dude your dad's reaction gave me a smile from ear to ear. I've said this before but your dad reminds me so much of my grand father who was also Chinese.
Your dad’s reaction almost made me cry 🥹 it’s just so cute. Im pregnant w my first and I can’t wait to have moments like these 🥹 also amazing editing!! So full of life and personality!!!
This is peak content that only Jet could make. What an incredible video man. I know he said that there was no way he could make any other recipes in this, but maybe 1 recipe at the end of the year could be a nice little "season finale" for the channel in the future.
I legitimately teared up seeing your dad's reaction to your cooking of his dish. I also love how even though the beets were a bit undercooked, he still saw the positive in it and that it's more nutritious and it tastes healthier. Shows how positive your dad is. The relationship you have with him is amazing Jet, thank you for sharing this with us! Oh also, in the early 2000's I was painting a house in midtown Toronto just off Yonge and I swear your dad asked me for directions somewhere. I was on top of a porch painting a window so he was a bit far away, but I'm almost 100% sure it was him, his hair is very recognizable and distinct (I wasn't able to give him directions though because I wasn't familiar with the area lol)
Jet, you did a helluva job w/ the editing and cooking the dish. Seeing your dad tear up over your effort, that's when you know you have done it justice!
Bro this is definitely your best video yet! Your editing is so good. The story behind the video is also very touching. Almost shed a tear. You can see how proud your dad is
This is the best video with Mr Lee. It was soooo amaizing to see his reaction, he is so proud and happy. You guys are so lucky, so sweet and wholesome.
I watch every video at 1.25 or 1.5x but this video I had to take it all in and watch it at 1x. Take it all in, bro literally cooked on this one. Appreciate the time and effort - did not go unnoticed
I think this is my favorite video of yours ever ❤. The old photos of you and your Dad are priceless. I love the way you show so much respect and admiration for your father and his many accomplishments. It's truly heartwarming to see 😌. Your Dad's response to your efforts was so joyous and beautiful to see🥹. Hope you're feeling better and are getting help for the high cholesterol...it's very important that you do 🙏🏼. BTW...was that salted or unsalted butter you used in the mother butter recipe 🤔?
Ooo look how proud he is of you. That's love. I know you give you a hard time being a nepo baby but good job. Look at the smile in your dad's face. Good job love. Just pure love. He's so happy
yea you can't really blame him for being somewhat spoiled, that's all susur's choice and wanting for his children to live their lives. But I really like seeing Jet make his dad smile, that shit is how you pay it back
Jet Bent-Lee, I hope this message reaches you. I've been watching since 4,000 subscribers when you were first making your shop, ect. Your editing and style has made my day, knowing that you evolved and found your niche makes me so happy and I hope you become one of the greats. Love you bro.
Why did this make me tear up at the end? You honored your dad so well but making one of his dishes this was so awesome to see and your early childhood footage was beautiful, cherish these memories with him.
your dad was so happy! he was so touched! edit: awww that ending! these vids always make me cherish my dad a little bit more - this content is so wholesome!
Damn him saying he “needs his body to work” early in the vid and then showing the old family footage at the end, more priceless than any luxury lifestyle. Time flies by fast
This video was amazing. Your dad realizing it was his own recipe and him being proud of you was so wholesome. The editing is just on point. Great job Jet!
Videos editing and mostly storytelling is so good. Rob Lowes son (John) said it best.. people want the tea (life insights) in their first we feast ep (also a dad / son celeb combo). Jet does this so well and directs it. Well freakin done.
A well done video on breaking down one of your Dad’s time consuming, “amuse bouchée” style , beets and tomato confit recipe. An unusual choice to make for an average cook, but you made it easy to follow and the reasons why these steps were important for taste and presentation. Kudos, Jet! Iron Chef Dad’s rating of 9 out of 10 is high praise indeed! 👍🥰😋💗
Wow bro thanks. Your video made me think of my dad and the many happy moments we had. He passed away in 2006 but I always keep him in my heart and always miss him. I’m so glad to see someone having a great time with his dad like you on the video. May you and your dad have many many many more years together and full of blessings and happiness
Before my dad passed away I always cooked him unique dishes once in a while and looking at your dad’s reaction reminded me of my own. Keep up the great content!
What an amazing video! A tribute to your father and all of his amazing work while also showing him your capabilities in the kitchen. He is obviously very proud of you and it’s great to see someone with such a blessed life. ❤
Man to see you progress as a content creator from the beginning to where you are now has been amazing. Your time and dedication put into making your videos for sure stands out. Definitely one of your best videos.
Incredible video on all levels. We all want to make our parents proud and you did that in such a beautiful way. We can’t always follow our parent’s footsteps and if anything it’s incredibly difficult, if not impossible, when they are true professionals at what they do. I love to cook, I personally would say I’m not very good, so to see you cook like this is incredibly motivational. Your father must be very proud and you should as well to have such an amazing father.
Jet I saw someone already mentioned it but I second that you and your dad should make a cookbook together thats easier for beginner chefs but still has that susur and jet touch!
Love this, your dad is so proud 🥰 Your dad was my favorite Iron Chef, id always watch that at 4am! An OG! He was so quiet on the show and focused, now i like him even more, great personality... You're cool just like him too lol. Glad i found you guys!
I lv how grounded you all are … it show money don’t make you happy .. family and time makes a family happy .. lvs u all happy holidays from Southern California ❤❤❤
I grew up watching your father on Iron Chef when I was a kid ritually. You have an amazing pops man, learn as much as you can from him in and out of the kitchen, for him.
Not me crying watching this. I lost my father 13 years ago….watching how sweet iron chef is and how present he is with you all, warms my heart every single time. I’m the youngest too, and just felt how happy you made him!!!!! May god always protect you all, aameen ❤❤❤❤️
From the intro I already knew btw fun fact I absolutely loved watching him in iron chef for year with my dad and now I send him your videos it’s so full circle
Beautiful video from the hard work you put in to the appreciation your dad gave for you doing recipes, you can tell he loves you and you love him, good work.
I always enjoy your videos Jet. What you brought up about a home-cook making components and only using a small quantity is very true. It's unlike a restaurant where things usually are used up pretty quickly and multi-purpose. But that's really cool of you to showcase recipes from his cookbook. I didn't know chef Susur had a cookbook! Omg his reaction is so priceless! "I gotta take off my jacket for this" 😆
We're hugee fans of you and your dad's work! It's so wholesome to watch this whole video and seeing his reaction really made us teary. Thank you for this!
Loved the way you edited the video! 🔥 Loved that you cooked one of your dad’s fancy dishes and that you surprised him with it. His reaction was priceless! ❤️ Would love to see more of things like making garlic butter… things that us viewers would use in our cooking. Love your dad and your relationship and that you shared your home vids!!! ❤🔥🥰
Him seeing and realizing what you made is way too wholesome. Almost shed a tear 🥲❤️
One of your best videos, Jet. Editing doesn’t go unnoticed

