And thank you for your hard work with the new time features in OpenTTD! I'm glad to know the tunes push forward the development of awesome new features in a roundabout sort of way :D
That tune.....it just flat-out works with the film soundtrack . Tinsley as I remember it, on my first day out of guard school in '77. If that tune wasn't so upbeat , I'd cry at the thought of how it all is now. Maybe it's just as well I've retired , the railway's had it- soulless, lifeless, humourless ,futureless.
The yard usually had empty open spaces in the sidings too! Another investment -like a lot ofof the diesel loco fleet that came when the traffic had started to disappear,
Tinsley Marshalling Yard, the only yard opened by Dr Beeching (1965) !! I remember seeing the plaque on the wall when one entered the control tower. All gone now, of course. They built an airport on or near the site and even that's now gone ! I really do wonder what people in Sheffield do all day, what work is there now the steel industry has virtually all gone.

Why on earth have you stuck music over the top of the commentary? Do you think everyone is so brain dead they can't watch and listen without being spoonfed a soundtrack? FFS.
Because it's Railwave, which is an artistic combination of synthwave music with vintage railway footage, designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia. If you don't like it, just watch the original railway films from that era
babe wake tf up isee3 uploaded a video
Going in for my accredation and this guy comes in with this to help lift my spirits and nerves. Thank you so much
Good luck! You'll ace it!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
The train music is back!!!!!!
"Sheffield's new railway" - ancient four-wheeled wagons trundling along sidings, to be coupled manually. No wonder our rail network was in trouble.
I needed some good beats for my Monday. It's always a happy day when you post a new Railwave.
Are you the guy making the ECW timetable for TSW, I can imagine this is the perfect music to work to!
@@oldtechnobodycaresabout Yep, that's me. I'm also an OpenTTD developer and it's good tunes for that too! Small community haha.

Not sure about British rail waves but British railways was definitely in its prime back then.
OMG LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE RETURN OF THE KING!
Sheffield is a really cool city - Albeit very different today. Great video as always!
It really is! Back then I hear Sheffield also let you ride buses round for 1p!
Brilliant, but err the loco taking the strip from the steelworks was at Aldwarke which is Rotherham, and hump shunting was already in decline.
…and the melting shop was Steelos (Templeborough) which is Rotherham too…
The fleeting glimpse of 'A Brave New World'
HES BACK

Not all gone. There is a thriving container port and also sees steel and aggregate trains on a daily basis.
beeching never closed anything either
We are SO back 🗣🔥
Another gem for the Railwave playlist!
2:01 Combover fail.

When this country was Great...
I wanna know. Can you surf a railwave?
Freight and a City
whats the name of the music?
Interesting documentary. Shame about the music too high in the mix spoiling the very good voice over
Well it wouldn't be Railwave if there wasn't any music
Presumably the 80's retro synthwave is meant to be ironic in some way...?
Because it's a VIBE
If you listen carefully there's a commentary behind the music.
when we had a industry, given away by design when we joined the eu
Yeah... no.

Good but not keen on the music
If you don't like it, just watch the original railway films from that era
Horrendous 60s / 70s buildings 👎🇬🇧
Most demolished now...

Very 80s😊
@@duncancurtis5108 Which is a bit strange against footage of the 1960s/early '70s.
