It has an an advantage that there are no caps from a side visible. You plane the board, tight them with clamps, router the dovetail - not to the edge of side boards and than glue-up. I am doing it my workshop and it is not much extra work. I can recommend.
Wow! I wondered if the Reitvald chair ( which renewed my love of some of the De Stijl aesthetic) might lead to something else. I can see children young and old running their fingers over those inlays for many years to come.
