I have a confession..... while I'm here for the crochet, I'm really here for Corrina's voice. I can't get enough of it (in a totally non creepy way 😊)
I find myself so relaxed from these videos! I put them on in the background when I am anxious or can't sleep. 🥰
I used to watch an Italian crocheter named Alex. I loved her Italian accent on her English version videos. Now she uses AI voice, which is so annoying that I turn off.
I feel the same, just love Corinnas voice, she have one of those voices that just calms you down ❤
You know, I said this in a comment a while ago. I'm a guy who crochets and I love the videos, but also her voice. So soothing. I'm a gay guy so deffo not being creepy lol.
She does have a relaxing hypnotic voice. Extremely easy listening. But watching her figure out stitches is so cool!
I'll have to tell my kids they are vintage. That'll give their 40 year old hearts a pitter pat. 😂 I'm just going to call the 1960's retro and be happy sitting in my rocking chair watching you vintage kids. 😊 Cute bag!
Lol 😅 My son at 41 is "vintage," too.
I am watching your video with my headphones on while hubby is watching the SuperBowl. LOL
But I love football 😂
I am actually able to watch a video that you posted within a minute of your posting
I really like the fact you can customize this! I have a medical bag (EpiPens, etc) and it can be a pain to find purses that are Goldilocks (just right). It only recently occurred to me that the solution is to make my own purse…
Hello. I've been out of commission I'm so glad to be back I've missed you . This would be an awesome bag for my 8yr old great granddaughter for her wheelchair. She's been wanting her Nana to " yarn" her a purse 🎉
I married in 1988! It seems like yesterday. Can't believe 88 is vintage. 😂
I married in 1971. My grandsons call me ancient!😀
I divorced in 1988!
I’m 35 and was born in 89. Anything more than 20 years old is considered vintage
Oh no! I was born December 1988, does that mean I am vintage? 😮 💀
I LOVE THAT BAG! I graduated in 1988 🤗 love the colors, loved the strap- everything!
That's cute! I love it! Loved the crab stitch for the edges!!! Smart idea!
You look amazing, as always! ❤️🧶🙂
I always learn new ways of crocheting from you. I especially liked the way you did the reverse crab stitch by spinning your hook; it seems so much easier than the way I've seen it before in other videos (where you go backwards to work it). This I can do, and I like the way it looks on the edges. Beautiful work, great video and I love the way it looks like it was knitted, such a unique technique!
The twisty thing you do with the hook is new to me. It adds a great finish.
A crab stitch is worked from right to left ( and no twisting if the hook), but here it has been reversed, never seen it done this way!
I like that look, well have to try it on other projects. Thank you.
Thanks for such a well-explained tutorial. I can't get over how much the bag looks knitted! I'd be tempted to try make a long loop wide enough to form the base, sides and strap so that, when attaching the frontvand back pieces, you wouldn't have worry about running out of/being left with extra strip. I do like the contrasting strap that you purchased though.
I love that a pattern from when I was 5 is vintage lol. Thanks for the great work! Looking forward to trying this ❤
in 60 years it'll be antique
@@janetforrester I was 26 and I'm still trying to get used to 8Os and 90s things being called vintage! 😂
@@janetforrester Vintage: 20-50 years; Antique: 100 years
that yarn is so pretty!
The bag looks fabulous … so does your jumper ..amazing work as usual Corrina.. ❤
Corinna, you managed to wow me again!
Oooooo I used to love bags like this when they came back in style in the early 2000s! This is another bag I’m going to have to try making ❤️
I already have that exact yarn and hadn’t decided what to do with it. I'm so excited! Thanks darlin! ❤
It looks like a straw bag, I like it need to get yard. Your so pretty love the sweater too. You will keep me busy trying out you more wearable projects thank you love from cold Canada 🇨🇦
Great tutorial & your choice of yarn looks fab, totally agree the strap brings it a bit more now. I have never seen the crab stitch worked that way, I have always just worked sc from right to left to make each stitch, but it definitely gives the bag structure & a finished look. 👏👏❤️❤️🇬🇧
Gosh, I love that yarn! Looks perfect with that project
Okey now I am old being born in 88 and all now is vintage. I am doing this. Love it !
