People don’t realize how awful ptsd is and think it’s only for those in war. But you can get ptsd with abuse especially at a young age. Shia LaBeouf was spiraling out of control and was crying for help. He was lucky he didn’t die because he was losing all control and was barreling towards destruction. The reason you know he genuinely had issues - is that he would show up on set to his films and was extremely professional and normal. But it was only when he wasn’t distracted with his work that he would get loaded on drugs and become angry. So he was a kind person 90% of the time, but when he was left alone to his own thoughts he would turn to drugs which then caused him to fall apart. The fact that he owned up to his mistakes and has even become friends with the police officer - shows that he just needed help. I know it’s easy to throw a rich person under the bus since we all have hard lives and wish we could have that money. But at the end of the day - he was still a child when he was abused. Regardless if he went on to become famous and earn a lot of money - he was a child like all of us were at one point, and no child deserves to be abused. I hope he continues to stay on this path. Continues to get the help he needs for his trauma.
He used the drugs to cope with his trauma. I honestly believe he never had a childhood and at the same time never grew up. IT'S NOT HIS FAULT. But now he is reparenting himself and healing his PTSD in a healthy way.

Honesty growing up watching him on Even Stevens and Transformers and being a big fan then seeing him go crazy for a few years was sad to see, but I’m so glad he’s making a comeback recently
This movie, HONEY BOY, is autobiographical. So this would go a long ways into explaining his personal demons. He was forced to confront his issues by the Court-mandated rehab counseling sessions. It served as an intervention which probably explains his gratitude to Officer Bryant.
I watched this, then watched it again because I am so impressed by the manner Jimmy interviews Shia with. taylor clark this movie made me cry for the first time in 3 years. Saw it with my mom, and the first time I could define to her the abuse I went through from my dad growing up. Subtract on the physical, but the mental and emotional abuse still affects me.
AstralGambit I am so sorry! I hope you find healing and peace.
20 years ago..the late Bill Paxton said : "Watch out for this kid Shia Labouf".. he was right.
It was obvious to me when I saw him in that one thriller movie. Disturbia?
@ Twister! Come on, dude!
@ True Lies with two Aronolds. He plays a guy who pisses his pants.
Rikki Roxx no he wasn’t. What has this dumbass done since they kicked him outta transformer franchise? I’ll wait
@ the guy that has been killed by terminator, predator and alien
Kimmel is very comfortable during this interview, and that makes it all the more worthwhile.
Yep
A bit way too comfortable perhaps 😂😂😂😂
I just watched "Honey Boy" earlier this evening. I also suffer from PTSD and had a childhood I had to recover from. Really hit home.
No matter what people say, this guy has the best freestyle on sway I've ever heard.
His was nice but hands down in my opinion the best freestyle on Sway was Chris Webby and honorable mention Lil Dicky.
It was dope because legit off the rip..but not better then black thought...my opinion
@@wesleyturner833 for an actor, hes the best hands down. Lil Dicky and chris webby are legit animals. But I'm just saying as an actor who no one knew was a lowkey rap animal lol hes the man. Hands down
I’m solar...you’re a toaster
Well it's a good thing what people say doesn't matter to you because any Hip Hop fan would have to disagree with that outrageous statement
Shia is so mesmerizing! He is what an actor should strive to be he doesn’t ever appear pretentious or self serving.
He just beats his girlfriend behind close doors but ok.
Just got back from seeing this movie, I cried for 45 minutes after while driving home, it was so moving in a real way that almost no movies are! Shia has risen above and blessed us all!
I can watch this guy tell stories for a whole day, never change Shia
Shia hit bullseye this year.
The peanut butter Falcon
And Now Honey Boy
Two damn great movies
@Maori Boy 😂
I am waiting for his next movie "Potato Bread"
And the one after, “Fluff”
HONEY BOY is the childhood name his father used with him.
I'm so elated he is back and really moving forward healthy. He is a fantastic entertainer, a leader in our generation.
It's amazing how open he is about his health and rehab experience.
Seems like a great dude.
There is no one else like Shia. One of the best actors of our generation.
Criminally underrated.
(no pun intended)
Not even remotely close
So glad he's turned his life around, really big fan of Shia.
“Oh I look so stupid, I look like a corduroy karate kid.” 😂
Milly Mae only he can pull that off 😂
Milly Mae so cute ❤️
You can't make me google corduroy to see if that's correct....
@ninjarawr21 nobody gives a sh*t
@ninjarawr21 YOU sound quite damaged too me
Honesty growing up watching him on Even Stevens and Transformers and being a big fan then seeing him go crazy for a few years was sad to see, but I’m so glad he’s making a comeback recently
100% Agreed
you don't know him until you have seen Holes.
He never went crazy.. He was just on drugs
Nelson Lorenzo Which is crazy
This movie, HONEY BOY, is autobiographical. So this would go a long ways into explaining his personal demons. He was forced to confront his issues by the Court-mandated rehab counseling sessions. It served as an intervention which probably explains his gratitude to Officer Bryant.
I watched this, then watched it again because I am so impressed by the manner Jimmy interviews Shia with. He is so light and comical about some really challenging topics to ask him about regarding the movie. Their chemistry is great. If you don’t notice what I am saying, imagine Jimmy Fallon trying to ask the same questions.
