    Uprooting Harrison? He's only been in Iron Lake for a few weeks. And - this finale sucked. Clyde Phillips should be on Dexter's table.

    Two thumbs down!!! Harrison is soooo NOT LIKABLE!!! I wish this season never happened. Better that Dex "went out with" Deb. Logan should not have died. So disappointed. They tried to make the ending like Breaking Bad. And it did not work.

    Total garbage finale filled with retcons and forced actions of the writers to reach an ending to set off a spin off about an unlikeable character while killing off a likable one. I’ll take that lumber Jack ending with a side of fries and a small coke please.

    I waited to watch this video until after watching Dexter...
    They left many things open for more later....
    Angela, her daughter, Badtista, cases....
    To me the Title of this series NEW BLOOD tells me
    Harrison will become his father + being Soooo interested in learning how to do it & get away with it, along with insisting to watch Dexter.. Somehow feel Angela's daughter will be involved.
    Wouldn't surprise me if Dexter survived in frozen temperature, & possibly speaking in H's mind.
    Plenty more they could do, blending past seasons with
    Bast. & Ang.
    Have to Admit.....
    I Will Watch It If They Do😜💯😁💃♐✌️
    Finding I need a large break from True Crime... 😤
    Lovin Fantasy Movies, Shows 🙃

      I agree, I think they left several things lingering that could come back later. I wonder if Michael Hall was like I'm done and that's why they seemingly ended it this way.....I have been under the weather and therefore took a break from true crime and life itself, which I think I needed. I just recorded a couple of true crime videos and I'm like ehhhhhh might have to scrap them I'm a bit rusty....

    Why didn’t he just knock Logan unconscious? We know he knows how to do that; he’s done it to other people before without killing them. Even bad people like Paul, Rita’s husband.
    I get that they were portraying Dexter in a different light, but Dexter is methodical. He would not abandon the code, not even in panicked desperation. There were other ways out. D:

    • @christheghostwriter
      @christheghostwriter 2 года назад

      Because Logan pulled his gun. Dexter didn't want to shoot him. As far as Dexter being methodical, that was the whole point: that he's in a situation where his skills couldn't help him.

    • @satinwhip
      @satinwhip 2 года назад +2

      If Logan had handed Dexter the keys and his gun I doubt Dexter would have killed him. Could have just locked Logan in the cell and left. Why Logan thought he could hit Dexter with a shot over the shoulder while being held in a choke hold is another question for another day.

    I rewatched the 8 season finale just now, and it's hilarious how much better it became for me after this sh*t :D In comparison it made more sense, even though it was a nonsense. I will try to forget about New Blood. Now I wonder if the line coming from Dexter ''Temper your expectations!'' in episode 7 was a foreshadowing for this terrible ending ... Dexter didn't even start to give Harrison a list of innocent people he saved (without first endangering them): Lumen Pierce, Janet Thorton, Allison Sera, Tony Tucci, Jonah Mitchell, Scott Smith, Ed Hamilton, countless cops in Miami Metro Police Department during Beth Dorsey's Wormwood attack, Lucas (Jeremy Downs' almost victim) and who knows how many more ... Harrison is an unlikeable character, a wimpy emo with an unstable dark passenger that forces him to make 180 degree turns in 2 minutes,, In episode 8 he hates dad but loves Kurt, in episode 9 he loves dad but hates Kurt, in episode 10 he suddenly loves coach Logan more than dad. Did Clyde try to convince us through Harrison's character to never ever have a kid? Now, after killing his dad he will be even more f*cked up, AND lonely. IF they weren't going to punish Dexter properly, Harrison should have taken Dexter's offer, when he promised that he will stop killing with his help. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Dexter to pay the piper, but now, I miss lumberjack Dexter after this pile of sh*t. I wanted Batista and Masuka to hammer Dexter for every single mistake he ever made in the original series, question him about Deb, Laguerta, Doakes, Saxon, Vogel, Hannah, Rita, Brian, Lila - I wanted them to SLOWLY connect all the dots. This was rushed, messed up ... Batista didn't even have anything against Dexter, because Laguerta didn't (what could have been in that thick file?, low quality photos of Dexter holding garbage bags?). Only weak circumstantial evidences - Dexter freaked out for no reason whatsoever. Angela also had zero against him - he easily talked out himself from every sh*t Angela pulled without even knowing what to expect. The pre-patricide blank preaching only made Harrison a hypocrite, unless the wrestler kids in the truckstop (SAVED by Dexter) were murderers who all deserved to die.

      And you know what? I chalk it up to piss-poor writing. It's pretty bad that Harrison is unlikable. But the big problem is that his decision to go against dexter makes no sense.

