Out of every person in the whole entire series, no one's worth more to keep alive than Carl. He was Rick's foundation for survival. Carl was a symbol for keeping humanity alive and a symbol of Hope for the future. He was the only person I could see replace Rick (a better version of his father). And they killed him, for god knows what stupid reason. And the worst part? The actor, Chandler Riggs, was told that he'd be kept on the show for an additional few more years. He even bought a house in Georgia to be close to the set. And shortly after, he was informed that they're killing him off. I've watched many, many shows, and have seen many of my favorite characters die, but no death has angered me more than Carl's.
My god could you imagine a show with Chandler Riggs leading it? That would be terrible. He wasn't a good choice for that bad ass character. He ruined Carl Grimes.

April 2022 and I am watching TWD all over again and I just watched this episode. I know it's just a show but you do get emotionally attached to these characters.
Carl owned every scene, this was his episode. Carl and Negan had the best scene hands down, it was deep, emotional and heart felt. Negan was heartbroken like we all were. Hats off to Chandler Riggs in the performance he put on his character. U will be missed my dude!
He sure did a good job, I agree MrCdub88. I also think they need to give the actor who plays Eugene a HUGE Raise for all the script he has to memorize and the Tongue Twisting Torture he has to spit out his mouth.
I could argue with that in a long run. Shane was a better fighter and survivalist than Rick, even if he had to leave someone behind (like Otis). If Rick wouldn't reappear, he wouldn't cause Shane's mental deterioration and the latter would remain a cool-headed and fearsome leader. Surely that'll leave menacing Merle alive and kicking sharpshooter and Daryl to remain a repressed little brother.

I could argue with that in a long run. Shane was a better fighter and survivalist than Rick, even if he had to leave someone behind (like Otis). If Rick wouldn't reappear, he wouldn't cause Shane's mental deterioration and the latter would remain a cool-headed and fearsome leader. Surely that'll leave menacing Merle alive and kicking sharpshooter and Daryl to remain a repressed little brother.