Haha. I finished high school in 1988…🧓🏻
What a cute, functional bag! I like how you add your own touch to the vintage patterns. Love your sweater too 😀
Girl, you have skills! Not only the pattern, but the choice of the yarn and colour was just perfect.
Thank you so much 😀
I have the puzzle yarn in green and had no idea what to do with it until now. Thank you!
The yarn is surprisingly pretty. Great pick for this project! So glad you were able to upload. Thank you for the tutorial. Hugs!
Love the bag ❤🎉 Pantone color this spot on😊 Perfect size and I already saved a duffle bag strap. Need to get Puzzle yarn.
Lovely bag and that yarn is beautiful. Love, love, love the reverse crab stitch. Thank you for sharing 😊
I love the yarn and strap you chose! I made two winter hats for Christmas gifts using that knit look pattern with Loops and Threads worsted weight yarn. I strongly suggest a different brand than I used! While it was an easy stitch pattern, the project was a pain in the butox (boo-tox)! I was constantly losing my stitch count and had at least three markers in one end if not one for each row. Once again, you've done a great job! It's not only functional but very cute and retro!💙🤎
I'm lucky that my local yarn shop carries straps. A bit more expensive, but I can fiddle and fondle and come home with one without waiting for shipping. Might loosen the pattern a bit, work it in wool, and felt it.
Ohhh, that sounds very pretty! Wish we could see the end product
@@g.cosper If only I could get it done in a timely manner. Currently working on 14 other projects, 12 waiting to start and I-lost-count needing supplies.
I get so tickled when you grace us with an 80's pattern. If you remember the VH1 series "I LOVE the 80's" you may have been born in the 80's.
Love that bag, the yarn was perfect! Class of '88 here. You got me finally ready for sleep. Enjoy the rest of your weekend
I love this bag. I’m gonna make it as soon as I get a couple of other projects finished. And I LOVE the stitch you chose to finish the seams. The reverse crab stitch looks so easy! Thank you, Corinna
Halfway done with this. It's sooo cute! Great pattern. Thanks Corina! ❤
The yarn colors are perfect for this bag. The join stitch does make it look something like the seventies leather bag!s trim!
This is also such an easy pattern to adapt! If you want a bigger purse, just add rows in between the increase and decrease rows.
Here's the funny thing. I REMEMBER this pattern!!! My aunt used to get the magazine (I think it was a magazine) that had this pattern in it, and I remember us making it back in the 80's (I was in college and just picking crochet back up again at the time!). I made this purse and gave it to my college roommate for her birthday! I remember using a stiffer yarn, with metallics, for a party purse for her. For the strap, I used a chain with big lobster claws, so she could remove the strap if she wanted to.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane! lol
Love it! Looks great with your sweater too.😊
hadn't seen you in a while and missed your wonderful voice. love that bag! great tutorial as always. caron cakes makes a bulky wool and acrylic called macchiato rolls that would make this bag awesome too. promise to not stay away as long again!
The color is indeed nice. I am to busy to star a bag know, but I will keep that in mind. You explain very well, thank you
Thinking of '88 as vintage hurts a little. The bag is very cute & I like the strap you chose.
Super cute.😊
Oh my gosh, I'm in love with that bag, colors and all! I'm also loving your sweater! I wish I enjoyed knitting as much as I love crocheting. It's just awkward for me, and I can't seem to get it to flow like crochet does for me. One day, I'll pick it up again and stick with it until I finish a project. I'm definitely trying out the bag, though. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love this❤❤❤ I'm going to make this for my sister
I like the colors. Really nice.
Ohhh! When you attached the brackets... My heart was beating a 100 x a minute.. I'd have put a square of felt on both sides so it doesn't pull on the yarn! It would make it a bit sturdier.. That is just my 0.02¢ worth!
Huh that's really interesting, only seen Tunisian crochet look like knit before!
That’s a great bag, I’ve never seen that reverse crab stitch so looking forward to trying it. Thanks again for a fab video!
I made a similar purse last year, and used that exact same strap. 😊 I plan to make this purse as well.
Peaks and valleys 😊
Thanks for all your hard work!!❤
I've always loved satchel bags. I may try this in 2mm macrame coloured cord for an added twist lol
I was thinking of crocheting my own bag too, since I can't find one that's good for my needs. This is a great pattern and easily adaptable. Thank you for the tutorial! :)
Oh, I would use cotton yarn though because it's sturdier and has less stretch.
you did such a great job on this!