I concur with everyone! Loved this video!
@americangirl971 Isn't it awesome?🤩
yall are fools if you think he edited this himself. rich people live differently
dude your dad's reaction gave me a smile from ear to ear. I've said this before but your dad reminds me so much of my grand father who was also Chinese.
❤
✋🤛
He knew if the recipes were to complex, people would give up and just pay him to cook it. The man is a genius.
And that's the difference between a Chef and a home cook lol
Those last clips 13:20😭❤️, recalling some good memories of your lovely family.
Dads. Stay in your kids life. Excellent props to your dad. Better than any gift.
I cried when your dad realized what you had done, and hugged you. Beautiful.
8:55 I've seen most of your videos but wow you sure made your dad proud with that one. His reaction was so heartwarming.

Jet is the Golden Child of the Bent-Lees
9:00
What a beautiful relationship. Words that any child would love to hear from his parents and any parent would love to utter
This is peak content that only Jet could make. What an incredible video man. I know he said that there was no way he could make any other recipes in this, but maybe 1 recipe at the end of the year could be a nice little "season finale" for the channel in the future.

I teared up when your dad said he teared up seeing your dish 🥲
The best part of this video is how happy it made your dad. I'm not a parent but I teared up too. Lovely moment.
This is the most animated I've ever seen your dad! I absolutely LOVE his reaction when he realized what you'd done! ❤
His criticism was so soft. "It tastes healthy." You can tell his chefs must love him.
Jet, you did a helluva job w/ the editing and cooking the dish. Seeing your dad tear up over your effort, that's when you know you have done it justice!
I love how positive and supportive your Dad is while still giving good constructive criticism.

Sometimes it’s good to just give back.
And this was an ode to all the hard work your dad put in to put you in a position to succeed.
Great job, Jet
😢 almost shed a tear when he said wow my son and how excited he got, I’ll never know that feeling as a son but I want to be that loving as a dad.
The packaging of that book is truly amazing
Oh my Jet I really enjoyed this video. Such a great tribute and surprise for your dad. ❤
You can tell dad was genuinely proud. Good job.

His genuine happiness to see one of his son's attempting to cook his food is wonderful. You cannot get more wholesome, love it!
Your Dad exudes love for you, Jet, and your brothers. The look when he realized they were his recipes was everything, and the ending priceless ❤
Jet, im american. We love watching you and your dad Susur. Your both humble for the fame you have.