  • @luketheapostle8968

    They F%$&£* it up. Season 2 should start where before dexter killed the cop and escaped. all of what happened was a dream dexter imagined could of happened in the season 1 finale. Dexter gets in some trouble for withholding evidence. Dexter is in prison for season 2, Harrison grows in season 2 with seeing his father in prison. Dexter and Harrison move to LA for season 3, & 4. Dexter you will be missed a lot, I really liked you.

  • @amytaylor555
    @amytaylor555 2 года назад

    Just finished! I know I am late. The only way Dexter’s character can come back is as a vision to Harrison. Like how Dexter saw Harry and then Deb. Maybe Harrison is struggling because he runs into bad people and he knows that he could kill them to save other people but he doesn’t want to turn into his dad. His Dad could be the Devil on his shoulder so to speak.

    I really wish they had arrested Dexter and used him as an asset to the FBI to help them capture serial killers more effectively. They could have even created a spin off series with that or at least a movie. It was a great season. I would have loved to have seen more. They could have really shined a brighter light on the missing and murdered indigenous women problem. I’m only bummed cause I liked the show so much and wanted more seasons. But I do feel the show had some sense of closure.

    Thank you for vid, I’m not even finished your vid yet I just have to get this off my chest,
    The charges would not have stuck!!! Not at alllllll. Once they found the empty gas truck at Kurt’s they likely knew Dexter’s story held water. How would Kurt have some nails to send to Angela and Dexter have one to leave at his house? That makes no sense. They couldn’t hold him.
    He could have waited 1 flipping day, told Angel he was running from Trinity. The neck drug from BHB and the drug dealers wasn’t the same drug and not even the same M.O. They had not yet built a case. He could have waited one day and not killed Logan, be free until they build an actual flipping case, told not to leave town, and be on the way to L.A. with Harrison. I’m so upset D:
    The happily ever after was RIGHT THERE within our reach :’’’’’’(
    F*ck Angela
    Also, ILY thanks for this vid, I’ll listen now lol

    • @christheghostwriter
      @christheghostwriter 2 года назад

      None of that makes any sense. No, he couldn't "wait one day." He was exposed as the BHB. He knew he was never getting out.

    • @Jelly-Garcia
      @Jelly-Garcia 2 года назад +1

      @@christheghostwriter how was he exposed as the BHB? The M.O. and drug didn’t even match. It’s totally plausible that he left Miami to evade Trinity and never looked back. There’s nothing tying him to either crime except weak circumstantial evidence. Dexter would have known this

      @@christheghostwriter Not arguing at all, if there’s something I missed, I’m interested! Dexter’s explanation about Kurt panned out. The gasoline truck was at Kurt’s house and Dexter obv wasn’t the one who sent the other nails to Angela, so the nails too were from Kurt. The info from the BHB stuff wouldn’t be able to hold him cause the M.O. and drug don’t match, unless I missed some other key piece
      E: accidentally wrote Kurt’s name twice

    • @dashriprock8596
      @dashriprock8596 2 года назад +1

      @@christheghostwriter Ridiculous. They had nothing on him in that ten-year old file that Angel just happened to have in his desk drawer. If they could have pinned anything on him back then, they would have. Maria's investigation was closed after she died. Angel was seen ripping up the judges orders to search Dexter's place. All they have now is suspicion -- No real evidence. The needle marks in the BHB are bogus and bad writing. Those bodies would be so badly decomposed after being in the ocean for years and then after the cooling unit failed, they fell apart. No way they could ever see a needle mark. You were sucked in by really bad and stupid writing. Dexter would never have to panic -- just sit tight and wait for your lawyer. The writing was all geared towards racing towards the moment that Dexter gets killed.

    I loved the finale. It was perfect. This show was always gonna be a one off season and Dexter was always gonna die. People upset about it never understood the point of this season to begin with. We will always want more, it would have felt rushed no matter how long they drew it out. The writing is superior. I will be buying the season to go with my Dexter complete series.

      At this point, I'm going to recommend that people stop watching it 3 minutes before the Season 7 finale and then go watch the alternate ending of Season 7 where Debra shoots Dexter. That would have made the series much shorter, but it would have had a proper ending.

  • @borealityful
    @borealityful 2 года назад

    Something the showrunners understood well was, as the watcher you are sharing the secret of Dexter during all the time, during all these seasons you never want him to be catch, it works great ! but at the same time you desesperately want that, in the end, the world discovers who he really is, all his friends and all his coworkers at Miami Metro...
    this is the perfect end for this serie and for some reasons all the showrunners never understood that... there is something fuckedup with the writters at hollywood right now, espacially when it's about to intelligently make the fan happy even when it's obvious and wise to do it for the own good of a cult franchise. And the waste of time with Batista is the perfect exemple of this.

    There was way too much left up in the air. I'm hoping they announce a movie that will explain everything in finer detail and how was it Angela knew exactly where Harrison was right after he shoots dexter? I reckon dexter was dreaming and wakes back up in the prison cell and finally decides to hand himself in. And getting in a confrontation with Batista.