I adore everything about Shia - he’s a phenomenal actor and he seems like a genuinely good human being. I’m so glad to see that he’s doing well. Can’t wait to see the film 💕
I love Shia.. I really do. So much respect ✊ for him to admit about his PTSD and finding a great way to channel through his mental health 😊
I’m so proud of him, I’ve loved him for so long
I love Shia. He’s not lead a perfect life and he doesn’t hide from his mistakes. And he’s crazy talented - I always thought he had such massive talent and was worried he’d squandered it with his issues. Love his comeback right now
Love him so much. He deserves everything good in life💗
He assaulted people including being racist to a black man. Ladies you need to raise ya standards a few miles. Maybe you deserve that nevermind.
Yes
Merci pour lui mais il a été pistonné donc..
yo, this dude is so good. such a genuine guy. i feel sorry for people that don't get how good he is. i just watched his movie Honey Boy and it moved me to tears. i loved every bit of it. he deserves all the respect he's getting.. matter of fact, he deserves more. he's amazing. im really happy for Shia. love him.
Shia is such an amazing person you can tell when he’s off the drugs and drink he’s finally himself... a very talented guy! I been a fan of him since Even Stevens, happy to see him so healthy!
He is like the most real person in an “actor” that I think I’ve ever seen. Does that make sense...? Haha. He seems amazing and so down to earth.
Team Broccoli how about Jim Carrey?
Have you ever seen Marlon Brando?
Juaquin phoenix
That’s because he’s an actor that doesn’t have Hollywood culture inside him anymore.
Ive said for years now how underrated Shia is. My all time favorite actor. One of the most humbled actors there is. Juss an all around cool dude💯
Shia has a huge likability about him. I have a lot of time for him.
Agree, he does.
You have a lot of time for him? what's that mean?
@@kenbrunet6120 its a phrase, like you can bare someone for periods of time and enjoy having them around. In this case, I just meant I can happily watch him in interviews and watch his movies.
Shia is so real he shines a light on kinmels fakeness and leaves him so out in the open it's kinda crazy
Sadago kinmel
lol at this edgy comment, Kimmel doesn't seem fake here.
From binging through Shia interviews the past couple hours, this was my exact thought.
I get that talk show interviews are formulaic and fake, but they miss so much. Shia talking is way more interesting than Kimmel throwing in his corny one-liners.
Dang for real
I've always thought Shia LaBeouf was a badass humble actor and person, all the way back to when I first saw him in Holes. Keep on keeping on
HOLES is still my favorite Shia film.
I like him in transformers......OPTIMUSSSSS!!!!!
I like Disturbia
You gotta go and dig them holes.
diggin’ up ho-holes diggin’
I forgot about Holes, but yeah, he was perfect for the role of Stanley Yelnats! I like him best as the character of Sam, in Constantine
I almost cried of how humble he felt throughout this interview! Congrats Shia!!!
What a lovely humble human being Shia is. I'm so glad to see how much he has grown since
You have to respect this guy . He got knocked down and got back up like a G and he can actaully rap really well. Down to earth dude salute
Aww so glad he’s ok, love him so much. Wish nothing but happiness his way
I'm so proud of him and his development. I've always been a big fan of his and would love to see him thriving again.
Damn kind of crushing on Shia LaBeouf. He is way deeper than I realized and his complicated upbringing not too far from my house incidentally is really compelling.
He's legit
I’m glad to see him making a comeback
Stanley Yelnats never left
Where did he go anyway or what happened to him?
@@jltaco85 mental problems that were handled poorly and being a celeb doesn't help at all, sadly. It all escalated in drug abuse.
He seems fine now, though.
He himself said he felt his career was over so to Shia this feels like a comeback and that's what matters.
Not "troubled", just life... LaBeouf is awesome and very fortunate. He puts out great energy to the world.
his mother gave him herpes
You can tell Shia is happier now. I hope it stays that way
Oh boy :(
I hope he ends up in jail.
@boring names that’s a bit harsh
@@nedmclovin8095 You're absolutely right prison would be better for him. What was I thinking.
On his meds
Love that he's doing so well, always liked him and he's just so real, no bullshit. Just that laid back guy you'd wanna chill with.
"thought the actor thing was over", been a huge Shia fan for very long time regardless of different personal views and hope things snowball for him in a good way! Would love to see him in more and more movies!
Between the sweet kicks, the self-deprecating humor, and the humble smiles, LaBeouf has really become a fine man.
He really made a great movie and put his pain out there. I saw a lot of my own childhood in this movie, those of us who have had shitty parents can relate. Idk why he is still talking to his dad though, that guy doesn't deserve to steal any more precious moments from his son. Shia deserves peace and to be surrounded by those who genuinely care about him ❤
The GOAT still watch Disturbia till this day
Sanjay Bradford top 10 thriller in my opinion
I love disturbia
What a movie!👌
I’ve watched that movie so many times!! Will never get sick of it!!
This melted my heart
i would love to just listen to him for hours just tellin stories
"I don't know what happened here, I look so stupid"
*when you see your clothes in the bathroom mirror at the party*
