      Thanks Jeff. I enjoyed your LST 325 video. I like maritime stuff; I just don't have too much. Hope to change that.

      My Dad was in the Navy and he was able to tour that boat. So it has a soft spot for me. Thanks!

    14:35 I still can't get over how INSANELY high pressure those air compressors are on those SD60Ms. Those RS3Ls were really pushed to their limits on SD60Ms.

      All locomotive compressors maintain 120 lbs. in the air tanks Thanks for the comment.

    Fantastic, I enjoyed it very much. Did you shoot these your self back in 92?

    • @vidwilzvids9587
      @vidwilzvids9587  5 лет назад

      Yep. A little over 27 years ago. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment.

    Nice catch on the C30-7s -- you have 2477 and 2478 on the same train!

      At the time we were still looking for U-boats. FYI, I'll post some more Feather River stuff after the holidays.

    Do you know why the power for the first train came back over the wye to Keddie? How far down the canyon did it take that train? Great video btw.

      UP probably didn't have a rested relief crew, so the inbound crew parked the train at Paxton or Virgilia siding and took the power back to Keddie so that the relief crew would have a way to get back to the train. Or something like that.

    So did UP used to use the high light/gateway sub?
    Edit: See this has been answered elsewhere.

    Why was union Pacific on THE BN line

    • @vidwilzvids9587
      @vidwilzvids9587  7 лет назад

      This was after Union Pacific took over Western Pacific which built the line, and before BN and ATSF merged, which resulted in BNSF acquiring the Keddie to Bieber line.

      During this era, UP ran one train per day each way and it nearly resulted in the abandonment of the Highline. The BNSF merger and saved the Highline.

      And not the former SP Modoc line.

    Does the Eastern leg of the wye ever get used?
