipsch are loud. The 606 s2 are very very clear and very good.
Incredible!
They both sound like my phone.
Your phone must be incredibly High end hifi phone.

Klipch PR 600 surround sound, wider stage, liked it more!
The B&W is brighter and the Klipsch is smoother and a bit better is certain areas of that jazzy song. I would have love to heard both played on Lee Rit’s Titled CD Color Rit 🙏
Matter of preference both sound good and have their attributes. Here's the rub 629.00 vs. 1900.00
Nice minimalistic system! Tidy and great sounding.
Love them both!
Where I live, the Klipsch 600M are 500€ for the pair and the B&W 706 S2 are 1400€.
And Klipsch sounds even better to me.
Klipsch for sure!
Mine made speakers sound way better than my 706s. lol
Yes ,the Klipsch made that piano sing ,👍🏼
Bowers and Wilkins 706s2 on back order in satin white , so looking forward to connecting to my new cambridge audio cxa 81 , hopefully 6th dec ;-)
Neville Fisher how are you liking the speakers? I've got the 705's.
I prefer Klipsch RP-600M because Klipsch is more vivid and lively and the price is more friendly.
Vocals are much clearer on the B&W's. I don't find either speaker to be too bright, could be the room setup even though there is a little sound treatment there.
Both sounded really good!
Klipsch is the best design !!
I was never disappointed by Klipsch and most of their stuff is very affordable
B&W is great too but way overpriced for what they are
Klipsch all the way. Bloody awesome
Think the B&W take it for me. More relaxed.
The Denon and the Klipsch sound great! They really like other and the cable works well. Great speaker bases too. B&W is darker. Bass is less defined and vaguer. It sounds very B&W. I have heard B&W in high end systems always thought...meh.
The B&W takes it! And I like and own klipsch. I would buy the B&W if I could afford them.
Tweeter from the Klipsch paired with the woofer and cabinet of the B&W 👍🏼
The B&Ws have a lyrical quality and I suspect that the more complex the music gets the better they will sound. I'd love to hear a comparison of them playing very different types of composers e.g. Mozart and Shostakovich.
I'm a Brit but have never been a fan of the lower end B&W range. The Klipsch have it here. Listen again to the final minute of this song and note the superior clarity of the guitar and piano.
The New Klipsch rp 600m2 is a best choice....than the other brands ,far ,better than bw 606 s2 models and 706 s2 models....
Guys relax both sounded beautiful the reason Klipsch sounded more aggressive is because is more efficient than BWlf your lower the volume a bit it will blow the contender easily
It was volume match.
So wonderful to listen to these wonderful speakers through my MacBook speakers, hahaha!
Only option to listen my RUclips sound demo is with Sony MDR-7506 which will deliver about 70% of actual sound quality, even if you best system listening to two room at the same time is not a good choice.
String tone and vocals have better timbre on the B&W, there's a dip in the Klipsch mid range in comparison, still an impressive speaker though.
klipsch won more lively and vocals more present. clear and detailed. less price.
Hahaha very true..
Regor Sanera I agree, but, the bass sounded a little boxy to me. It could have been tighter but what do you expect for 600.
I prefer Dynaudio emit 20
I listen with Audeze EL8-TI on a Maranz HD-DAC1, and obviously the B&W wins!
more better? :P
Wow. Both are good. Can you do a blind test to see if ppl pick the sound they like without looking at the brand.
Spot on! 👍
Alway look for your demo.Enjoy the comparison
If you are used to live, no doubt it’s klipsch
I had been an avid Klipsch fan but after hearing the B&Ws you can easily see the difference ! More warmer and detail in sound.
Miałeś obydwa zestawy ?
I'll take the Klipsch 🙂
Klipsch is no where near 96db, should be around the same as B&W.
Going against most peoples opinion - I actually like the Klipsch better. I never thought I would say that!!! LOL!! Just more open and lively.
Klipsch all the way
I’m interested in which pair you choose.
In my opinion, I would choose Rp600m for movie and movie only, it does it very very well
The B&W's are two thousand USD. The Klipsch are $400 (Black Friday is today). I think I like the sound of the RP-600M better. More live! sounding but man those 706's are smooth!
It would be nice to compare the rp-600m against the b&w 606 speakers, almost the same price range, and I think a more fair comparison.
It's already an old chestnut that there is an 'American sound', (bigger than life, vivacious, animated, exciting) and an 'European sound', (descriptive, nuanced, precise, faithful to the recording)
I always thought this was a cliché. Klipsch seems to show that it is at least partly true.
I agree with you 100%, would love to see comparison between rp600 and bw 606 s2 anniversary edition
For the dynamic, clear and lively sound and active listening the Klipsch! For the bedroom the B&W. Simple as that!
The B&W are 1700$ a pair, and they get better with time, mine are about 18 years old, a very high q speaker company. Built a factory in China for these.
Billy Grinstead. B & W 706s have only been out about a year. Your's must be a different model.
Of course, 602s2, with the Nautilus tweeter, which the 706s2 has also BTW. If you saw the vid where Tharbamar looked inside of the 706.
These Klipsch sound good.
B&W have a more natural sound to me. Klipsch sound a little harsh. But i can see why anyone would prefer one over the other.
typical klipsch speakers sound i had before one set home theater i was very disappointed sound too much harsh i gave to someone for free
Love my Klipsch RP-600M speakers. Definitely "Lively" "Forward leaning" or whatever you want to use to describe them.
Band members/musicians doing live gigs..the CREATORS of music... would prefer the Klipsch.

There's a buzz going on in the background. Must be the microphone. Happens for both speakers. High frequency buzz. I had the BW 685 S2 and while BW do a lot of things well I've found over time that the vocals sound like they are coming through a tunnel. These sound the same.
