Hello from Indiana USA. I've vacationed in Spain twice and loved the culture and the beauty of Mediterranean coast. Watching your videos causes me to think about another trip. I find your videos so inspiring. You tackle more advanced techniques with such ease.
Fantastic Christine!! I can’t tell you how much it encourages me seeing you just fearlessly muddle through something you’ve never done before with such amazing results. You really are a trooper. 🤗 And I just LOVE that quote at the end. 😊 Thank you so much for sharing hun. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I loved the quote at the end! You certainly tried something new…and not something easy either. The dress looks fabulous and your ingenuity shines through every decision. 😊
I am a bit of a perfectionist and must say your dress is absolutely stunning. Thank you for such a fantastic tutorial. Just wondered how you stop the elastic coming undone from the shirring once you cut your pattern piece around the edges, like the armholes. Worried it may come undone when you cut the pattern piece out.
Thank you so much for the compliment! 😊 To keep the elastic from coming undone when you cut around the edges like armholes, I usually sew a few reinforcing stitches along the shirred seams before cutting. You can also use a zigzag stitch over the elastic to help secure it. This keeps everything in place and prevents any unraveling. I hope that helps, and happy sewing!
The dress is beautiful. I think I would have given up on the shirring though! I tried it once and it did not go well so I am tempted now to try it again but maybe only on sleeves or waist.
Thank you! Shirring can be a bit tricky at first, but don't hesitate to give it another go. Starting with sleeves or the waist is a great idea to practice and build your confidence. Happy sewing! 💜😁
I didn't! But I realize how important the even winding of the bobbin is to the tension. Some of my rows were tighter than others and it definitely has to do with the hand tension I used while winding the bobbins 💙

You're very welcome! Enjoy trying out the one-shoulder top pattern. Have fun sewing! 💜
this looks amazing!
Thank you for tuning in, happy sewing!💜
This is lush! How much fabric did you need in the end to adjust for the woven aspect?
I had 3 meters! But I also made it quite long 🙂
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you very much, Katia!💜
Its soo beautiful 😍
Thank you so much, happy sewing!💜
So lovely! Did you have to loosen the tension screw on the bobbin case? Maybe some of the newer machines do this automatically.👗

@@SewingandtheCityI wind my elastic thread with my machine it works fine.