Beautiful work❤
Can’t wait to make one
I'll have to make it! I got that very same yarn and others like it. 🙂❤👍🏻🌹
I think this is really great. I think it might have been a good idea to use the finishing stitch around the opening under the flap as well though, it would give it some rigidity. Also a magnetic snap fastening on the flap would be good. You have way more patience than I do. Back loop slip stitch is a really slow grower. Tried it out for a sock pattern, took hours to get a couple inches 😅. Love it as always ❤
Super cute! I would make it just for the braid.
I love your channel. I have made a few of the items. And there are more I will do.
Super cute!
Great job on the bag, you (and it) look fabulous! Still working on the shawl (I overdid it on the first day, so I'm taking a short break). I can hardly wait for your next video!
So cute!
Love it. Cute!
Cool! I've been looking for a good pattern like this. I'm working on a bag right now but it's a little wonky. But I like it. I'm using 3 strands. ❤❤❤
I feel you may want to add a line of your joining stitch across the top of the front panel, too, for a little structure and support.
Looks great. ❤
Thanks for the tutorial, i will now add it to the list of things i want to make, great timing tho because i have a leftover ball of yarn i can use as the flap and other leftovers to make the rest of it to make space for more yarn. ( more yarn i already got for another project but what crafter counting the amount of yarn and supplies they have 😂) ❤
Very nice!🏵😍
Quite like this as it's quite dense and would be great as a guys messenger bag. Just skip stitching takes ages to do.
What a nice pattern....might make this some day!
Love it❤
I would love to make this longer and turn it into a messenger bag!
I thought this was going to use Tunisian knot stitch but the fact that it is all slip stitches would make me go crazy for how long it would take hahaha. But it must be a sturdy one!
When I was a teenager I had a purse of that exact style but it was made from very stiff leather.
Love the look, but I can't face all those slip stitches! I've done similar bags in Tunisian knit stitch, with a pocket inside the flap to keep it from curling.
I love it, yes, I am definitely going to make this. I would like to make it with something like a macrame rope or twine, not sure what they call it, so do you think I can do it with that type of material? Or will I run into a problem going around the corners?
Your advice would be a great help.
Love your channel & you too. 😘🤗 💞
🫶 💞
Not Corinna but an enthusiast of crochet and macrame here. Rope or twine can be quite rough on your hands but I think it would be quite fun to do and would be extremely strong. She's said it many times, this is your project, do what you want!
Working the bottom, that way will it pull open as it stretches with use.
Cool bag! Did you think of lining it? Give it some inside pockets?
@@janetfoltz9090 I love that this bag does not need a lining unless you want to add a pocket 🤗
I love this bag! Just wondering how long it took you to make it?
just 2 days
Love the look of this bag but I hate doing rows of slip stitches 😭 just made slippers for my SO doing it. The project should have taken me less than a week only crocheting a few hours a day....I am still working on them and it has been over a month because I dislike it so much
❤
I’m wanting to see the news afghan you’re making
W0W!
As someone born before 1988, I am mildly offended that you call 1988 vintage. 😉 As you know, the 1980s were like 10 years ago, right?
@@debramallard7140 lol yes, I was born in 1980, but anything over 20 years old is vintage lol not necessarily anyone over 20 hahaha , I’m not vintage, I’m in my prime
Looks like a leather bag i owned in the 1970s.
I need a little clear nail polish to put in that little stud or you gonna end up losing it. You know us ladies are not delicate with our purses.
Girl, love you to pieces, but parts of this are out of focus and that yarn makes the loops impossible to distinguish. BUT I know you work overnight sometimes and i still enjoy the video. At least it’s easy stitching! 😂

1200 slip stitches does not sound like fun. I understand why you bought a strap.
I'm a little offended you are calling 1988 vintage
@@michellebray5959 anything over 20 years old is technically considered vintage , trust me, I’m over here calling my childhood vintage, but it is lol we can call it retro 🤷🏻♀️😊
Nice. I remember these bags with great affection. 🫶😊 ✌️And marvelous job on the sweater girl! 👏
