Update: as of Patch 7.00 Beta 8, the H's crew capacity has been increased from 2 to 17. This makes it a bit more versatile but MUCH more difficult to board.
@@KiltenthTV Haha, that would be an interesting bit of lore. In X3, I believe it was canon that Xenon ships were packed full of turrets, traps, blast doors, etc., all controlled by the ship's evil murderous AI. Even if it wasn't canon, that's still how I look at it now.
@@CptSnuggles07 Aaaah I see. Yeah that makes sense to have turrets and all that. Unfortunately I couldn't test to see boarding an H looks like yesterday because the only H I found in 30 hours rushed straight into Ministry fleet and got obliterated 🥲
@@CptSnuggles07 so everybody keeps saying! For me storyline is quite important to get invested into a sandbox game like this. I read about having to unlock factions first to even start one, do you have any videos on that? Cheers buddy
In the Open Universe (sandbox) game mode, there are three or four starting scenarios with storylines that begin as soon as you start the game. You can then unlock others as you work through those starting storylines or just naturally as you play the game. Open Universe is very focused on the sandbox though. The storylines are not the primary focus. The upcoming DLC, Timelines, will introduce a new game mode that is more plot-driven. I do plan to make some videos on that when it comes out.
7.0 WILL add more tutorials otherwise RUclips tutorials when needed and if you have trouble with how fleets are set up ( barely any vids) reddit will help. Especially how the cannons ( main and medium turrets) types do damage. I personally love having boron carriers and destroyers and gunships for a mix of ion and pulse to shred shields and hull. But honestly use the sandbox mode build ships and test how the fleet works. Against whatever you feel like. ( in sandbox you are two systems away from heavy popukated xenon territory where you can let loose destroying away. Good hint with how the game CURRENTLY works. Fleets should be rather small ( carrier, 2 destroyers a few frigates, and fighters to support the carrier and frigates( which frigates will help your fighters in return). Me personally I did MUCH larger fleets for the fun of it honestly but tends to be less practical ( ships will run into eachother when you are attacking stations or ships[ this doesn't always happen though usually when they are coming out of travel mode]). There are ways to fix this ( like selecting each attack ship and forcing them to position manually before actually attacking stations or capitals. With large enemy fleets a simple group order to attack all enemies in area seems to work fine for me. But most suggest right now to keep fleets surprisingly smallish.
My new favourite ship. Have 2 in my save right now and I love being able to dump 140 drones in about 5 seconds, plus all the anti small/medium firepower.
The H while not a powerhouse by itself, I've fallen in love with it's weapons and drones. Sniping the ks or Is guns haven't been to hard when you swarm them with 65 drones. Plus seeing them all launch is always fun to me.
.....So I randomly found an abandoned Xenon H after Terrans attacked a defense station in Tharka's Revenge on patch 7 while I was boarding their Osaka...guess they can also just bail very rarely.
Man what a jewel of a channel! I love your vids! May i ask, how do you open the map while on travel mode? Mine always gets disabled once i open up the map
hhe, not by choice, more by circumstance, but my current play through almost all of my miners (ore) and fighters are xenon. got like 4 scout ships that are argon, and a couple split / vig miners, but I set up a few stations in Frontier Edge, just because, and they've been under constant Xenon attack forever. SO instead of plopping down laser towers, or a defence station, I just sit there and pick up Xenon ships I can get to bail whenever I'm bored. Got like a hundred PE and F's. They don't last long, though. You really need a swarm of 5 or 6 PE before they can hold their own against a xenon raid party, and the F and Bs just die. Still, it's been fun.
I prefer not to use big fighter wings with destroyers that only have one dock. The launch/dock times are just too long for me, especially considering destroyers can't repair/rearm fighters like carriers can. Personal preference.
It doesnt feel rly good against capitals size, however the Xenon H is a Medium/fighter killer masterpiece. It can clear out any fighter/frig size swarm easily and fast
It's a very handy little feature called Video Enhancement Goggles. A relatively new addition to the game. Mine's bound to Y. Not sure if that's the default key or not.
This is an old save. I believe I started it on launch day of Tides of Avarice. The in-game timer reads 17 days, which is pretty wild. I'd say I no longer had to worry about credits after maybe 100 hours of playtime. But this isn't a serious tryhard run; I'm roleplaying a scrapyard warlord, so most of my money has been made from salvaging and recycling wrecked ships. If you're willing to really min-max and get a little cheesy, you can earn credits way faster. I've never actually played that way, so I don't know exactly how much faster.

So, what are our marines fighting against? Human sized terraformers?

Really enjoy your more logical views on things!
Defense drones were fighting da K, and repair drones were fighting decay.
You make me want to try X4 Foundations thanks for the vid!
It has a steep learning curve, but it's a great game!

I wish i knew about boarding when I ran into one of these in neutral space and took it out

An abandoned H spawns in Tharka's Cascade after you reach a certain point in Timelines. It was probably that one.
the F's, B's and PE's will bail, the H wont, but that one will always be there in tharkas on every new playthrough, its a timelines reward.

Thanks! Game Settings -> Maintain Speed in Menus.
Right after the Syn and Asgard the H is probably the most warship looking ship of the game...
I just love it.
Too bad its stats are lacking...
id love to see someone actually play a pure xenon campaign and see what its like, i wish we could mine and use power stations like they do

Have you tried a H with a wing of bombers/module destroyers (it has 16 S-capacity, so 3x5)?

@25:00 Omg... how did you zoom in? Lol. Or was that done in post?

I think it's T by default
How long did it take you to get to your current place in the game?, especially credit wise?.

Your voice reminds me of Lorerunner
Just looked him up. I hear it too!
The H is impossible to capture, tried so many times, the marines just get pwned
~50% chance with a full team of 5-star marines. Chance drops below 20% with 3-4 stars, and basically zero below that. It's pretty brutal.
ah, so not just me then! My first H capture i dumped about 200 poor souls into it before they finally captured it.
K's are childs play when you have an Asgard in your back pocket. ;)
H and F so beautiful, like my future wife and our kids be like
